Chapter 127
Ever since the housewarming party, they had not yet had any contact with each other. They preferred it this way because it would be hard to stop, once they fell into a habit. More so, Archie wouldn’t be able to play his new role as the alpha of the pack if he was still in contact with Silas, since he would ask his opinion every now and then.
He used to follow Silas’s command, thus it wouldn’t be ideal for him to act that way.
Therefore, the fact the two of them were here was a surprise for Silas. They wouldn’t be here if it was not something important and urgent.
“Kean, Archie, long time no see,” Hazel greeted them, she looked happy to see the two of them there. “Come in, come in.” She opened the door for both of them. “I will make some coffee for the two of you.”
However, Silas declined that. “No. No need to bother with them, they can make their own coffee.”
“I don’t mind if Hazel insisted to make a cup of coffee for me,” Kean grinned. He tried to lessen the tension, because of what they were going to discuss, but his intention was rewarded with a harsh glare from Silas, who didn’t appreciate that.
“You need to rest, I will handle them.”
“Hey, what do you mean you will handle us?” Kean crossed his arms in front of his chest. He looked at Hazel closely. “Are you sick?”
“No, I am pregnant,” Hazel replied with a chuckle.
“Pregnant?!” Kean and Archie were surprised. “Wow, congratulation!”
“How long are you?” Archie asked again.
“Two months.” Hazel showed her two fingers happily. She wanted to chat with them more, but Silas had guided her to the bedroom. “See you later,” she said, waving her hand at Kean and Archie.
“Make your own drink,” Silas said, as he escorted Hazel to the bedroom. She was still complaining, but once she yawned, Silas didn’t leave any room for negotiation.
“She is pregnant?” Kean frowned. “Really? Do you think it’s a good thing?”
Both of them knew what it meant, the pregnancy was a high risk one, though they didn’t know in detail how dangerous it could be.
“I am not sure. But, if she and Silas look fine, I think there is nothing to be worried.” Archie then went to the kitchen and make his own coffee, followed by Kean.
They were waiting for an hour until Silas came out of the bedroom, he gestured for the two of them to follow him outside to the balcony.
“Why don’t we talk in the living room?” Kean protested, he just eaten his cookies and enjoyed his coffee.
“I don’t want to wake her up.” Silas ushered the two of them to the balcony and closed the door behind him.
“You are being too much.” Kean protested, but Archie didn’t say anything, since he knew how Silas was whenever he was being overprotective. It had been a while since he saw this side of him again.
“What do you want to talk
was behind him. Thankfully,
Silas asked, he looked at the two of them, as he leaned against the railing. The city light sky was clear tonight and the wind was not as cold like the other night.
“Is she alright with the pregnancy?” Archie started.

Silas didn’t want to answer that question. “What do you want to talk about?” he repeated his question, indicating that he didn’t want to answer his question related to Hazel’s pregnancy.
Seeing this, Archie could smell trouble. Silas avoided talking about the pregnancy could only mean there was problem that he didn’t want to share with them.

However, knowing him, there was no way for him to make him talk if he didn’t want to. In that case, they could only discuss the reason why they were there.
“There is a problem in the shifter world, Silas. I don’t know whether you are aware of this or not,” Archie started.
“No. I don’t know anything.” If there was a problem in the shifter world, obviously alpha Sam didn’t talk about it with him when he came to visit him a few weeks ago. The doctor, who took care of Hazel didn’t mention anything about it, which was understandable. “What happened? And why you came to me? You should go to alpha Karell.”
“We are here because alpha Karell asked us to talk to you about this matter.” Archie started with his explanation.
“And why he didn’t come to me directly?” Silas shook his head, even before he finished his question, he already knew the answer of it.
Alpha Karell didn’t want to get involved with Silas directly because the punishment came from him and it would be laughable, if he was the one, who broke it.
“What’s the matter?” Silas crossed his arms. He didn’t care what was the problem in the shifter world, since he had his own problem right now. He couldn’t care less to focus on something else aside from his mate and their… baby.
However, because Archie and Kean had come to meet with him, at the very least, he needed to listen to what they were going to say.
“I know, this is not right to ask for your help, especially because of the punishment.” Archie looked at Silas.
“Yeah, that’s why alpha Karell asked us to come here to visit your Kean shrugged his shoulder. “We agreed only because we missed you.”
Silas laughed. “Stop with the sweet talking, what’s the problem?”
“Human seemingly has realized about our existence and started three months ago, a few shifters have gone missing.”
“How can you be so sure that’s human who had taken them?”
“One of them managed to escape from the facility.”
“Facility?” Silas frowned. “What is that?”
“Apparently, human started to study about us in more detail.”
“This is what we feared the most if human knew about our existence, knowing how greedy they can be.”
