Chapter 1
“Leah Lucas, do you admit your mistake or not?”
Leah’s mouth and nose were submerged in water, the choking sensation burning through her throat
She opened her eyes, her vision blurry at first. As the water surged around her, she saw the familiar faces of her second elder brother, Nathan Lucas, standing on the poolside, and her fourth elder brother, Brian Lucas, holding Quilla Joss in his arms.
A surge of confusion flashed in Leah’s eyes. This scene–wasn’t it the day she died?
Had she been reborn to three years ago, the day Quilla officially became the adopted daughter of the Lucas family?
At the banquet, Quilla had deliberately framed Leah, making everyone believe she had pushed into the water.

Her fourth brother, Brian, was the first to notice the two of them, but he only saved Quilla and left her–who also couldn’t swim–struggling in the water.
Her second brother, Nathan, had questioned her relentlessly, asking if she would admit her mistake. He had made it clear that unless she did, he would not help her.
In her desperation, Leah had begged for forgiveness, pleading with her brothers to save her. It was only when she was on the brink of death that they finally pulled her out.
After that, she had never dared to provoke Quilla again. She had tiptoed around her brothers, trying to please them. But in the end, what did she get?
Quilla had stolen her graduation thesis, and her second brother, Nathan, had testified on Quilla’s behalf. causing Leah to be expelled for plagiarism.
When Quilla needed a kidney transplant, her third elder brother, Xavi Lucas, personally escorted Leah to the operating room to donate her kidney to Quilla.
When Quilla needed her international competition results to gain prestige, her fourth elder brother, Brian, fifth elder brother, Walter Lucas, and sixth elder brother, Leo Lucas, had no hesitation in kicking
her out of the team.
Leah had uncovered evidence of Quilla’s plagiarism and forged medical records and presented it to their

test brother, hoping to expose Quilla’s true nature. But instead of support, she faced everyone’s anger. Nome even bothered to look at the evidence,
Her eldest brother, Dylan Lucas, had kicked her out of the family to reflect on her actions.
She had wandered the streets, penniless, suffering bitterly,
As the painful memories resurfaced, Leah gave up struggling and let herself sink deeper into the pool
Her eyes remained wide open, expressionless, as though she had already died.
She stared at the brothers gathered around Quilla on the shore, her heart aching with pain. Even after seeing it again, the pain in her chest remained, piercing.
It was laughable,
She, a blood–related sister, was no match for an outsider.
Her second brother, Nathan, had been watching Quilla until he realized there was no more struggling sound from Leah. Only then did he turn back and look at the pool–Leah had sunk to the bottom.
His face went pale. “Leah”
With a splash, Nathan jumped into the pool without hesitation.
Quilla, seeing Leah sinking, flashed a gleam of satisfaction in her eyes. If Leah died, that would be the best
outcome,
She feigned weakness, clutching her fourth brother Brian’s sleeve and weakly saying, “Cough, Fourth Brother, I also want to save Sister Leah. It’s my fault she fell into the water.”
Brian, who had been worried, immediately comforted Quilla. “Don’t be foolish. Second Brother will save her, Leah brought this upon herself. She won’t die!”
Turning to the pool, Brian’s gaze became complicated.
Leah watched as her Second Brother, Nathan, swam toward her. The concern in his eyes was genuine, but she could no longer bear it.
He had been the one who forced her to apologize earlier, watching indifferently as she struggled in the

Leah’s eyes showed a trace of mockery as she turned and swam toward the surface.
In her previous life, after the drowning incident, her Second Brother had forced her to learn swimming with Quilla.
She had been terrified, but in order to please Second Brother, she had pushed through her fear and learned how to swim. Yet in the end, her Second Brother only praised Quilla for her bravery in overcoming her fear.
Little did he know, the minute she was left in the water, it had left her with deep psychological trauma.
But no one cared about her. Nathan only had eyes for Quilla.
Leah, what are you doing? Do you think pretending to drown will erase your earlier mistake?”
Nathan blocked her path, his eyes full of confusion. When had she learned to swim?
Leah lifted her gaze and looked at Second Brother. She used to like him the most. Because Big Broer was strict, Second Brother had always been closer to her.
But now, all she saw in his eyes was disdain and impatience.
Quilla’s weak voice sounded from behind, “Second Brother, this isn’t Leah’s fault. I know she’s never liked
ne becoming part of the Lucas family.
It’s my own greed, wanting to have a family. Please don’t argue because of me. Ugh, you’re all very important to me.”
Her Fourth Brother, Brian, looked up at Leah, his eyes full of anger. “Is this what you wanted? If her father hadn’t died saving you, she wouldn’t have become an orphan. We shouldn’t have saved you. It would have been better if you had died!”
Nathan frowned. “Leah, you have to be more considerate. We should treat Quilla as family. This is something the Lucas family owes her, and it’s something you owe her. Do you understand?”
“Second Brother, someone like her, so ungrateful, if she really understood, she wouldn’t have pushed Quilla into the water.”
Leah’s voice was sharp, filled with bitterness. “Even if Quilla’s father had saved a dog, it would have been better than saving her!”
Leah felt as if she were standing in the middle of a vast, barren desert, her body completely frozen.
