Chapter 51
My breath caught in my throat. It was guy who delivered the package that smelled like blood, and that made Dez go into crazy overprotective alpha mode. My throat closed up and I didn’t know what to do I just stood there staring at him frozen. He gave me a dazzling smile, I cleared my throat attempting to make my throat untighten, but my mouth was so dry even if I accomplished that I couldn’t talk anyways.
“Where’s your mate?” he asked me his eyes going behind me to cast a glance around the room.
“He’s in the shower” I said quietly my voice lower than a whisper. I studying him wondering what exactly was going to happen next.
“Are you sure?” he asked me, I nodded watching him carefully.
“Can I come in?” he asked.
“um” was my answer, I thought for a little while looking at the floor chewing on my lip but still keeping my eyes on him.
“Yes?” I replied questionably, still staring at him.
“Are you going to let me in or…” he trailed off, I nodded moving back a little. I went to the kitchen and he sat on the couch, I stared at him for a while, I was shaking. I didn’t know what to do or what was going on. This man scared me. I had no idea what type of threat he was to me, I knew Dez wasn’t here so if he
decided to take me or hurt me I was done for.
“So has he told you?” he asked casually looking at me. I frowned.
“Told me what?” I asked, his eyes lit up with an unknown fire and a smirk made its way on his face.
“He hasn’t told you? Hm. I wonder what else he doesn’t tell you” he thought aloud, I knew he was trying
to get to me.
“Although that doesn’t surprise me, I probably wouldnt tell you either” he mused. I narrowed my eyes at
him.
“Tell me what?” I asked curiosity eating at me.
“Now that wouldn’t be very fair would it? If I told you.” He said giving me a sick smile, I was playing his game and he knew it.
I rolled my eyes and went into the hallway and then into the bedroom, praying that he was out of the shower. He was just walking out in sweatpants and a t–shirt, I froze in the doorway, he looked at me questionably.

“Dez” I said quietly. “There’s um someone here” I said, he frowned and then went past me before I could tell him exactly who this person was, I followed him down the hallway. All his muscles had tensed and were rock hard, his posture was stiff and not relaxed, he stood in the doorway to the living room stopping. His hand flew back to me and he gripped my waist pushing me completely behind him. There was a moment of complete silence before the door opened and a couple guards came in and didn’t even have to force him up he stood up and willingly went out with them, but not before shooting me a wink. I swallowed hardly gritting my teeth.
He knew what he was doing. I knew what he was doing. And I was still doing exactly what he wanted. I was eating myself up over it. What wasn’t Dez telling me? I look at him, he was now seated across the room on the couch looking at me. I looked back at the ground chewing on my lip. Dez and I didn’t communicate so I could expect him not telling me things. It still bothered me.
He knew what he was doing, he came in a dn basically planted the seed, now I had to play his game to find out what he was talking about. I told myself he was just shaking me up and trying to make me second guess things. But I knew Dez never told me anything, we never talked so there was very large possibility that there was actually something he wasn’t telling me.
“Dez” I said trying to keep the hysteria and curiosity out of my voice, he straight a little.
“Where did you take him?” I asked. He looked at me for a minute suspiciously.
“why?” he said cautiously.
“Just wondering” I said casually shrugging. He studied me for a minute, I tried not to squirm under his intense gaze or look guilty. I heard a faint knock and Dez got up without answering me and went to the
door.
He opened the door and let out a small growl that made me shiver, he opened the door though and turned his back walking back to me. I peeked behind him and saw my father, I grinned.
“Hi dad” I said happily, Dez sat down and seemed to be watching me carefully.
“Kendal” he said and paused, I waited knowing by the tone of his voice there was more to be said.
“I want you to meet someone”
“Who is it?” I asked glancing at Dez to see if I could tell by his facial features if he was in on this or not, of course I couldn’t tell at all since Dez didn’t have facial features.
“It’s a surprise” my dad said, it had seemed like he was going to tell me but decided against it.
