“Oh my gosh that’s so great, everyone is going to be so excited to see you!”
“Hope so” I said.
“So is this your mate?” she asked looking at Jay awkwardly whom I totally forgot about.
“Uh, yeah” I lied, I didn’t feel like explain the whole situation. “This is Jay” I told her.
“Jamie” she said sticking her hand out, he shook it.
“So are you expecting or do you already kids?” she asked her eyes falling down to my stomach, I shook my head.
“Nope, not yet” I told her casually. “How about you?” I asked, she shook her head.
“okay well, I know you want sweet tea and what did you say you wanted?” she asked Jay.
“Water” he replied,
“okay, well I’ll be back, I’m so glad you’re here” she said and left. I sat back down smiling at him.
“Old friend?” he questioned.
I shrugged “We weren’t friends, but we went to high school together.” I said.
“She seemed to know you”
“Small school, everyone knew me” I replied shrugging. “Do you know what you want?” I asked not wanting to talk about my whole high school experience right this second. His eyebrows raised and he looked amused, like he knew exactly what I was doing.
A different waitress I didn’t know came back and took our order, I could see Jamie busy with the other side of the room. Our food came and he looked at my giant plate piled with a piece of chicken fried steak the size of my head with gravy and my 3 sides.
“You’re going to eat all that?” he asked skeptically.
“Boy, yes” I replied digging in, he watched me carefully. I groaned.
“I forgot how good the food was here” he laughed shaking his head. I ate all my food and even took bites of his and I could see the look of astonishment, finally after saying bye to Jamie we left and went back
home.

My dad came home a few days later, but I stayed at Jay’s. We went on at least one date a day, and we always had fun where ever we went. We got closer, he made me feel special.
“Are you ready?” he asked coming into the bathroom,
“Almost” I responded, his eyebrows shot up he looked me up and down, I watched his reaction closely while applying a bobby pin to my hair.
“Problem?” I asked, he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me.
“You look amazing” he told me kissing my check, I smiled at him, he wasn’t dressed yet. But usually he waited until I was done to get dressed because it took me a million times longer and he didn’t want to sit around in nice clothes. I had on a cute little dress that was casual. The top was maroon with quarter sleeves and the bottoms flowed out and stopped an inch or two between mid thigh with a floral print. It kind of looked like a sundress if you asked me, just tighter and shorter. I put my hair up in a pony tail and I put on a small necklace and I slipped on some black heels that were lace with a 2 inch platform.
I grabbed a leather jacket just in case, he hadn’t told me where we were going yet.
“Ready” I called loudly, he came out of the closet in a full tux, he looked hella attractive. I eyed him. He was a freaking god in just jeans, him in a tux was just adding to mix. The good lord knew what he was doing when he created this one. Dear god, he was basic eye candy. His tux made him appear older and like a god.
“Stop looking at me like that” he told me, my eyes flicked to his face. Why did he have to be so attractive?
Tuxes make men 30 times more attractive.
“Am I under dressed?” I asked him choosing to avoid his comment.
“You look beautiful in everything it doesn’t matter.” He responded his tone still clipped, he was being extra feisty tonight I didn’t know what got him all riled up but I could see an underlying playful tone in his eyes which let me know nothing was actually wrong.
I went downstairs and grabbed a black clutch to match my shoes, I took my phone and some necessities. And he helped me in his truck.
“Where are we going?” I asked him as he turned the truck on, he didn’t respond and completely avoided my question.
“Jay” I said after a little while.
“Yes love?” he responded.
“Where are we going?” I repeated, he completely blew me off and acted like i didn’t even ask a question.
“Seriously?” he looked over at me and smiled, making my anger fade. He took my hand, kissing it softly.

“Relax” he told me.
“You know I don’t like surprises” I whined.
“I know.” He replied, I did as told and leaned back and just watched where we were going. We pulled into some extremely nice restaurant. I mean like, super nice.
“What’s the occasion?” I asked him as he parked.
“I need an occasion to take my girlfriend out?” he asked me with an attitude. I raised an eyebrow and let out a little growl in response.
