I could faintly hear voices that seemed to be arguing. I could feel hands on me.
“Is she okay?” one asked.
“Oh shit” another replied, a pair of hands leaving my body.
“What?”
“She has Dezmond Collin’s mark” he said and all hands immediately left my body.
“Help her” one demanded.
“I’m not touching her, she’s belongs to Dezmond Collins, he’ll kill me for touching what’s his”
“She took on 6 rogues, she’s bleeding”
“I’m not touching her man”
“I’m not touching her either” another voice sounded.
“Someone get the alpha” I faintly heard footsteps before I went back into my darkness. I felt myself being picked up and then the darkness consumed for good this time.
When I finally came to, I opened my eyes to a bright light, I groaned feeling aches all over my body.
“Hey you okay there?” a voice asked, I sat up and a sharp pain erupted in my head, and black dots swam in my vision. I groaned in response blinking until my vision cleared, and I was left with a splitting
headache.
There was a guy sitting in the chair a few feet from my bed, he was blonde with bright blue eyes, and had
on some khakis and a snapback.
“Oh god, I need aspirin” I said.
“The doctor will be here in a few” he assured me.
“So you’re Dezmond Collins’s mate” he stated, my heart clenched and I resisted the urge to sit straighter with pride.
“sort of” I answered rubbing my eyes, my hands hurt, my knuckles were swollen.
“Sort of how?” he pried.

Chapter 6
“Where am I?” I asked looking around the room, it was pretty simple, a bed and a dresser, and the chair
that was being occupied by the man who was probably here to watch me.
“I can’t tell you, but I can tell you you’re mate has been contacted”
“what?” I demanded.
“We contacted your mate”
“Why the hell did you do that? What did he say?” I asked.
“Were you running away from him?” he questioned.
“What did he say?” I asked.
“I don’t know, my alpha is still speaking with him” he said shrugging.
“I have to- I have to go” I said standing up feeling all the aches all over my body.
“Whoa” he said standing up holding his hands out, I stopped looking at him for a minute deciding if he
was an actual threat or not “I can’t let you leave” he told me.
“Why not?”
“I’m not allowed to let you leave the room” he said, I let out a breath of annoyance and sat back down. We
sat in silence until two men walked in. I knew one was an alpha by how large he was, and the other came
towards me while the alpha stood in the doorway.
“Hi I’m Doctor Hall” he said holding a hand out, I stared at it until he awkwardly dropped it.
“Can I leave now?” I asked looking at the alpha in the doorway, he was tall and large, but not as big as
Dez. He looked middle aged telling me he had probably been here a few hundred years, his eyes were a
dull brown and his hair was cut short but I could tell it had once been curly.
“No, your mate wants you back” he told me.
“He said that?” I asked.
“Yes” he said nodding. “Are you ready to leave?” I nodded hesitantly.
Why would Dez even want me? I thought he was cold, and heartless and didn’t care about anyone. Just
because he wanted me at his pack didn’t mean he cared about me, I reminded myself.
The doctor gave me 4 aspirin before we left, I fell asleep on the way there and was shaken awake by the same guy who was babysitting me in the room earlier. I followed the alpha in a house, it seemed cold and empty, he seemed to know where he was going.

Chapter 6
The electricity sparked up in my body the second Dez’s scent hit my nose. I gritted my teeth trying to keep from running to him, I was getting irritated by how slow we were walking down the hallway. I was still cold, but I could almost already feel Dez’s warmth.
He knocked on the door before opening it, I walked in behind him seeing my mate sitting behind a desk, his hand shoved in his hair, and he looked up as we walked in, my breath caught in my throat at the perfect view. He had on a normal maroon t–shirt showing off his sleeve of tattoos, he now had black earrings in his ears and he looked so sexy. My baby sitter stepped in front of me hiding me from view.
I could feel anger rising in my chest. What the hell was he doing? I wanted to see my mate, and he was getting in the way, I could feel my skin heat up as my wolf tried to come forward, I swallowed hardly pushing her away, wrapping my arms around myself.
“Michael” my mate spoke and a violent shiver ran down my voice at his amazing gruff voice.
“Take her downstairs” he said, and a man roughly shoved my baby sitter out of the way. I got a glimpse of my mate, and he looked furious, before the man held the door opened for me to walk in first. I hesitantly glanced back at Dez who was still watching me, I caught his gorgeous eyes for a second before I was urged forward, I stepped into the hallway with the man and he started down it. I scrambled after him having to pick up my pace to keep up with his large strides.
