Chapter 5
The Bloodmoon Pack’s annual celebration feast was bustling with energy, the grand hall packed with wolves from allied packs. The center of attention was Flora White who was draped in a custom feathered ceremonial gown. The figure–hugging design accentuated her flawless curves, and standing beside Silan Grant in his formal Alpha regalia, they looked like a picture–perfect pair of pack leaders.
When she noticed me, her expression shifted slightly before she gracefully approached. With a chalice of red wolfsbane wine in hand, her steps towards me were painfully poised.
“Long time no see, Laurel,” she said mockingly. “Welcome to our feast.”
She paused dramatically, smirking. “But I must say, it’s rare to see a Luna like you–knowing her mate is bonding with another wolf yet staying so calm. You must have the patience of a sleeping pup!”
She laughed lightly, her tone laced with venom, treating me like an insignificant outsider.
I smiled faintly, unbothered by her attempt to provoke me. “Not as impressive as you, Miss White. Becoming the other wolf with such flair–truly admirable.”
Her expression faltered with irritation, but before she could retort, Silan appeared beside her. When his gaze landed on me, a flicker of amazement crossed his face.
“You’re here just in time,” he said with a charming smile. “Come stand with me later during the address. Let everyone see how radiant my Luna is.”
I was wearing a strapless gown adorned with priceless embroidery in the Bloodmoon Pack’s colors, the fabric hugging my figure perfectly. My naturally striking features drew the attention of everyone in the room, their gazes lingering as I moved.
Flora bit her lip, clearly displeased. “Silan, didn’t you say you’d address the pack with me? Why her
now?”
Silan’s face darkened, and his tone grew cold. “Don’t cause a scene during such an important gathering. Go sit down and wait for me.”
Realizing it wasn’t the moment to argue, Flora reluctantly stomped her foot and stalked off.
Silan leaned in closer, lowering his voice as he took my hand and led me toward the stage. “This feast is crucial for securing alliances with the neighboring packs. Just stand there and look regal–don’t mess this up.”
The pack elder hosting the feast handed him the speaking staff. “Let’s give a warm round of howls for Alpha Grant and his beautiful Luna!”

Silan delivered a short, motivational speech with his commanding tone that resonated through the hall, while I stood silently beside him, offering no response. My presence was enough to uphold appearances.
As his speech concluded, the elder stepped forward again. “Now, let us enjoy a special presentation on the Bloodmoon Pack’s rich history, narrated by Alpha Grant himself!”
The audience turned their attention to the grand screen behind us. Silan smiled confidently and cleared his throat to begin, but froze when he turned to glance at the screen.
What played wasn’t the planned pack history–it was a video.
Silan and Flora, tangled in each other’s arms on a bed, flashed across the screen for all to see.
