“Ned…” Rosa wanted to stop Ned but didn’t make it in time.

At that moment, Ned suddenly grabbed Skylar’s wrist and pulled her backward.
“We won’t be of much help here now, we should leave,” Ned said rationally. Yet, his hand held her wrist tightly, as if letting go would mean losing her forever.
Skylar glanced at her wrist, subtly pulling it free from his grasp before saying, “It looks like they don’t need our help anymore.”
Then, she looked back. Traffic police were directing the flow of cars, and many people were reversing to take a different route,

“We can take another route now. I’ll be going,” Skylar said.
Ned gazed at her and responded with a heavy tone, “Okay, go ahead.”
Skylar walked ahead, with Ned following behind. It felt as if she could hear Ned’s footsteps
behind her.
A thought suddenly came to her mind.
The person behind her was Joe. Ned was Joe.
A sudden urge surged in her chest. The impulse to stop, turn around, and ask Ned directly who he really was. But rationality kept her feet moving forward without looking back.
But that same rationality told her that the person following her was Ned, just Ned. Until she had other evidence to prove that Ned was indeed Joe, she absolutely couldn’t disrupt his life.
The walk back to their car wasn’t far. But it felt as though the path stretched out before her, each step testing her resolve.
Only after she opened the car door and got in did she see Ned also getting into his car.
Skylar took a deep breath.
Then, along with the other cars, she followed the traffic police’s directions, leaving the road and taking another route.
Her mind was still blank even after she reached Galaxy Villa.
She didn’t get out of the car. Instead, she called Jeremy.
“Do you think it’s possible that Joe got separated from Paul three years ago? And Ned, who recently appeared in Jipsburg, is actually Joe, hiding his identity for some reason?”
Jeremy, hearing Skylar’s speculation, didn’t respond immediately. It took him a few minutes before he said, “That is possible. I just found out Paul is still in Murida.”
