Chapter 1180
Vera said to Ursula, “Let’s go for a walk.”
Vera understood that this was not the right place for a conversation. Soon, the other maids would return to rest after finishing their tasks.
Although she could guess some things, she wanted to hear them confirmed.
After all, Skylar’s words made her feel something serious was happening. Otherwise, Skylar
wouldn’t have said she couldn’t control it.
Denton had always treated her well since she was a child, and she couldn’t just stand by and
watch him suffer.
A few minutes later, Vera and Ursula stepped outside the villa.
Under the night sky, everything was quiet. Ursula kept her head lowered.
Vera had never paid much attention to the maids before. She hadn’t even taken a close look at them. Now, as she looked closely at Ursula, she realized how beautiful she was. Just 20 years old, she was in the bloom of youth and had a vibrant appearance.
“Ms. Ruell, what do you want to ask me?” Ursula asked, feeling uncomfortable under Vera’s scrutiny, especially when it came to members of the Ruell family. It reminded her of Denton and Marlon, who had bullied her.
Those two had the same look in their eyes when they were bullying her–intimidating and suffocating, like she could never escape.
She was terrified. They had taken so many pictures and videos of her. They threatened that if she ever told anyone, those images would spread everywhere.
The police wouldn’t believe her either. They would assume she was just upset about the money she was being offered, or they might think she had flirted with them.
She felt so scared, and she felt so much hatred.
Seeing that Ursula couldn’t bring herself to meet her gaze, Vera said, “Did your mom say anything to you before her accident? Don’t be afraid. If something is bothering you, you can tell me. I will help you.”
Hearing the word “help“, Ursula bit her lip. A previously righteous person had also said they could help her. But in the end, they had only caused her harm. She didn’t trust anyone from the Ruell family.
“My mom didn’t say anything to me at all,” Ursula replied.
Hearing this, Vera frowned
It seemed that Ursula didn’t know anything. If she wanted to find out what happened, she would have to get the answers from Denton and Marlon.
After dinner, Skylar returned to the Galaxy Villa.
As soon as she stepped inside, Vera’s call came through. Her voice filled with shock and
urgency.
“Skylar, I just found out something. My grandpa and uncle… They must have bullied Ursula’s mother. Did you guess that? Is that why you said my grandpa and uncle’s issues couldn’t be resolved?”
Just a moment ago, someone had sent her a USB drive. After signing for it, she checked the contents on her computer.
A chill went through her body when she saw the videos and photos. It felt as if she had been frozen in ice, and nausea washed over her in waves.
She had suspected Marlon might be keeping a woman on the side. This kind of thing wasn’t unusual.
Some maids had ambitions, hoping to sleep with someone for a bit of money. It wouldn’t have surprised her at all.
However, she never expected that Denton would be involved, either. Not only that, but Denton and Marlon had also bullied Moira. It was clear that Moira didn’t want anything to do with
them.
The money scattered on the floor felt like a series of slaps across her face.
Skylar nodded and replied, “I did know.”
“They were indeed in the wrong. However, they later compensated Ursula with a settlement of one million dollars. Ursula understood that her mother’s fall down the stairs was an accident. After receiving the money, she decided to stay on and work.
“As for Ursula’s mother, my grandpa and uncle were indeed very excessive, but it wasn’t a crime worthy of death. I think they realize their mistakes now.”
Although Vera felt disgusted, she didn’t want to see Denton and Marlon punished to the point of losing their lives.
Moreover, Moira was already dead. They had made the necessary compensation.
These past few months, both Denton and Marlon had suffered enough.
