laughter. “Master, huh? Alright! From now on, we’re master and disciple;

Sensing Teddy’s attempt to grow closer, Gautier quickly seized the
opportunity. He poured a cup of tea from the table and, following the
traditional gesture, presented it to Teddy in a formal disciple’s bow. “Master,
please have some tea!”
“Good, I’ll accept this tea!” Teddy took the cup, his expression suddenly
becoming serious. “However, let me make something clear: if you turn out to
be dull and unfit for this, I won’t hesitate to kick you out of my tutelage.”
“Understood, Master!” Gautier replied, feigning nervousness. He knew that
Teddy was intentionally intimidating him into fully dedicating himself to
training in the Dragon Tome. Teddy needed someone to test whether the
Bechnique was genuine or not. If Gautier couldn’t learn it, there would be no
way to determine its true power.

section. But no matter how thoroughly he explained it, Gautier insisted that
he couldn’t grasp it.
“Mr. Tanner, do you think my aptitude doesn’t meet your standards for an
apprentice?” Gautier reverted to his former title and put on a look of fear, as if
dreading that Teddy might expel him from his tutelage.
Haha, you’re doing fine!” Teddy laughed, stroking his beard.

Levi had already warned Teddy that Gautier was adept at hiding his abilities,
unlike most young men who were eager to show off. Now that.Teddy had
witnessed it firsthand, he realized that Gautier was even more shrewd than
he’d anticipated. The young man knew how to manage his image and
measure his performance perfectly. If Gautier had lived in more chaotic
times, he would undoubtedly have risen to become a powerful warlord.

nonetheless. After all, it was her first opportunity to make a public
appearance in West End’s high society. The event didn’t disappoint her;
representatives from various sectors of West End had come, especially
notable figures from the business world. As she mingled, the attention and
admiration from the crowd reminded her of the social banquets back in
Yeringham.
Lexi, observing Mackenzie from the sidelines, couldn’t help but admire her.
Mackenzie was like a radiant moon in the dark night–no matter where she
went, she was always the center of attention.

to open those routes again, they needed to eliminate the sect that stood in
their way.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let’s not waste time with pleasantries. Now, let’s invite
Ms. Quillen to the stage to give us clear direction!” Ken, acting as the event’s
host, stepped in to move the evening along.
“Yes, Ms. Quillen, we’re all waiting for your leadership!”

territory. He had played along.
If Mackenzie succeeded in taking down the sect, Ken would align with her. But
if she failed and died, it would only make sense for him to help Teddy Tanner
