Chapter 59
“Yeah! And Luke can come!” she responded.
“Who?”
“Trinity’s mate, he likes to watch hockey and his favorite food is spaghetti.” She stated.
“When did she meet him?” I asked it bothering me slightly that there was now a male figure in the house.
I didn’t like not knowing him or his attitudes towards or around Violet.
“I don’t know” she said shrugging.
She gasped and I stopped looked down at her, “And Alpha Collins!” she said excitedly.
“What?”

“Can we invite Alpha Collins?” she asked, I didn’t know how Dez acted around children but I hoped it wasn’t how he acted around adults. I thought.
“We’ll see” I replied, she seemed satisfied with this and we went back to the house and I taught her how
to make sugar cookies. We had fun making messes and playing in the kitchen. Atticus watched us
carefully and was soon joining in the teasing. Violet had started to call him Atty which was hilarious. The
other guards moved soundlessly throughout the house.
I took Violet home and cleared it with Trinity that we were making dinner and Luke was invited, and that I would be picking Violet up at 4:30. I left and went to Dez’s office.
I knocked quietly before walking in, he wasn’t there so I waited until her came back. His hair was
dripping wet and he smelled like sweat. It oddly smelled good mixed with is natural musky scent. He
nodded his head at me.
“Where’s Michael?” I questioned, his brow furrowed and he frowned.
“Why?”
“I need him for something”
“For what?” he asked sharply.
“I have to ask him something” I replied impatiently, why wouldn’t he just tell me. I waited before giving him the look.
“Well are you going to tell me?” I asked irritated, he raised an eyebrow at me.

“No” he answered.
“Why the hell no- nevermind” I said angrily stalking to the door.
“Kendal” Dez said, he didn’t yell but my name from his lips made me freeze I turned around.
“I have a meeting later, please try to stay put” he said sounding slightly annoyed even though I hadn’t done anything.
“Okay?”
“Usually you run off and almost get killed” he said bitterly, I rolled my eyes.
“I’m having people over tonight anyways” I replied.
“Who?” he demanded.
“People.” I replied before leaving.
“Kendal” Dez said angrily as I shut the door, I smirked with the sound of his frustration. I sighed taking in my triumph before descending the stairs unfortunately I was met with a very unhappy looking Dez at the end of the stairs. I gave him a sweet smile.
“Who and why?” he asked his arms crossed over his chest, looking extremely intimidating and sexy.
“Violet’s family” I answered quietly.
“Why?”

“I want to?” I said questionably, he let out an annoyed sigh.
“You’re welcome to join if you’ll behave” I said lightly, he shook his head before pushing past me and left me there at the end of the stairs. I took a short nap and then went for Violet.
I got her and we made spaghetti for Trinity and Luke. They showed up around 5 and we all sat down, Luke seemed alright, he was really good with Violet so all my worries disappeared and I just enjoyed listening to her chatter and talk excitedly about how we made dinner and a whole bunch of other things it was one thing after another with her.
Luke and Trinity took a very sleepy Violet home, after she fell asleep on the floor. The minute they left I started dishes and by the time I was done Dez was coming into the kitchen.
“Are you hungry?” I asked, he shook his head and I rolled my eyes muttering “whatever” under my
breath.
“I have a meeting”

“With?” I asked.
He looked at me for a long moment I squirmed under his intense gaze, “Allies”
“You have allies, since when?” I questioned, he raised an eyebrow at my questions.
“What? I have a right to know, I’m going to be a Luna someday…right?” I questioned looking up at him watching his reaction. His lip twitched, he knew I was testing him. I braced myself for the no, or for him to not answer. He raised an eyebrow but didn’t reply and left. I sighed knowing that would probably happen. I let out a small growl of annoyance.
He appeared a few moments later.
‘Are you leaving now?” I asked, he nodded. “Can I go?” I asked him not wanting to sit around the empty cold apartment the whole night. He thought, and finally breathed in deeply before nodding his head. I grinned and followed him out down to his office.
He went into one room and motioned for me to go in another, I went in seeing a few women maybe a few years older than me. They were all pretty and smelled like Lunas, I figured the allies must have brought their mates and this was were they waited together, laughing and talking over glasses of wine. I sat down in a chair all to myself and curled into a ball listening to their quiet chatter.
I drifted in and out before finally falling into a deep sleep.
