Chapter 117
“You give me butterflies” I told him quietly playing with his hand, he smiled at me.
“It would take me all day to describe what you do to me, beautiful” he told me lightly tracing my jaw with
his thumb, I smiled at him.
What did I ever do in my life to deserve this boy?
“Come here” I said holding my arms out scooting over towards the wall. He took his shoes off and then laid down, I wrapped my arms around him sticking my freezing feet under his shirt, I felt his abs flex and he made a noise and I giggled in response.
It felt good to just lay here, with him. Just feel him here next to me, not worried about him leaving or getting upset. He didn’t say anything, he took one of my hands and played with it, occasionally kissing it. I sighed, Jay actually smelled really good. I turned on my side towards him taking his hand and clutching it to my chest, his arm was like the length of my body. This felt right. It didn’t feel wrong like I expected. Jay wasn’t my mate but yet, I felt safe and comfortable around him. I didn’t feel guilty for thinking about him.
Maybe it was because for the past few weeks I could feel the pain of Dez cheating on me, maybe it was because I knew he didn’t love me and Jay did. How could I believe that Dez loved me if he was constantly cheating on me. Even when we were together, did I honestly believe that? I blinded myself completely, maybe I just told myself he did. Did he ever actually show me that, through actions?
“What are you thinking about?” Jay asked me quietly, staring at me intently, I looked up at him running my fingers softly over the back of his hand.
“I’m thinking that this feels right” I whispered, “Doesn’t it?” I asked looking up at him, he nodded.
“Do you feel guilty?” he asked me reaching up to brush hair out of my face, and the resting his hand in the crook of my neck. I shook my head.
“I don’t think… I don’t think he ever really loved me…” I finally said.
“Because he’s cheating?” he questioned.
“No, when we were together…” I trailed off not sure how to put it into words.
“Did he ever tell you he did?” he asked me.
“Once.” I told him, his jaw clenched, I could see the anger in his eyes but he didn’t say anything.
“I’m never going to treat you like that.” He told me.

Chapter 117
“I know” I responded giving him a small smile, we laid there for a little while until I decided I was actually really hungry and I sat up and reached over him to get my donuts. He stayed quiet watching me. He reached over and pulled my sleeve over my shoulder, since it had fallen off.
His phone started vibrating, and he looked irritated as he answered it. He hung up and sat up, my heart
sunk.
“You have to go?” I asked, he nodded.
“I’ll come back after” he promised standing up and putting his hand in the crook of my neck and kissing my forehead.
“Wait” I said grabbing onto his wrist before he pulled away, I put my hand behind his neck and pulled his lips on mine. His lips were warm and somehow molded to mine perfectly. Butterflies erupted in my stomach, he seemed just as surprised as I was with myself. I could feel his lips smiling against mine and it made my heart beat fast knowing that he was actually so happy to kiss me that he couldn’t contain his smile. I pulled away keeping my fingers buried in his hair. He kept our foreheads pressed together, and I hadn’t been breathing so I took in a deep breath.
He leaned back in and gave me another quick kiss that made my stomach twist in knots.
“Why did you do that?” he asked me kissing me again, I couldn’t respond because I didn’t know myself and I didn’t know if I could talk.
“Now I’m never going to get anything done today” he said kissing me again, making me smile. He tried to pull away but I pulled him closer. Finally, I let him go and he pulled away giving me a few quick kisses. I was a little light headed, the effect he had on me was crazy. I actually legitimately cared about him.
“Okay, have fun” I told him grinning widely at him, he grinned back.
“I’ll call you the second I’m done” he promised, kissing my cheek and then leaving. I sighed and then ate the rest of my doughnuts‘. I went downstairs finding Angel, I just sort of chilled with her all day, she made dinner but my dad wasn’t answering his phone, and neither was Jay or Eric. Which bothered me.
I put on a hoodie and some tights, and converse and threw my hair up in a messy pony tail. I grabbed a plate for my dad and went to his office. I went up the stairs slowly and then knocked quietly before walking in. They all talking automatically stopped talking the second I walked in.
