Chapter 5
Kane’s brows furrowed with annoyance. He casually glanced away, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he muttered, “You’ve got quite the imagination.”
Wilbur rolled his eyes in response, silently grumbling, ‘What a hypocrite!’
Kane paused briefly before stepping closer to the blond-haired guy, his voice icy with threat. “Who the f** did you say you wanted to mess with?”
Feeling Kane’s intense presence, the guy turned pale, stammering, “I-I was just kidding, man.”
Kane’s gaze turned cold and sharp as he called out, “Hey, boys.” Instantly, two burly bodyguards clad in black emerged from the shadows.
“Make him drink that f**g glass of wine,” Kane ordered.
The bodyguards moved swiftly, grabbing the guy’s jaw and forcing the wine down his throat. That guy’s friends sat frozen, too terrified to make a sound.
Kane gave the room a disdainful glance before casually turning away.
“Serves him right. F**g with Kane was a st**id move,” Wilbur muttered, hurrying to catch up with Kane.
“Wait up!” Tom called after them. Spouting June getting into a car, he furrowed his brow thoughtfully. Looks like Kane might have f**ed up this time.
The next day, over breakfast, Tyler looked at June and asked, “June, what are your plans for the future? Are you gonna take over the company, or take some time off?”
June paused, her eyes shining with determination. “Dad, I wanna try working at our jewelry company.”
“That’s great!” Tyler exclaimed happily. “You’ve shown amazing design talent since you were a kid. Even before you graduated, your name was known in the industry. You once put your career on hold for a man, but now that you’re finding your own path again, I’m genuinely happy for you.”
He promptly had a se**nt bring over several folders of company profiles and laid them out before June, “Here are profiles of several jewelry companies. Take a look and see if any catch
your eye.

Chapter 5
June carefully flipped through each document, her finger pausing on one in particular. “I’ll go
with this one.”
The document read “June Maple Jewelry,” a name brimming with her parents’ love and expectations, named in her honor.
“Alright, I’ll sort this out right now. By tomorrow, you’ll have an office that’s just right for
you.” Tyler didn’t waste a second, grabbing the phone and rallying the troops across the company.
June shook her head slightly, not wanting to cause a big scene. “Dad, there’s really no need to fuss so much. Any old office will do.”
“No way, June, Tyler pushed back, his tone adamant. “You’re taking the reins, it’s a new chapter and we’ve gotta make it count. Yeah, it’ll be stressful, but keep in mind, even if you fuck up. it’s not the end of the world. We’ve got plenty of safety nets. Just go for it and unleash your brilliance.”
June’s lips twitched, and internally she groaned, Dad’s pampering is off the charts. Isn’t he worried he might spoil me rotten?”
She drifted into nostalgia about her childhood. Whenever she expressed a whim, Tyler and Halle were always ready to make it happen. Like that impromptu trip on a private jet to the pyramids and the Sahara Desert, sparked simply by her classroom curiosity.
“Speaking of which, June,” Halle interjected. “You’ve been back a while and we haven’t yet topped up your wallet. Let me transfer 20 million dollars into your account for pocket money. Just yell if it’s not enough.”
“No… that’s way too much,” June tried to decline, knowing her account was already well- stocked.
But Halle insisted, “A girl has to spoil herself a bit. Take the money, treat yourself to something nice. Don’t be shy about spending when it comes to family.”
“Your mom is right,” Tyler added, ready to up the ante. “I’ll send another 20 million your way. Enjoy yourself, and don’t skimp,”
With a mix of resignation and appreciation, June accepted their generous offer. “Thanks, Dad. Thanks, Mom.”
The next day, June pulled up in her red Maserati to the front of the towering June Maple Jewelry building, its glass facade catching and sca**ing the sunlight.

Chapter 5
As she entered, she walked up to the reception where the receptionist was dozing off. Gently tapping on the desk, June whispered, “Hello.”
The receptionist snapped awake, quickly wiping drool from her face. Noticing June’s high- end bag, she stood up hastily, her voice tinged with nervousness. “Hello, miss. Are you here to discuss a partnership?”
“I’m June Keller.” Her voice was cool and composed, sending a chill down the receptionist’s spine.
The receptionist hurriedly came around the desk and smiled at her. “Ms. Keller, please follow
me.”
Tyler had briefed the staff about the new CEO but kept June’s specific identity under wraps. The employees only knew to expect a new female CEO, clueless about her actual ties to the Keller family.
June followed the receptionist into the elevator, ascending straight to the CEO’s office on the top floor. But when the doors slid open, she was greeted not by the expected pristine office but by a chubby man lounging in her chair, lazily messing with the desk plants. She frowned slightly and shot the receptionist a questioning glance.
“Is this supposed to be my office or his?” June asked.
Visibly tense, the receptionist quickly explained, “This is definitely your office, Ms. Keller. Mr. Bennett was probably just checking if the chair was comfy enough. I’ll let him know you’ve
arrived.
Before June’s arrival, Ronald Bennett was the company’s second-in-command. But now, he seemed oblivious to the fact that Tyler had personally requested special care for June, even having a customized office prepared overnight. Yet here was Ronald, shamelessly warming the chair meant for June.
Feeling the heat for Ronald, the receptionist hurried over and whispered urgently, “Mr. Bennett, you need to get up. This is Ms. Keller’s spot.
Ronald waved her off dismissively. “She’s not even here yet, is she? Besides, she is just a nepotism case-a nobody. She’s gonna need my help to even stand a chance here.”
“Mr. Bennett… The receptionist shot him desperate looks.
Annoyed, Ronald finally looked up, only to meet June’s half-amused, half-icy stare. The chill in her gaze made him stiffen as he slowly stood up from the chair.
“You… you are…” he stammered.

June, arms crossed, sporting a mocking grin, shot back, “Didn’t you just call me a nepotism nobody? Forgotten about me already?”
Ronald’s face turned ghost white as he quickly bowed, his voice trembling. “Ms. Keller, I’m terribly sorry. I had no idea… I’ll clear the seat for you immediately. Please, take a seat.”
June glanced at the chair Ronald had defiled and coldly ordered the receptionist. “Throw this. chair out. Get a new one in here.”
“Yes, Ms. Keller,” the receptionist.replied, nodding repeatedly.
“What, my sitting here dirties it for her?’ Ronald muttered to himself, standing aside. Although furious, he dared not speak up and silently bore the humiliation.
Not bothering to engage further, June pointed to the door. “Out.”
“Yes,” Ronald managed, bowing out without another word.
As he left the office, he spat towards the door, cursing under his breath, “F**king hell, who does she think she is, waltzing in here like she owns the place? When the s**t hits the fan, I’d
love to see her talk her way out of that.”
