Chapter 2
Stella strutted over, flanked by a group of classmates. She swayed her hips as she walked up to Landon, grabbed his face, and planted a loud kiss on his cheek.
“Darling, Daddy and Mommy are already on their way. Why are you so slow?” she said in a sickly
sweet voice.
“Oh, and the mattress we bought in the Maldives last week just got delivered. My period’s finally
over–how about we try it out tonight?”
Since I last saw Stella, she had gained at least 120 pounds, yet she still loved wearing tight dresses.
Her protruding belly jiggled as she walked, her triple chin quivering, with traces of grease still clinging to the crevices.
As if to provoke me, Stella licked Landon’s earlobe after kissing him, her face showing a look of
satisfaction.
Landon’s face turned as pale as a sheet. He instinctively covered his mouth.
“What’s wrong, darling?” Stella asked.
Landon forced a smile.
“Nothing. I might’ve eaten something bad last night–my stomach feels a little off.”
Stella clung to his arm, casting me a disdainful glance.
“Figures. Who wouldn’t feel sick around a broke fraud who sells herself for money?”
People’s eyes never lie. I knew Landon well, and just now, he was clearly disgusted.
Even when Stella clung to his arm, his gaze was filled with resistance.
Thinking of the bank card, I immediately asked,
Landon, tell me the truth. Did Stella threaten you? What did she force you to do?”
“Don’t be afraid of this fat pig. I can help you.”
ella’s eyes widened instantly. Pointing her finger at me, she screeched,

“You dare call me that, you filthy tramp? Slap her face until it’s unrecognizable!”
two girls standing nearby immediately stepped forward, their faces gleaming with malice.
“Caroline Tanner, you always act so high and mighty. We thought you were a real Tanner heiress, but you’re just a broke fraud!”
“If Stella hadn’t transferred here, we’d all still be in the dark. You fooled everyone. Today, we’ll teach you a lesson.”
These two girls had seemed friendly with me before. Turns out, they were only interested in my
“status.”
Now that Stella Tanner had returned and realized she’d been currying favor with the wrong person–and nearly offended the Tanner family–she was naturally furious.
I frowned at the two girls and said coldly,
“If you dare lay a hand on me today, your families‘ companies can prepare for bankruptcy.”
Seeing the seriousness on my face, the two hesitated.
Stella sneered like she’d just heard a hilarious joke.
“Caroline Tanner, do you really think you’re still part of the Tanner family just because you shamelessly cling to the surname?”
“You’re nothing but a dog we kicked out. What gives you the right to threaten anyone? Don’t listen to
her nonsense. Hit her! One slap, one million.”
The two girls‘ eyes instantly lit up. While their families were moderately wealthy, their parents would never casually hand over a million as pocket money. Rubbing their hands, one of them said,
“In that case, I’ll aim for ten million.”
Before they could act, Landon Banks, who had been silent until now, suddenly shoved them to the
ground and shouted,
“Get lost!”
Stella’s face darkened, her eyes narrowing.
“Landon, don’t tell me you’re trying to protect this tramp? Hmm?”
