Chapter 23

Cameron
She’s not waiting by my Range Rover after class. A frown crosses my face as I reach for my phone, only to remember it’s still in my office. So I take a lap around the school, finding the place mostly deserted, save for a couple of professors still packing up. Mrs. Helena Winters, the ever-friendly Chemistry professor, offers me a warm “good evening,” while a grumbling, perpetually grouchy Professor Thaddeus Carter brushes past me, muttering what might’ve been a goodnight, though it sounds more like a
curse.
But Storm? She’s nowhere to be found.
I finally circle back to my office to grab the phone, and as I step inside, I notice Ms. Merrin Vance has already clocked out for the day; the lights are off, leaving the room cloaked in dimness. A knot of worry tightens in my chest. Where is my angel?
As I swing the door wide, I freeze.
There she is, sitting against the edge of my desk, a bit disheveled but undeniably
beautiful.
“Hi,” she says softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Hey,” I reply, closing the door behind me. I cross my arms over my chest, studying
her.
“Sorry I didn’t meet you,” she stumbles over her words. “I just, I mean, it’s just that-
A weight of understanding settles in. This is her doubt creeping in. She’s questioning my intentions, wondering if I’m just a dirty old man who shouldn’t be touching any of his eighteen-year-old students.

Not happening. Not on my watch.
“You think this is just fun and games for me,” I murmur, keeping my tone steady.
Storm looks up, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, and her bottom lip quivers dangerously.
“Is it?” she whispers, the fragility of her expression threatening to unravel me completely.
“No,” I growl, my voice low and firm. In an instant, I’m by her side, scooping her into my arms as she gasps in shock. I crash my lips against hers, pouring every ounce of love I possess into that kiss until she melts against me.
Love.
Because what I feel for her transcends mere lust. It’s raw, it’s physical, but it’s intertwined with something deeper, something I’ve never experienced with anyone else in my life.

“This is so much more than just that,” I insist, holding her close, our hearts beating in sync. “I want all of you
you and you alone. Not just your body; I crave your entire being.” I kiss her again, cradling her face in my hands, desperate to convey everything I feel.
“Let me tell you something, Princess Liora. In case no one’s ever told you before, you are phenomenal. Perfect, gorgeous, and so d***n sweet and innocent.”
She bites her lip, and I can see the blush creeping up her cheeks.
“Well, not so much anymore,” she admits, eyes sparkling with mischief. “Innocent, that is.
I chuckle, flashing her a grin. “Still innocent, trust me. After everything I’ve witnessed in this world, you’re the purity I’ve been searching for. You’re the light I need.”
Slowly, she melts into me, burying her face in my chest as she wraps her arms around
me.

“I want that too, Cameron, but what about what people-”
“Forget what people think,” I snarl. “Or what they say. I don’t give a d***n.”
“What about your job?”
I shake my head firmly, cutting her off. “We’ll figure it out. All I know is, you’re everything I’ve always wanted, and I’m damn certain I’m never letting you go.”
“Please don’t,” she whispers, leaning in for another kiss that sends shivers down my spine.
“Was this whole thing why you didn’t meet me? Is this what you were worrying about?”
Her throat works as she swallows, the truth glimmering in her
eyes.
“There’s something expression.

She shakes her head, suddenly looking frightened.
“Tell me what’s going on, angel.”
“It’s nothing,” she sighs, turning her gaze away. “It’s just…”
“Tell me.”
“Professor Thaddeus Carter, he…”
Every muscle in my body goes taut, and my eyes narrow dangerously.
“What about Carter?” I hiss, a low growl rumbling in my throat.
“Not me,” she murmurs, her voice barely a breath, shoulders slumping.
“Please tell me,
Princess Liora.’

And she does. She shares the horrifying truth about Ava Sinclair, detailing the vile act of the human trash that is Carter. Each word feels like a dagger to my heart, and by the end, fury surges through my veins, my body clenched with the urge to strike.
“I’m going to bury him,” I say, my tone dangerously calm; Storm’s eyes dart to mine, wide with panic.
“No, Cameron, please.”
“Give me one good reason why not,” I growl, my patience running thin.
“Because if you went to jail for murder, I’d be lost without you.”
The red mist of rage recedes, replaced by the sincere plea in her
eyes.
“For me, please. I just want to finish his s**id class so I can go to college and escape this godforsaken town-‘

The unspoken implications hit us simultaneously, and she stumbles over her words.
“I didn’t mean-
“I know, angel,” I reassure her softly, feeling a flicker of camaraderie in our shared dream.
“Come with me,” she breathes, hope lighting up her eyes. “To Cambridge, when I go to school.”
I laugh softly, shaking my head, as if the thought were absurd.
“I just took this job.”
“C’mon, you hate this town just as much as I do.”
Hér gaze locks with mine, and suddenly, it clicks into place. It’s not just the dissatisfaction with this town or the job I hold, but it’s her the undeniable draw, the instinct to follow her anywhere, no matter the cost.

When Storm Montgomery heads off to school, there’s nothing in this world that can

keep me from her side.
After all, she’s mine. Mine to cherish, to safeguard, to love.
Forever.
Before I even realize what’s happening, I’m kissing her again, pouring every emotion into that heated embrace, holding her against me like she’s the only thing that matters. She sighs softly, a sound that ignites everything inside me, sending desire pouring over me like a tidal wave.
It consumes me, wrapping me in its fervor until I’m pushing her back, growling as I pin her against my desk. Heat floods my body, pooling low in my gut while my c***k drives hard against her thigh. I know she feels it, her kisses suddenly igniting with urgency, her small hands gripping me tightly as her breath stutters.
