Chapter 17
Leah had been constantly reassuring herself not to care about it.
Quilla was just resorting to these tricks, and having her brother come to school, the likely outcome was
the cancellation of her grades.
But when she heard Jacob asking about the grades, she couldn’t help but feel distressed.
Just as Leah was about to answer, someone called her: “Leah, the head teacher wants you to come to the
office.”
She heard it and smiled faintly, “I’ll go to the office first, I’ll talk to you later.”
After hanging up the phone, Leah went straight to the head teacher’s office.
When she walked in, she found her brother, Leo, already there, and the atmosphere was tense.
Leo’s face was cold as he spoke: “Leah, I didn’t expect you to cheat in order to win. Do you understand what this behavior means?”
Leah wasn’t surprised at all; she knew her brother wouldn’t believe her.
Her eyes were clear, black and white: “I didn’t cheat.”
She would never admit to something she didn’t do.
“Leah, the facts are right in front of you and you’re still lying? Based on your usual grades and your behavior at home, it’s impossible for you to improve this much.
You had a strong motive to cheat! Hurry up and admit your mistake so that the school will give you a
demerit.”
Leah sneered: “Do these things prove I cheated?”
Leo stood up in anger: “Leah, look at what you’ve become now?”
The head teacher saw that Leo seemed like he was about to hit her and quickly intervened: “Let’s talk calmly with the child.”
o, frustrated, said to the head teacher:
84.2%
Sorry, Leah cheated because she was rebelling against the family, just let her write an apology letter and publicly apologize to the entire school, and don’t give her a demerit
The head teacher sighed: “That’s fine. I hope Leah can turn over a new leaf”
After all, they were about to graduate, and having a demerit wasn’t exactly honorable,
Leah lowered her head, staring at the floor, her heart sinking further.
They had already decided her guilt in just a few words. No one had ever believed in her.
“Leah, you’ve really brought shame to our family. How can I have such a morally corrupt sister? I’m ashamed to even say it!”
“You think I want to be your sister?” Leah’s delicate face was cold, her eyes filled with bitterness.
She no longer cared at all.
“Leah, say it again if you dare.”
Leo’s face turned pale with rage as he glared at her,
“Don’t be so fierce, parent. You might scare the child.”
t
An old man with kind eyes entered.
The head teacher quickly said, “Principal, what brings you here?”
“I heard that a senior has made great progress but is suspected of cheating, and it’s causing quite a stir. came to see what’s going on,” the principal said.
Leo responded impatiently:
“Principal, there’s no need to investigate further. It’s obvious that Leah cheated to get such good grades. If she refuses to apologize and admit her mistake, just give her a demerit.”
Leah had been given a chance to avoid punishment earlier because Leo had begged the teachers, but now that she wasn’t accepting it, he didn’t feel the need to help her anymore.
The principal looked at Leah gently: “Student, there’s a simple way to verify whether you cheated. We can give you another set of questions, and you can take them under everyone’s supervision. Would you accept this verification?”
ah looked at the principal: “I accept, but I have one condition: if I prove that I didn’t cheat, will the person who slandered me have to publicly apologize?”
Leo sneered: “Fine, let’s see what you can score!”
Soon, the head teacher handed Leah a set of questions: “I’ll time you.”
Leah sat down and began working on the test paper.
The office was very quiet, everyone was watching her.
The head teacher stood the closest, and when he saw how Leah solved the math problems, he was
shocked,
This set of questions was much more difficult than the monthly exam, yet Leah was getting almost all of
them right!
Time passed minute by minute,
Quilla was curious about what was happening in the office. She walked over and saw Leah taking the test, immediately feeling uneasy.
She walked up to Leo: “Sixth Brother, what’s going on? Is Leah redoing the test?”
1
Leo snorted: “Yes, she still won’t admit to cheating. Let’s make her lose and accept it.”
Quilla quickly walked up to Leah’s side: “Leah, don’t be so stubborn. We all believe in you. You don’t have to force yourself.”
Leah didn’t respond, nor did she care about Quilla’s words. She wasn’t going to let that woman throw her
off course.
Quilla saw that Leah was unaffected and bit her lip, looking at Leo: “Sixth Brother, Leah is still angry with
me.”
Leo immediately became angry: “Leah, Quilla is talking to you, can’t you hear?”
Leah raised her head: “I’m doing the test. Can’t you see?”
Leo was taken aback: “Quilla is giving you a chance, and you’re not taking it? Don’t embarrass yourself further!”
nilla, don’t disturb Leah while she’s doing the test. Wait until she finishes,” the head teacher said,
86.8%
unable to stand by and watch any longer.
He could clearly see that Leah was performing well on the test, and it was likely that she hadn’t cheated.
Quilla wasn’t satisfied and tried to act sweet: “Teacher, I didn’t mean anything else.”
But deep down, she didn’t want Leah to prove her abilities.
She couldn’t accept that Leah was better than her and wouldn’t allow it.
Quilla stood aside, her heart filled with suspicion. There was no way Leah could do well on this test, right?
But when she saw Leah’s performance, an inexplicable sense of unease crept over her.
When the exam time was up, the head teacher quickly gathered the other teachers to grade the papers.
Leah sat calmly, her mind peaceful.
Even when she saw Quilla standing by Leo’s side, she didn’t feel a strong emotional reaction.
After all, when you don’t care, you can’t be hurt.
The head teacher excitedly spoke: “The results are in.”
Quilla’s eyes were filled with malice, hoping that Leah would perform poorly.
