Chapter 31
I took a deep breath of fresh air slamming the door, I paced waiting for him to get out, he got out and just walked in the door like he owned the place.
“Alpha Collins” a blonde chirped, her eyes narrowing as I walked in behind him.
“Whose this?” she asked, her voice bitter and curious.
“My mate” he said hardly, her eyes widened and her eyes flicked down to my mark, she glared at it coolly before completely ignoring my existence.
“shame” she muttered under her breath quietly. I could feel anger rising in my chest, on impulse I reached out for Dez’s hand clasping it in mine. I froze realizing what I had just done, feeling the tingles run up my arm. I could feel him stiffen beside me, but he just tightened his grip on my hand.
My hand was so small in his, my hand was about as big as three of his fingers. But somehow my hand fit perfectly in his, his hand as warm and sending distracting sparks up my arm that was causing me to hyperventilate, the blonde was looking down at some piece of paper, she looked up from it, narrowing her eyes at our intertwined hands.
I couldn’t keep the smirk off my face as she looked at me, she glared at me before turning to Dez, fixing
her shirt a little.
“Alpha Collins you’re in the same room as always” she said flashing him a bright white smile, I rolled my eyes, feeling the need to growl lowly, to show that he was mine. Dez was mine, I was baring his mark not her. I didn’t know why I felt so angry and jealous but the fact that she had dared to look at me the way she did almost had me coming unglued. I tried to calm down but it seemed impossible.
My wolf was royally pissed she dared to even fucking look at us like that. I had a much higher rank than her, she shouldn’t have even thought of looking at me that way. I was royally pissed because she had been flirting with my mate, knowing he was mine.
“Don’t hesitate if you’re” she paused her eyes flicking to me “Unsatisfied, to call me if you need anything” I scoffed loudly, letting out a low growl causing Dez to looked at me, I glared at her about ready to come across this damn hallway. I could take her any day of the damn week. She gave me a last look, before
turning around and leaving, I glared after as she left.
“Are you jealous?” Dez asked me sounding amused.
“Lead the way, Alpha Collins” I said bitterly yanking my hand out of his. It felt so wrong, he clenched his jaw slightly before leading me down a few hallway into a room, it was huge. Like almost bigger than
Dez’s room.

I could probably play baseball in here. “You can have the bed” he said I looked at the couch, surprisingly he might actually fit on this couch, it was pretty big. I didn’t reply, I just stared at the bed, it was huge.
Like this made a king bed look like a cradle. He went to take a shower and I pulled my jeans off kicking them on the floor, I just had a t–shirt on so my ass wasn’t covered but I was under the soft covers. I almost groaned out loud, this was the literal softest bed I have ever slept on. I fidgeted a little cuddling a pillow to my chest before getting so comfortable it felt illegal to be awake.
Sleep never came, not when Dez laid down on the couch, not 3 hours after that. I couldn’t sleep, I knew why it was because my mate was near, which is stupid. I eventually just got up and decided to find a kitchen, maybe some tea or something would help me sleep. I left quietly being careful not to wake Dez. It felt relieving walking down a hallway without 3 guards trailing behind me and 3 in front of me. Being alone felt good for once.
I heard the clearing of a throat and stopped turning around finding a large man behind me.
I took a few steps back, I didn’t like the way his eyes were raking down my body considering I didn’t actually have pants on. It was 2 in the morning I didn’t expect anyone to be up.
“Hi there kitten” he said “Going somewhere?” he asked.
“Kitchen” I replied sizing him up.
“Alone?”
“Maybe”
“Are you lost?”
“No”
“Really because the kitchen is on the other side of the house” he said.
“Oh, I was on my way there” I lied.
“Funny, I’ve never seen you before, and I wasn’t aware of any new pack members” he said raising an eyebrow at me taking a few steps forward. Why does this always happen to me? Why cant guys hit on
someone else? I took a few back.
“I’m here with Dezmond Collins” I said.
“I wasn’t informed Collins was bringing a toy with him” I clenched my jaw.
“I’m his mate” I snapped at him angrily.
“Sure you are kitten” he said, I reached up to move my hair but he grabbed my wrist stopping me.
