Chapter 1221
At that moment, someone suddenly called Skylar’s name.
“Skylar.” The deep, magnetic voice of a man resonated across the room. For a brief moment, Skylar was disoriented.
The voice was so familiar that her hand holding the phone trembled slightly. She immediately looked up at the man.
When she saw the man in the tailored suit standing before her, she immediately stood up.
Her eyes welled up with tears, and her voice trembled uncontrollably as she softly asked, “Joe … Is that really you?”
The man furrowed his brows slightly, his gaze locked on Skylar. For a moment, he almost nodded in response to her words, as if wanting to acknowledge that he had returned.
Hearing what Skylar said, Janine turned to look at the man.
When she saw him, she was completely stunned. This man…
“Skye…”
Skylar calmed herself, taking a closer look at the man’s eyes. The excitement and longing in, her heart began to fade away.
It wasn’t Joe. It was Ned.
The way he wore his suit and his commanding presence was nearly identical to Joe’s. But upon closer inspection, there were subtle differences. His eyes weren’t the same.
“Sorry, Mr. Sowle, I mistook you for someone else.” Skylar immediately apologized to Ned.
At the mention of Ned’s name, Janine’s eyes widened in shock. This man looked exactly like Joe. It was truly uncanny.
When she glanced over at him just now, Janine was completely stunned. Just like the rumors online had said, Ned and Joe looked incredibly alike.
It wasn’t just a resemblance–they looked like the same person.
However, if he really was Joe, there was no way he would be standing there watching Skylar’s pain with such indifference.
Ned nodded and said, “It’s fine. What brings you to the hospital?”
“I came to accompany my mom for a check–up,” Skylar replied calmly.
‘Ned glanced toward Janine, giving her a slight nod. “Mrs. Sullivan.”

Janine gave him a polite smile. “Hello.”
“Mr. Sowle, are you here to check on your headache?” Skylar asked, noticing that Ned had been frowning since he arrived.
His brows remained furrowed, not relaxing even for a moment. Headaches were as tormenting as toothaches.
She remembered that yesterday when she rode in his car, he had been suffering from headaches too. Rosa had mentioned that this was a long–standing issue for him.
There were just so many similarities between him and Joe.
Ned gave a slight nod. “The acupuncture points you mentioned yesterday, after I pressed them, the pain did ease up. Do you know much about traditional medicine?”
“Not really. I’ve just read a few books, and I know how to massage certain acupuncture points. I also know a few chamomile tea recipes that could help ease your headache. If you’d like, I could write down a recipe for you.”
Perhaps it was because he looked so much like Joe and had similar issues with insomnia and headaches that she subconsciously didn’t want to see him suffer. Offering some help felt likę the least she could do.
If Joe was still alive, she hoped that whoever he encountered would treat him sincerely, just as she wished to help Ned now.
Ned stared at her for a moment, then said, “Give me your contact information.”
Skylar was taken aback but smiled politely. “I don’t think we’ll have many opportunities to meet again, Mr. Sowle. There’s no need for that. I can draw you a diagram of the acupuncture points and massage techniques right now.”
She was aware that Rosa didn’t like her getting too close to Ned. In order to avoid any misunderstandings, it was best not to exchange contact details.
Ned frowned slightly, glancing down at his watch before he said, “I have something to take care of. Let’s exchange contact info on WhatsApp now.”
He then pulled out his phone, and his tone left no room for refusal. Skylar looked at the phone already in front of her, where his number was displayed, waiting for her to save it.
With no polite way out, she reluctantly took out her phone, opened WhatsApp, and manually entered his number.
After saving it, she looked up and caught the slight shift in Ned’s expression. The cold expression on his face softened slightly.
