Chapter 112
“What?” she asked me looking confused that I was probably staring at her.
“You’re beautiful” I told her, I hated the fact that when I told her that, she looked surprised. Like no one had ever told her how gorgeous she was. It made me furious that Dezmond had this, and he obviously didn’t appreciate her at all. He didn’t even know what he had, how special she was. She was the kindest person I had ever met.
She was always looking out for everyone around her, despite everything he had put her through. The next time I saw him, I was going to give him a piece of my mind. He’s a fucking idiot.
“Oh” she said her eyes dropping and a small shade of pink tinged her cheeks.
“What do you want?” I asked her.
“Cereal” she said sheepishly giving me a grin, I grinned back.
“I take you out on a date, and you order cereal?” I asked her, she gave me a cute small smile and
shrugged her shoulders. God she was cute, I could barely breathe.
“Okay” I said nodding. The lady came to take our orders, I told her what I wanted, I could see the way the woman was looking at me. And I couldn’t believe she had the nerve, when I obviously had Kendal, who was beyond gorgeous, with me. I looked at her resting my elbows on the table, she was oblivious to the
woman and her intentions.
“Jay” she said timidly, I loved the way my name fell from her lips, good lord this girl is going to be the death of me. I gave her a small nod telling her I was listening, she already had my full attention. Her small hands that had the sleeves of her sweater pulled into them dropped into her lap and she leaned forward a little, her eyes had almost a scared look in them and she was biting down on her pink bottom
lip.
“Are you ever going to tell me what you are?” she asked me quietly, I could see her judging my reaction. I kept my cool, she deserved to know, it’s not like it was a secret, it was just something I didn’t like to talk
about. I was afraid she wouldn’t want to be with me if I told her. She would be afraid of me.
“My mother was a demon” I told her the awful thought of my mother crossing through my head, I watching her reaction. She looked surprised and then she went into deep thought, her brows furrowed and she was chewing on her bottom lip.
“Like a real one?” she asked, I nodded.
“So, you’re a werewolf… demon… hybrid?” she finally said questionably, I nodded again.

Chapter 112
“So what can you do? Like can you shift?” she asked me curiosity shining in her big green eyes.
“I can’t shift”
“Do
you
have a wolf?” she asked, I shook my head.
“Do you have any werewolf traits?” she asked me.
“I’m big like a werewolf, I’m warm blooded, I’m fast and strong. I favor mostly on the demon side. I can feel people’s emotions, and know their weaknesses. When I lose my temper it’s hard to get back in control…” she listened intently.
“Is that how you know what people are thinking?” she asked, I nodded.
“What are my weaknesses?” she asked me suddenly.
“What?” I replied as she took me by surprise.
“What are my weaknesses?” she repeated, she looked oddly excited and interested rather than frightened like I expected. I just told her I’m half demon and she doesn’t look scared of me at all, she wasn’t fazed one bit. Where did she come from? Who created this angel? She was amazing.
“You see the good in people, even if it’s not there. And, you forgive, and you’re kind, and you love everyone you lay your eyes on” I told her.
“That just sounds like I’m a normal person” she said stated shrugging not looking impressed. I’d never met anyone with a soul as pure as hers. Even after everything she had been through, I would expect it to be tainted, but hers wasn’t. She was strong.
I shook my head “I’ve never met anything like you” I told her studying her before me.
“I’m just a person.” She said dismissing me. She never saw her own worth. She never saw her own beauty. She was so innocent. I hated how she had been treated. I didn’t respond, and I didn’t have to, because our food came and she got distracted, her attention span was nonexistent. When she would babble she would jump from one thing to another and eventually make her way back to what she was originally talking about.
We left and the first words out of her mouth when we walked out of the door were “How could you eat that much?” I laughed at her amazement and opened the door for her. We went to the park and I bought her some cheesecake flavored ice cream because it was her favorite. We walked around for a little while and even through her constant talking I could see her eyes lingering on every baby that went by in a stroller. I didn’t really know why, my assumption would be that she wanted one, whether she had talked about that with Dezmond I didn’t know.
