Chapter 120
Cassie was left both amused and exasperated.
Cassie hadn’t contacted Marcus much throughout the day.
That’s the current situation between them.
When they met, everything seemed great between them.
But as soon as they were apart, they wouldn’t communicate more.
After hanging up on Joe, Cassie thought a lot about how to talk to Marcus about her arm.
After thinking it over, Cassie felt it was just a minor scratch, and mentioning it seemed overly fussy, so she decided to keep quiet about it
The wound should be healed by the time she returns in a couple of days.
The night before, the atmosphere on set was so strange because of Cassie’s injury.
Aria got to the makeup room early in the morning, and just as she sat down, she overheard someone ask, “How did Jonathan’s agent get involved in last night’s incident?”
Someone replied, “Who knows? Anyway, I saw someone taking her away in the middle of the night!”
Someone else added, “That makeup artist Clara seemed to be targeting Anne. Could it be that Jonathan was unhappy with his treatment at the company, so he had his agent hire someone to cause trouble?”
Before the words had even finished, Jonathan arrived shortly after.
Everyone immediately turned to look and saw that Jonathan had indeed come without his agent, and his expression was poor. They quietly exchanged glances.
Aria glanced at him, feeling a bit uneasy. After thinking for a moment, she stood up and headed outside.
Because Cassie was injured, Anne initially wouldn’t allow her to return to the set.
But Cassie was worried and insisted on coming along.
Just as they got off the van, they were blocked.
“Aria, it’s you again?” Cassie frowned slightly.
“Anne, um… I only mentioned yesterday that I had suspicions. I wasn’t sure that Jonathan’s agent was responsible for the negative trending news. But then you suddenly had her transferred. Everyone is gossiping, saying Jonathan’s agent vanished because of Ms. Murphy’s injury last night…” Aria looked apologetic. “I didn’t mean for this to happen. He seems so stressed, completely out of character!”
“You blocked our way for this?” Cassie was a little speechless.
“Anne… I really…” Aria looked anxious.
“His agent’s issue has nothing to do with you,” Anne replied.
“Really?” Aria’s eyes lit up immediately, then she glanced at Cassie. “Does that mean it’s related to Ms. Murphy?”
“Go back and get ready,” Anne avoided answering.

Chapter 120
Aria didn’t push further, Aria thought, ‘As long as it has nothing to do with me, I don’t care!
Then Aria cheerfully returned to the make up room.
Cassie glanced at Anne beside her and said, “You’ve got a lot of patience.”
Anne smiled and didn’t say anything.
To avoid unnecessary fuss, Anne chose not to do her makeup in the room and instead did it in the van with Cassie.
She didn’t have much to shoot today, mainly just making up for last night’s scenes.
While waiting, Cassie busied herself with writing scripts in the van.
She even held a brief meeting with the tech team from her company.

Larry, followed Cassie’s instructions early this morning and canceled several arrangements from Anya, so everything went smoothly today.
The weather at tonight was so nice, with no wind.
Last night’s shootings were smoothly as well.
Cassie was practically pushed back into the van, keeping her out of the night scene due to her injury.
Cassie decided to revise the script she had written during the day.
After these few days, Cassie enriched the script, adding much more content.
Just when it was hitting her stride, she heard a bodyguard speaking outside. “Sorry, you’re not allowed to come any closer.”
Someone replied, “Could you please tell Ms. Murphy I’d like to talk to her?”
The voice was familiar to her.
Cassie closed her laptop and opened the van door.
Standing outside, blocked by a bodyguard, was Jonathan, one of Anya’s artists.
“What’s up?” Cassie asked.
“I’d like to talk with you,” Jonathan answered.
Cassie glanced at him.
Then Jonathan quickly patted himself down. “I don’t have any weapons on me.”
Cassie burst into laughter at Jonathan’s goofy behavior. She put on a jacket, got out of the van, and sat on the bench outside. “Let’s keep it short. If it’s just a chat, it’s not necessary.”
Jonathan sat down next to Cassie.
Jonathan asked, “I heard that Anya had someone… hurt you?”
“You heard?” Cassie looked at Jonathan.
Actually, in Cassie’s opinion, Jonathan shouldn’t be spared either, she considered Jonathan as part of Anya’s team.
But…

Chapter 120
There might still be a hint of humanity in Anya.
Thinking about this, Cassie suddenly remembered yesterday’s coffee.

Cassie thought, ‘Forget it. Perhaps it wasn’t that Anya didn’t make Jonathan a pawn, but rather… I didn’t give her the time. Yesterday, it was the coffee. What will it be today or tomorrow? In any case, Anya is now completely blinded by hatred. As long as she keeps failing and has no other choice, Jonathan will inevitably become her tool.
“Is there anything else you want to say?” Cassie asked.
Jonathan looked down, lost in thought. He seemed to have a tough question in mind.
Cassie sighed in frustration.
“Are you curious about yesterday’s coffee?” Cassie asked.
Jonathan looked at Cassie in surprise and said, “How… how did you know?”

“Why did you come to see me? Apart from trying to clear up or apologize, what else is there to say?” Cassie asked resignedly.
“Coffee…” Jonathan asked.
“The coffee was poisoned,” Cassie said seriously. “And Anya even personally delivered that poisoned cup to my mom.”
Jonathan’s face went pale instantly.
Sure, Anya saved you and it may change your life. But let’s be real, it was just a deal. You sold her that good-looking face of yours and helped her earn money,” Cassie stated firmly. “If the thief who had taken her wallet didn’t look like you, she wouldn’t have taken you in or supported you. Get it?”
Jonathan lowered his eyes and looked sad.
Yesterday, Jonathan thought, ‘Anya offered the plan to send Anne coffee in my name wouldn’t cause any problems.
‘After all, if the coffee caused any trouble for Anne.
‘I would definitely be implicated.’
“Go back to rest. The company will assign you a new agent. Focus on your shooting-it’s more important than anything else,” Cassie said as she stood up, said nothing with Jonathan, and returned to the van.
Jonathan sat there for a while.
The sea breeze made Jonathan’s hands and feet numb before he finally stood up.
Before leaving, Jonathan quietly thanked Cassie by her van.
Affected by the childhood experiences.
Jonathan was naturally sensitive. When he was a trainee, people around him came and went, and after debuting, the endless work was exhausting.
All of these caused him not to have anyone to talk to.
After Anya’s incident, he felt completely lost, not knowing whom to turn to.
Cassie spoke directly and would never offer superficial comfort.
Cassie revealed the harsh truth Jonathan least wanted to face, raw and undeniable before him, leaving no room for him to
