Chapter 117
Jonathan had just left.
Aria’s car arrived soon after. She got out and headed straight towards Anne’s side.
She asked, “Anne, I’m struggling with a part of the storyline. Could I ask you for some advice?”
Anne replied, “Sure, where?”
Aria lifted her skirt and dashed to Anne.
Seeing this, Cassie immediately stood up. “Take my seat, squatting isn’t comfortable.”
“Thank you,” Aria replied as she sat in Cassie’s seat.
With only a small table between them, Cassie watched her intently.
Moments later, a sharply dressed woman in her twenties approached, accompanied by two people carrying coffee drinks.
She said, “Anne, I’m Jonathan’s agent, Anya. Here are the drinks he prepared for you.”
Aria didn’t seem to like Anya. As Anya approached, she wore a displeased expression.
“Thank you,” Lily said, stepping up to take the drinks.
“Jonathan knows you prefer your coffee without sugar or milk, so this one is just for you,” Anya said, handing a cup to Anne.
“How considerate,” Anne smiled slightly.
“Anya, Anne and I are discussing the script. Could you give us a moment if you’re not busy with something else?” Aria said, slightly annoyed.
Anya, surprised, stepped back. “Okay, I’ll leave if there’s nothing else.”
Once Anya was gone, Aria muttered, “Such a phony.”
Cassie quickly interjected, “You don’t like her?”
“Ever since I signed this script, there have been all sorts of ridiculous rumors online, and twice they’ve pushed me into the trending topics, making it seem like I was fighting for the spotlight!” Aria said, exasperated. “My previous team would never stoop to such tactics, only hers!”
“Don’t make accusations without proof,” Anne reminded her.
Aria suddenly recalled Anne was Jonathan’s boss.
“Anne, I wasn’t talking about you, just Anya…,” Aria quickly clarified. “She’s really duplicitous. I once saw her being all friendly with someone, and then as soon as they turned around, she arranged for them to get a bad trending topic for that person.”
“I’ll have someone investigate it,” Anne said, lowering her gaze. “I don’t know Anya well. She came with Jonathan when he signed up with our company. We’ve always prohibited malicious competition. If she did it, I’ll give you an explanation.”
“Anne, I was just speaking casually,” Aria stammered.
Anne smiled, “Your script notes show you understand the plot and characters. You must have come for some reason.”
Aria sighed, “Fine, I can’t hide anything from you. I’ll just be direct. I’m really annoyed with the harassment. I wanted to

know if Jonathan’s team is behind this.”
“Focus on filming. I’ll handle the rest,” Anne replied calmly.
Aria didn’t seem like the type to cause trouble. She thanked Anne before getting up and leaving.

“What’s a spoiled rich girl like her doing in the entertainment industry with such poor mental strength?” Lily muttered. “She got lucky. After debuting, her films are all famous. But she doesn’t understand the industry’s harsh realities, and now she’s boldly coming to you to settle matters.”
“She’s quite charming,” Anne said, reaching for her coffee. “The entertainment industry nowadays makes all artists seem the same. Her energy adds fresh vitality.”
“Mom, maybe you shouldn’t drink that coffee,” Cassie warned as Anne was about to take a sip.
“Why not? Coffee isn’t fattening,” Anne asked, puzzled.
“I ordered freshly ground coffee for you. This one isn’t good. Let’s give it to the bodyguards. It’s hot outside, and they’ve been on their feet all day. It’ll help them refresh,” Cassie proposed.
“Alright,” Anne nodded. “Have someone take it to them.”
“Won’t you leave a cup for me?” Lily pouted, her fingers curling into a fist.
“I’ll treat you to some trendy milkshake later. What’s so great about these?” Cassie whispered
Lily perked up at the mention of the milkshake. “Deal!”
Cassie smiled as she called someone over, handing out the coffee and milkshake.
“Honestly, Ms. Murphy is far kinder than that other millionaire, always considering those below her!” Lily praised.
Anne enjoyed hearing compliments about Cassie.
She equally appreciated Lily acknowledging Cassie’s kindness.
Cassie handed out coffee to everyone. But the cup specially prepared for Anne was given to Larry instead.
“Tell the others not to drink the coffee. Gather them up and take them for a poison test, especially yours,” Cassie instructed.
“Got it,” Larry replied with a nod.
Cassie didn’t talk much to him and walked back.
She kicked the sand beneath her feet, sensing a pair of eyes watching her from the crowd.
Those eyes were full of malice.
If the coffee was indeed poisoned, and considering yesterday’s incident with the flowers, that person must already suspect her.
Cassie remained calm.
Let them suspect. It might even help her catch them.
In a corner, a discussion unfolded.

Chapter 117
“Anne’s daughter is not simple.”
“She’s just a kid. How powerful can she be?”
“But we’ve lost to her in several operations.”
“That’s just her being lucky!”
“I can’t wait any longer. Whether it’s luck or not, we’ve likely been noticed. We need to act directly. Find someone with mental issues and take action right now!”
“Okay.”

Later, Anne took a break and resumed filming after dark.
The wind was strong by the seaside at night.
Because of the wind, filming was paused several times, indirectly extending the shooting schedule.
In the dim light, a person dressed as a crew member entered the shooting range, carrying something.
“What’s taking so long? Hurry up and hang the balloons that got blown away. And you, finish the makeup touch-ups faster!” Colt ranted, angrily pointing at each person.
Cassie stood beside Anne.
At this moment, Clara ran over with a makeup bag, saying, “Anne, I’m here to touch up your makeup.”
“No need. We have a makeup artist.” Things were a bit chaotic, and Lily thought the crew’s makeup artist had made a mistake, so she instinctively refused.
“It’s necessary,” the makeup artist Clara insisted, reaching into her bag.
Before anyone could react, Clara suddenly pulled out a dagger from the bag. “If you don’t let me do your makeup, I’ll kill you.”
With those words, Clara lunged the dagger towards Anne.
At the critical moment, Cassie, who was beside Anne, pushed her away.
As Anne fell, Clara didn’t stop and kept attacking her.
Cassie grabbed her wrist. But Clara’s strength was surprisingly strong. “I’ll kill anyone who stops me,” she shouted.
The dagger glinted as it grazed Cassie’s arm. Cassie tightened her grip, pushing Clara back to protect Anne. “In your dreams.”
This all happened in just a brief moment.
A group of bodyguards rushed over and pinned down Clara before she could harm Cassie further.
“Cassie!” Anne cried, trembling with fear.
She quickly scrambled to Cassie’s side, panicking at the sight of her bloodied arm. “Doctor! Call the medical team!”
“Mom, I’m fine. It’s just a minor cut.” Cassie reassured Anne.
“Didn’t I tell you? Don’t put yourself in danger! I told you before!” Anne’s tears started to fall uncontrollably.

Chapter 117
Cassie didn’t know how to comfort her.
The film crew was in complete chaos.
The medical team arrived quickly to bandage Cassie’s injured arm.
“Ms. Murphy, how serious is it?” Larry asked, having dealt with Clara, feeling a chill as he saw all the blood.
He thought, ‘I am screwed. Heston won’t let me get away with it
“It’s not serious,” Cassie replied, shaking her head. “Larry, handle the news. Don’t report my injury.”
The situation was chaotic, and news would likely spread quickly and hit the trending topics soon.
“Larry? When did you come?” Anne looked at Larry in surprise.

Larry lowered his head, “Mrs. Murphy, I heard something happened with the crew. I was worried, so I came over yesterday.”
Anne glanced between Cassie and Larry. “Are you hiding something from me?”.
“It hurts…” Cassie feigned toughness, leaning on Anne. “Mom, I want to go back to my room and rest.”
“Alright, let’s go back to your room to rest,” Anne was successfully distracted.
Before Cassie followed her, she signaled Larry to run off.
Larry was speechless.
Recently, he felt he was moving further away from his cold, emotionless persona.
Back in the room, Anne remained anxious. “I’ll have Larry take you back for another checkup.”
“Mom, it’s exaggerated. I just grazed the knife. The doctor said it didn’t hit muscle,” Cassie leaned back on the sofa. “Once the wound heals, everything will be alright.”
“But it will leave a scar!” Anne’s eyes reddened.
“Your dad and Grandpa have always treated you like a treasure, never letting you get hurt like this. And now, the first time I take you out…” she lamented.
Cassie quickly reassured her. “This isn’t your fault. That person appeared out of nowhere and pulled out the knife. If I hadn’t reacted quickly, the knife would have hit you.”
