Chapter 135
“Please” I added lightly, he nodded and I got up to go to the bathroom, because I had to go really badly, I finally found the restroom in my buzzed haze. I went to the bathroom and washed my hands feeling the effects of the alcohol wear off slightly, but I was still a little tipsy. I stood there for a minute staring at myself in the mirror. My eyes were big and brighter than usually, my face was lit up and my cheeks were tinged pink. I took a deep breath and then went back to our table where Jay was waiting patiently.
3 weeks later……
I got up early and started breakfast, Jay had left early in the morning to go to some meeting so I was on my own. It was still cold outside, so I decided on just tights and converses with a simple hoodie. It was my first day of college and I was excited, my stomach was twisting in knots, so I made breakfast for no reason. I put all the food on a plate and stopped by my dad’s office to give him some.
“Kendal” he said happily as I walked in and set the plate of steaming hot food on his desk.
“Aren’t you just the little angel today” he stated.
“I have to go, but love you dad, I’ll call you later” I promised rushing out. I made my 8am class just in time and got out all the stuff I needed. I grabbed a simple smoothie for lunch and talked to Jay for about 15 mínutes about how it was so far and then returned to my classes. Finally, I was through and I was walking out when I stopped in mid tracks.
There standing directly next to car, even leaning against it casually was Drew. The guy who had come to “collect” me from my father and Jay a while back, my stomach sank. I knew I could take him on by myself, I was still afraid though.
I pulled my phone out and texted Eric, giving him a brief summary of what was going on, as I walked to
me car.
“Well, well, well, Ms. Kendal Collins in the flesh.” He said playfully as I walked up, I stopped a few feet
away.
“What do you want?” I asked wrapping my arms around myself, his eyes lit up.
“Just want to have a little chat, that’s all, no need to be alarmed” he said walking towards me slowly putting his hands up, I sized him up.
“A little chat with who?” I asked taking a step back, feeling fear drop to the pit of my stomach.
“My boss, and his boss, some important people who are very interested in meeting you, but don’t worry, your mate will be there no harm will come to you” he promised, I glared at him.

“Jay is going to be there?” I asked.
“I said your mate sweetheart, not your little play toy.” He repeated firmly.
“Dezmond?” I said bitterly, wrapping my arms tightly around myself.
“Aw, now don’t be like that, I heard you gave him cute nicknames and had him whipped, don’t sound too upset now.” I gritted my teeth and rolled my eyes.
“I’m not going anywhere with you.” I finally said, and one of his eyebrows rose.
“Do what he says Kendal” I heard a deep voice say that sent shivers down my back and seemed to make all my muscles relax immediately. I let out a small gasp whipping around, feeling my knees go weak at the sight of him.
God I’m pathetic.
I felt like I had been hit in the stomach and the breath had been knocked out of me, my heart was thudding in my ears. I regained my composure.
“I’m not going anywhere with you either” I stated glaring at him, his honey brown eyes softened and he looked amused.
“Well, you get to pick, me or him, you’re going either way.” Dez said his cold eyes running down my body. I instantly wished I had worn jeans and not tights.
“I’ll
go with him.” I said smugly, and his eyes held disbelief for a split second before they turned back into his icy stare. I knew he expected me to go with him. And I would rather put myself in the vicinity of this horrid “Drew” person, who was honestly creepy, than be anywhere near Dezmond at this point in my life.
“Oh, young love at its finest” Drew purred being me tauntingly, I rolled my eyes and turned back around to face him. Suddenly my body froze as strong arms wrapped around my waist, and shock waves sent heat to my core and warmth to my chest. My body immediately relaxed back into him, and a feeling of safety washed over me. His musky scent surrounded me and I bit down on my lip to keep in my moan.
I forgot how good he felt, and how he made me feel.
I also forgot how much he didn’t care about me, with that thought my body stiffened and I jerked myself from him. Every nerve in my body screamed in protest, how could something that felt so right be so wrong?
