“Mr. Davis, we didn’t know she was Mrs. Davis!” one of her friends exclaims, fear
etched on her face. “If we had, we wouldn’t have dared to touch her!”
“Yes! It was all Jessica’s idea,” another chimes in, panic spilling from her lips. “We were just following her lead!”
“Ripping Mrs. Davis’ clothes off, burning her hair, cutting her tongue, and ordering some men to rape her to death, these are all Jessica’s idea! We have nothing with it.”
“You should blame Jessica. We are not at fault!”
Their betrayal hangs in the air like a thick fog, each word dripping with
self-preservation. Suddenly, the unity they once shared crumbles, leaving Jessica
isolated and furious.
“You backstabbing witches!” Jessica spits, her face flushed with rage. “You all were so eager to join in when you thought it was just a game! Now that the situation gets serious, you want to throw me under the bus?”
The tension escalates, with accusations flying back and forth.
“You think you’re special just because you’re with Mr. Davis? You’re just a substitute!” one of her friends shoots back, emboldened by the chaos.
“Look at you! You got a taste of power and thought you could be a somebody, but you’re just a cheap replacement!” another adds.
Meanwhile, Charles stands silently, his expression darkening with each word exchanged.
His eyes glint with a dangerous intensity, and the air around him c**es with anger.
The bickering continues. Clearly, Jessica and her friends are oblivious to the storm brewing just a few feet away.
The night drags on, and Charles remains outside the emergency room, a statue of despair and rage. He does not move, does not speak, as the world around him fades
away.

At Charles Davis’s feet lie the lifeless bodies of Jessica and her friends, sprawled in gruesome disarray.
Each one bears the marks of a violent end, their faces freeze in expressions of horror
and disbelief, as if they have suffered unimaginable agony in their final moments.
Seeing this situation, all the doctors fall to their knees, trembling: “Mr. Davis, the
patient is already dead. We really can’t do anything…”

But Charles doesn’t spare them a glance. He walks straight past them indifferently and enters the emergency room.
He approaches the bed, his heart pounding as he reaches out to touch my cold, lifeless
face. The tenderness in his gesture contrasts sharply with the chaos surrounding him.
“Scarlet,” he whispers, his voice breaking. “I promised I would always protect you. I’m
so sorry.”
With each word, his desperation grows.
He lifts me into his arms, cradling me gently as if I were the most precious thing in the
world.
He walks to the window, the wind tousling his hair, and holds me close.
“Scarlet, I’ll always be with you,” he vows, his voice filled with emotion. And with that,
