Chapter 46
I sighed following Dez to his house, he went to the kitchen and I want to take a shower and then went to my room, I changed into a loose, soft sweater not really caring if it was a little short and fell off my shoulder. It was my bed, it didn’t care.
I waited a little while before deciding Dez should be done in the kitchen by now, I got up and went to the kitchen, freezing in the doorway finding him still at the kitchen table looking over paperwork. I was going to turn completely around and just go back to my room before he saw me but he glanced up at me, his body stiffening slightly at my presence. Even though he had seen me I still just turned around changing my mind I wasn’t that hungry anyways.
I flicked the light off and climbed in bed snuggling under the cocoon of soft sheets. I cuddled one of Dez’s shirts that his scent still lingered on and went straight to sleep for once.
I woke up vaguely to someone moving me, and then I became alarmed when I realized this person didn’t give me tingles and smelled like pine. Dez didn’t smell like pine.
I forced my eyes opened trying to move but I was in someone’s arms. I struggled a little not recognizing the person, he looked down at me. He had a narrow nose that lead to green eyes, he needed to shave and had a bruise on his cheekbone. His hair was a matted mess, but his grip on me was strong.
I looked around seeing him taking me through the kitchen and I screamed loudly. He immediately stuck his hand over my mouth and I didn’t fight him because I knew Dez heard, im pretty sure the whole neighborhood heard that, I sent an elbow flying into his ribs and then pushed my hand into his throat.
He made a gasping noise and dropped me immediately grabbing his neck wheezing and gasping for air. I hit the floor hardly and the breath was knocked out of me. Dez came into the kitchen on high alert his eyes zeroing in on the man. The man turned around still struggling for oxygen, I hit him pretty hard.
His eyes widened when they landed on Dez, “Kendal close your eyes” Dez said and I automatically threw my hands up over my face, turning my body away, I heard a little bit off scuffling, another gasp for breath and then a loud crack and a sickening thump as his body hit the floor.
I felt Dez clasp a hand around my wrist pulling me up I opened my eyes but his hand replaced mine on my face and covered my eyes.
“Dez, what are you-”
“Shh” he hushed and guided me around furniture to the door, I knew we were outside when the chilly air hit my body and I cringed, regretting my decision of just a sweater last night, I used my free hand to pull my shirt over my shoulder only to have it slide down again.
I could feel my body getting chilled and I squeeze my thighs together wrapping my arms around myself.

Dez took my to his truck and drove me to the pack house, he lead me up the stairs, it was the early hours of the morning once again so I was quiet as I went of the flight of stairs loosing my balance once only to have Dez grab onto my elbow and guide me up them. He went down a few hallway and then up another set of stairs that lead to one hallway with one doorway at the end on the right.
He went down it and opened it up leading me in. He flicked the light on, we were in a living room. It was a small flat, a simple living room with more updated stuff, it smelled like sex in here, and I realized this was probably Dez’s bachelor pad, that he got laid in. I wrinkled my nose trying to hold my breath.
“it stinks in here” I commented quietly. He lead me through the living room, past the bar that was the beginning of the kitchen and then down a hallway. He opened a door at the end of the hallway, and lead me into a small room with a king size bed, covered in black sheets. It smelled nicer in here.
“You can sleep here while I get everything sorted out” he spoke. His voice was rough and husky from sleep, I shivered a little.
I was not sleeping in this bed if he has had sex on it “How many times have you had sex on this bed?” I questioned, he raised an eyebrow.
“Why?”
“I’m not sleeping somewhere my mate had sex with someone” I stated bluntly. It was 5 in the morning I was joke woken up mid–being kidnapped give me break.
He sighed “I haven’t had sex in here” he said sounding annoyed like he usually did when I was involved. I muttered ‘good‘ under my breath and went to the bed pulling the sheets back. He left and came back holding a large black hoodie.
“here” he said shoving it in my hand. I held it up examining it, it was a high school athletic department hoodie, I turned it around seeing the number 5 on the back with the word Collins over it.
