A few minutes later, Skylar returned to her room. She contacted a friend, a private detective, Leon Rowse, whom Aiken often used while in Murida
Leon was not an ordinary private detective.
Skylar said, “Help me look into someone.”
Natalie didn’t expect to run into Jeremy while camping with Austin in Jipsburg. He was there
with Helena.
The camping area was secluded, offering plenty of privacy. Once the canopy was set out, they would be shielded from prying eyes.
Recently, Natalie discovered that this was the best way to date Austin. Being outdoors allowed them to avoid interruptions. Since Austin was so well–known, it was inconvenient to go anywhere
else.
Spending time at home together had started to feel a bit tedious. Now, being in nature felt incredibly refreshing and invigorating. As they chatted about their upcoming travels, they suddenly spotted Jeremy and Helena.
Seeing them in this setting was unexpected.
“What a coincidence, Mr. Powell, Ms. Jakeman. Helena was the first to respond, waving at them
Natalie returned the greeting with a smile. “What a surprise! Are you both camping too?”
Jeremy glanced over at them, his expression slightly somber. After a few seconds of deep contemplation, he spoke in a low voice, “Just taking a walk.”
Austin and Jeremy’s eyes briefly met, and an awkward silence fell over the four of them.
After a moment, Natalie decided to break the tension. She asked Jeremy, “Would you like to join
us for a bit? You can take a break here.”
Helena looked at Jeremy, and Austin turned his gaze toward him as well. Three sets of eyes were
fixed on Jeremy.
In the past, Jeremy would have eagerly accepted the invitation. He never would have refused
In his heart, no one could compare to Natalie. However, the experiences of the past few years had made him realize the limitations of their relationship.
He understood that he and Natalie could only be friends or siblings now.

“No, thank you. We just arrived and plan to explore bit more,” he replied.
After Jeremy spoke, Helena felt a jolt of surprise. She hadn’t expected him to decline.
Besides Jeremy himself, Helena knew best how much he liked Natalie. However, seeing Natalie on a date with Austin today, Jeremy hadn’t shown any signs of jealousy.
It was as if he had really let go.
Helena felt a surge of joy at this thought. Austin raised an eyebrow, recognizing that Jeremy had come to a true understanding of his feelings. That was good.
Natalie smiled and agreed. After Jeremy and Helena left, Austin asked Natalie, “What kind of wedding do you want?”
“A wedding?” Natalie was taken aback. She hadn’t thought about it because she never believed that she and Austin would reach that step.
Austin’s eyes darkened at her lack of response. Natalie was heartless.
The next day, Skylar received some information about Rosa. Rosa and Ned had grown up in the same orphanage.
She didn’t have many close friends. For the past three years, Rosa had devoted herself entirely to
Joe.
However, in recent months, she had picked up a new hobby–gambling.
Leon was still investigating other details.
