Chapter 172 He Hadn’t Leave
He walked to the bedside and reached out to touch her cheek but saw that even in sleep, she was restless, her beautiful eyebrows slightly furrowed.
His fingers hovered in mid–air, then curled and retreated.
These unfamiliar feelings had been surfacing more and more lately, but Arthur preferred not to examine their cause too closely.
If something threatened to spiral beyond his control, he would simply prevent it from happening.
He took out his phone and sent a message to Gideon.
Arthur: [Still alive?]
Gideon: [Thanks for your concern. I’m fine.]
Arthur: [How are preparations coming along?]
Gideon: [I heard she jumped out of a car?]
Arthur’s face darkened at the message. Had the news spread that quickly?
The next second, Barrett’s message also arrived.
Barrett: [Arthur, is Charlotte okay? What happened? Why did

she jump out of the car? You need to talk to her and make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid.]
Arthur felt a headache coming on. His dislike for Camille intensified.
He ignored Barrett and typed a reply to Gideon.
Arthur: [Her head’s fine.]
Gideon: [Dude… seriously? She’s hurt! Can’t you ease up a bit? Hypnosis can really mess with someone’s mind. What if she ends up with a vegetable? Are you still gonna want her then?]
Arthur: [So much for your medical degree.]
He put his phone away and turned to lie down on the sofa.

Charlotte had slept for a long time. She woke up at the crack of dawn, checked her phone, and saw it was just past five.
She struggled to get up to use the bathroom and was surprised to see the man on the sofa.
He… hadn’t left?
Seemingly hearing her movements, the man on the sofa opened his eyes and looked directly at her.
In the dim light of the ward, their eyes met.
Charlotte blinked, quickly composing herself, and moved to get

out of bed.

Arthur abruptly got up and walked towards her. Before she could react, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her into the bathroom.
Charlotte was shocked. “He actually did that? Did he lose his mind?”
Meeting her surprised gaze, Arthur asked in a hoarse voice, “Do you want me to help you take them off?”
“No.”
Charlotte snapped back to reality and quickly averted her eyes.
Arthur turned and walked out.
After washing up, she held onto the wall and slowly walked out. The bone in her right foot was fractured, and she couldn’t bear weight for the time being, so she put all her weight on her left foot, making it difficult to walk.
“Are you done?”
The man’s deep voice came from outside the door. He seemed to haven’t slept well, his tone laced with impatience.
“I can do it myself,” she said.
But in the next second, the bathroom door opened, and he walked in again and picked her up.
“I can do it myself,” Charlotte said, frowning.

Charlotte bit her tongue.
“Jerk.”
Grace quickly brought breakfast. Charlotte ate some. After eight o’clock, the doctor came to check on her injuries.
The doctor was very respectful to Arthur. “Mr. Harrison, Mrs. Harrison’s abrasions will heal faster if you apply ointment every day.”
The nurse handed over the ointment.
Arthur took it, his expression cold and indifferent, but his eyes swept over Charlotte.
Just then, Camille and Sebastian’s voices came from the doorway.
“Lottie, how are you?”
Camille’s attitude was completely different from yesterday. Now, her face was full of concern. She came in and held Charlotte’s hand, looking extremely distressed.
