“I’m still fucking killing you, so keep it up pup” Dez said and my dad snarled in response.
“What?” I demanded looking at Dez.
“I’ve killed people for a lot less involving you Kendal” he reminded me.
“But he’s my dad Dez, he’s not trying to hurt me or take me away” I argued, he didn’t reply but the look
on his face told me I was wrong. I shut my mouth and gave him a confused look, I looked at my dad.
My dad would never hurt me. So the only other option was he was trying to take me away?
“A–are you trying to take me away from Dez?” I asked me.
“Kendal you’re not safe with him, you’d be happier on my territory” he assured me.
“Shut it” Dez snarled.
“Territory, but you’re a rogue?” I said questionably.
“I have a territory” he said and I knew by the look he was giving me I wasn’t getting anymore, Dez got the same look when he had made up his mind. I frowned.
“Dez I want to go live with my dad” I said looking to Dez, his eyes widened slightly.
“What?” he demanded loudly.
“I want to go live with my dad.” I repeated calmly. Dez looked like he was about to shift so I took a cautious step back just in case.
“No” he said after he calmed down.
“Why not? You don’t want me here, you don’t care about me, I would be happier with my dad. There’s no reason for me to be here if we aren’t going to mate, and you can barely stand a conversation with me at
times, plus-”
“Kendal, this isn’t up for negotiation. You aren’t leaving me” Dez said sternly.
“But-”
“End of discussion” he said loudly causing me to cringe a little.
“You’re starting a war here Collins” My father warned lowly.

“You. Can’t. Have. What’s. Mine.” Dez seethed to him his eyes changing colors.
“Start a damn war, but Kendal is mine” he said possessively I fought back a shiver, chewing on my lip.
“Collins we have a problem” Michael said quietly, causing Dez’s eyes to flick up momentarily. I knew he was using the pack link, his eyes changed colors again and he stormed out barking orders at people. I sighed in defeat taking my eyes off the floor. My dad gave me a small smile, as Michael and Atticus started walking him to the door. I watched just standing there, when they left I sat down on the ocuh thinking about things.
Dez didn’t deny not wanting me here, he didn’t deny not caring about me, he didn’t deny that we were never going to mate but yet he still wouldn’t let me go.
Why?
What’s the point of me being here if we’re never going to mate, at least at my dad’s I would be happy. I could start a new life, get a job, get to know my father, maybe get a mate that actually cares, have a couple kids.
I sighed out loud and rubbed my head, I was getting a throbbing headache. I waited drowning myself in thoughts, for Dez to return. He finally did and he was pissed, he burst through the door with a loud bang that made me jump and momentarily stop breathing. I grabbed my chest trying to get my heartbeat back
on track.
I didn’t say anything, he stood in the doorway for a minute just looking at me before going to his desk, he leaned against his desk looking at the door expectantly. I followed his hard gaze, finding there was no one
there.
Eventually two men appeared.
One was large with blonde curly hair and piercing blue eyes. His skin was sun kissed and he was muscular and very attractive. Dez growled out loud his head snapping to me at these thoughts. I rolled my eyes and put my wall up ignoring his eyes drilling holes in my head.
The next was smaller and scrawnier, about the average male size. 6, 3 he was a lean and skinny, but didn’t lack muscle. He had a sleeve of tattoos on his left arm and was cute. His face was round and he had
dimples, he was young probably my age.
Dez stared at them and they stared back, he set his jaw and I shifted in my seat. Why is Dez so damn sexy? Everything he does is sexy, just the way he holds himself is enough to make every seat in the house wet, especially mine. I crossed my arms over my chest, and the two men cast quick glances at me their eyes definitely not lingering. I knew it was because Dez was standing there staring them down and my hair was up showing off his mark that decorated my neck.
I usually got a lot of unwanted attention from any man I met werewolf or not but since I had been around Dez, I wasn’t normally bothered, guys didn’t look me over or hit on me that much anymore.

Honestly it was so relieving to not feel like a walking target; don’t get me wrong I can handle myself but feeling uncomfortable around very guy having to guess his abilities the first time I saw him wasn’t my favorite thing to do. Now I felt safe for the most part, I had gotten in trouble a few times but Dez was always there protecting me.
