Chapter 3
“Of course, you’re my one and only, darling,” Silas Dawn murmured, his tone smooth as silk.
“Don’t you see?” Ethan whispered, his voice brimming with ambition. “Celeste Moonridge comes from one of the wealthiest Alpha bloodlines in the region. Once I mate with her and secure her family’s resources–whether through bonding or separation–I’ll have everything
I need to build the life we deserve.”
He leaned in closer, a cruel smile tugging at his lips. “With her pack’s wealth, we can finally Leave the shadows of rogues behind and live the life we’ve always wanted. No more
scraping by, no more hiding.”
He pressed a lingering kiss to Summer Gray’s temple, his arm tightening possessively
around her waist. “I just need you to wait a few years. Until then, while Celeste rots in that rogue den, you’re the only treasure I need.”
Beneath my composed exterior, my wolf snarled, a storm of rage clawing at

had been playing me all along, spinning his web of deceit with Summer as his willing accomplice. The betrayal burned like fire in my veins, and my wolf howled for vengeance.
Hearing me shift slightly, Summer tensed and glanced at me nervously, clutching Silas’s
arm.
“Silas, should we give her another dose of sedative?” she whispered, her voice quivering. “She looks like she’s waking up.”
Silas frowned, his greedy nature showing. “Those vials aren’t cheap… Kane, how much longer until we’re there?”
I suppressed a bitter laugh, my wolf stirring with quiet disdain. So, this was the man Silas trusted to drive us into the heart of danger–someone who probably haggled over the price
fuel and grumbled about every mile.
“Almost there,” Kane’s deep voice rumbled through the cramped interior of the truck, heavy with a weight that made the air feel thicker. He gestured toward the looming silhouette of agged peaks ahead, their shadows stretching like claws over the dirt path. “Once we cross
that ridge, we’ll reach the rebel outpost.”
The mountains ahead seemed to breathe their own menace, the oppressive darkness between the ridges swallowing the fading light. My wolf stirred uneasily, sensing the truth my human mind didn’t want to accept–this place wasn’t just remote; it was a trap. Every twist of the road, every shadowy overhang whispered of how impossible it would be to escape. Kane’s words might have been calm, but the foreboding in his tone told me we weren’t just approaching danger–we were stepping into its jaws.
Silas exhaled in relief. “No need for another dose. Even if she wakes up, there’s no way she can escape in these mountains.”
The scent of pine and moss was unmistakable, the terrain familiar. As we drove closer, a faint smirk tugged at my lips. They had no idea where they were taking me–straight into the outskirts of my territory.
The smell of pine and moss was recognizable, and the terrain was familiar. As we drove closer, a faint smile appeared on my lips. They didn’t know where to take me they took me directly to the edge of my territory.
I opened my eyelids, my expression groggy.
Now,the game has began..
