“Bring it on! I’m not afraid of you!” Ashton shot back, her competitive nature
flaring up. If she could win and become Nathan’s master, that would mean
she’d be on equal footing with Emmanuel.

were bitterly cold that evening, with fierce winds howling and snow swirling
everywhere. Even though both of them were martial artists, dressed in thick

“Rich people really are nuts, paying money to put themselves through this
kind of misery!” Ashton muttered, shielding her face with one hand as she
trudged through the snow.

to sharpen your skills!” Nathan quipped as he moved ahead of her, grinning
as he looked back. “Ms. Summerton, if you run into trouble, just call for me. I’ll
be sure to show off my chivalry and come to your rescue!”

the other entrance stood a couple deep in a heated exchange.
“Chiara, you shouldn’t have hit Ash! If she hit me, it was because I deserved it.
