Wait, are we not going to the airport de and worrisomnch Even though the light in the back of the limousine was dimly lit, Amanda could still make out Rylande and facial features
No, we are not going to the airport” be informed her, unbother Ryland’s response left her feeling confixed.
“But your mother told me that we would be spending our honeymoon in
Well my mother and the entire family are under the assumption that our marriage is real. So why have a fake marriage and a real honeymoon” He questioned her coldly just by looking af Ryland’s unbothered body language. Amanda was quick to come to the realization that Ryland was on a mission to punish her throughout their marriage.
Not wanting to waste any of her energy fighting him, she simply leaned back onto her seat and stared at her hands. Somewhere within her, she had hoped that the honeymoon would have been enough to soften Ryland’s heart.
Perhaps we are destined to be enemies. She thought to herself while they drove up their private road.
Once their driver had driven into the heavily guarded property before the chauffeur could unlock the door for them. Ryland had done himself the honor of unlocking the door and stepping out. He had not cared that his new bride was still in the car and that he had left her behind.
Would you like my help, Mrs. Scorpion?” Amanda looked up, only to see that the chauffer was holding his hand out to her with a light smile on his lips. Without hestitating, she took his hand and stepped out to the car.
“Thank you, she responded before walking up the grand steps of their mansion. Once inside the mansion, Amanda’s eyes grew wide as she saw that Ryland had changed from his suit to formal clothes, and in his hand he had a hand–sized suitcase.
“Where are you going?” she questioned, fighting her excitement as she thought that Ryland had changed his mind about their honeymoon.
“What does it look like I am doing? I am leaving. Ryland responded rudely.
“You’re leaving? leaving for where?” She asked, slightly concerned that Ryland was about to leave her in such a mansion alone. Feeling like she was dragging all the strength from his body, Ryland threw his suitcase onto the floor with so much force that it made a thumping sound as it hit the marbled floors
I do not know how many times I have to say this to you. But this marriage is not real! You forced me into this,” he scolded her Amanda stared at him, a look of confusion sprawling across her face. For days, she had heard Ryland consistently blame her for forcing his hand to marry her, yet she could not figure out how she had done that.
“Enough” she yelled. Anger could not begin to describe how much she hated Ryland at that very moment. Ryland watched Amanda breathe heavily, he had no doubt in his mind that she was furious with him. He had been waiting patiently for days for her to show her true colors, and here she was “For days now, all you have done is accuse me of things that I do not know of, and I have done nothing but respect you!” she yelled. For once, she was not afraid of Ryland or his reaction to her.
Kyland watched, unfazed by neither Amanda’s tears nor her anger. He had one goal in mind, and that was to make her pay for causing him to lose so much.
“You can cry all you like, but I will not fall for any of your pretencious acts. I am leaving, you can enjoy the house. Is that not what you wanted? to be rich,” he told her mockingly before picking up his hands–size suitcase from the floor and walking past her.

He had long thought about the plan to leave Amanda in the mansion all alone, and canceling their honeymoon was the first step to making her pay.
The last thing Amanda heard as Ryland walked past her was the clicking of his shoes against the marbled floor and then the loud bang of the enormous front door shutting behind him.
Not long after, Amanda heard the sound of a roaring engine, and soon after she had heard nothing more. That was it; Ryland was gone, and he left her all alone in a mansion.
“I guess it’s just me and you, my little one,” she said as she rubbed her round belly. Looking around the mansion, Amanda was not sure where to begin, as the house was bigger than anything she had seen before, besides her in–laws mansion.
Most people would have been excited by the prospect of living in a mansion, but Amanda was unhappy about it. A few months ago, her life had been dandy as her relationship with Stephen was at its peak. She had one day hoped that Stephen would have asked her to be his wife, but now she was married. She was not married to the man she wanted; instead, she was married to Ryland Scorpio, a man who hated her with all his being.
“How long will you continue to do this to yourself?” Amanda was quick to turn, only to find that it was Jay, leaning on the frame of the front door.
“Oh! Jay, what are you doing here?” She asked, unable to hide the look of surprise on her face.
“I thought you were supposed to be on your honeymoon?” he asked her calmly while digging his hands into his pockets.
Think of something. Amanda mentally urged herself; there was no way that she could alert Jay that something was not right. between herself and Ryland.
“Oh, Ryland and myself decided that it was best for us to take a break and extend the honeymoon to another time,” she laughed nervously, but upon seeing the blank expression on Jay’s face, Amanda had no doubt that he did not believe her one. bit.
“Okay, so where is my brother then?” he asked while looking around the house.
“He is upstairs, sleeping. It had been a hectic day after all,” Amanda answered nervously.
“Really?”
“Yes!” Amanad was quick to answer.
“That is strange,” he told her while cracking into a smile.
“Why? Is there something wrong?” She asked, hoping that Jay had not realized that she was actively telling a lie.
“I just find it funny because I saw him driving out of the park a while ago,” Jay told her, both confidently and calmly, and this left Amanda with her jaw nearly dropping to the floor. She had been caught out.
“I—I,” Amanda stuttered as her brain could no longer fabricate the lies needed to cover up for Ryland’s shortcoming.
“You do not need to lie to me; I know that the marriage between you and my brother is fake. Climb up the stairs, second door to your right, and you will find your room. Please do not forget to come down the stairs, and I’ll have dinner ready,” he announced before walking past her.
“I’m not hungry!” she was quick to tell Jay. He stopped and turned to face her.
“I watched you the entire night at the reception, and you barely had anything to eat. Freshen up and come down the stairs to eat,” he instructed her before disappearing into a different section of the mansion.
Amanda was unsure of how her life had turned into such a mess, but what she knew was that she needed to get herself together fast. In a few months, she was about to become a mother, whether Ryland wanted to be involved in her child’s life
