Upon hearing Jocelyn’s comment, Angelica chimed in, “Exactly. Be smart and let Jocelyn have the tie. You can’t afford something this expensive anyway.”
June elegantly rolled her eyes and retorted, “When I set my sights on something, I don’t giv it up. There are plenty of other ties here. Stop obsessing over the one I’ve chosen.”
“Ms. Keller, I’m just trying to look out for

But June was unmoved. “I appreciate your concern, but this tie is mine. I’m buying it,” she asserted firmly.
Jocelyn’s expression wavered slightly. She bit her lip in silence, looking somewhat defeated. Angelica, sensing her distress, shot a glare at June and promptly called over the sales
associate.
“We’re taking this tie. Wrap it up now,” Angelica demanded.
“Of course, Miss. I’ll wrap it for you right away.” The sales associate, who hadn’t heard their previous conversation, began to package the tie.
June frowned and intervened. “I was here first. If anyone’s buying this tie, it’s me.”
Confused, the sales associate hesitated, glancing between Angelica and June. “Miss, this…”
Angelica, infuriated, pointed accusingly at June and snapped at the sales associate, “Can’t you see? She’s broke! That Louis Vuitton bag she’s holding is fake, and her clothes aren’t even designer. Does she look like someone who can afford this? Take a good look!”
June’s attire was custom-made, so it was no surprise Angelica couldn’t recognize the brand. However, June saw no reason to justify her wealth or status to anyone.
“Whether I have money or not is none of your da**n business. If I want something, Fll buy it. I don’t need you worrying about me,” June shot back, keeping her cool.
Sensing the escalating tension, the sales associate cautiously interjected, “Our store policy is clear: the first customer who shows interest in an item gets the priority to purchase it. Only if they decide against it can it be offered to another customer.”
Angelica lost her patience and snapped, “What kind of bu**it policy is that? Can’t you see

The sales associate, trying to keep the situation under control, apologized, “I’m really sorry, Miss. Those are our store’s rules.”
Angelica huffed and moved closer to Jocelyn, lowering her voice. “Jocelyn, what do we do now? That tie costs 22 thousand dollars. If June really goes through with buying it, she’ll one- up you big time.”
A shadow of malice flickered in Jocelyn’s eyes before she smirked, seemingly hatching a plan “Don’t worry. I have a VIP card for this store.”
Angelica’s eyes lit up. “VIP members have purchasing priority. Looks like June’s out of luck on this one.”
Jocelyn’s smile deepened as she pulled out her VIP card and handed it to the sales associate. “I’m a VIP member here. Can you sell the tie to me directly?”
The sales associate took the VIP card and turned to June. “Miss, I’m sorry, but our VIP customers do have priority purchasing rights. So now I can only-”
