Love Story9–Chapter 1
“Chloe, Ms. Randon has made your favorite corn and rib soup. The corn and ribs are from the garden she picked in the countryside. It’s so fresh!”
Trick Randon, as always, eagerly served me my meal.
Ever since I could remember, Ms. Randon had been by my side, taking care of me.
Slie prepared my meals according to a strict nutritionist’s plan.
II tripped and fell, she’d rush me to get a full check–up.
She even lived with us year–round to take care of me, always ready to respond to any of my needs.
My parents often said that Ms. Randon took better care of me than they did their own precious daughter.
Of course, because I was her biological daughter, she would be so attentive.
I sat down to eat, ignoring the hopeful look on her face, and nodded indifferently, “It’s alright.”
A flash of disappointment crossed Trick’s face, but she quickly pushed a plate of fried chicken
toward me. “Chloe’s favorite. Eat more.”
Standing in the kitchen doorway was a girl, her eyes filled with longing as she gazed at the food on
the table.
Her face was gaunt and pale, her clothes ragged, and she stood there drooling, starving.
That was my mother’s biological daughter.
Trick named her Sonborn Randon.
Noticing my gaze, Trick softly said, “Did I scare you, Chloe? Don’t worry, Auntie will send her away.”
I looked up with a sweet smile, “Aunt, let’s invite my sister to eat with us.”
Trick patted my head with affection, her love for me overflowing, “Chloe is so kind.”
Then, she stormed toward Sonborn, grabbed her by the ear, and dragged her back.

You’re getting too hold! How dare you come out of the kitchen?”
Did you scare my Chloe? Can you afford to pay for her fright?”
Sonborn was dragged back to the kitchen, her screams echoing in the air as I quietly enjoyed my
lunch.
Her cries soon ceased because my parents arrived, and Trick hurried to greet them.
My mother, Moon Lunar, asked me to change into the new dress she had bought for me.
She scrutinized me up and down, as if appraising merchandise, nodding in satisfaction before smiling. “You truly are a product of my careful upbringing.”
“Have you had your plano lesson?”
I lowered my head slightly and obediently replied, “My lesson is in the afternoon. The teacher will
be here soon.”
Moon Lunar took the tea Trick handed her, her eyes glancing over at Sonborn, who was lying in the corner, and frowned.
“Trick, I agreed to let you bring your daughter here because I felt sorry for you both.”

“Look at her. She’s filthy. What if she spreads germs to my Chloe?”
Trick smiled uneasily, dragging Sonborn into the living room while muttering, “Doesn’t she know
how to wash her face?”
“Disgusting! Look at how beautiful Chloe is!”
Moon Lunar sat me down and softly said, “See, being a daughter of the Lunar family is such a
blessing.”
I nodded in agreement, “Being my mother’s daughter is a blessing I must have earned in a previous
life.”
Our family of three sat on the sofa, harmonious to the extreme.
Sonborn, in pain, begged for mercy, “Mom, I’m sorry. I know I was wrong.”
She wiped the blood from her forehead and bowed to Trick, apologizing meekly.
Trick kicked her hard in the knee, and with a thud, Sonborn fell to her knees. “What’s the use of

Sonborn crawled on her knees to my feet, timidly saying. “Mr. and Mrs. Lunar, Miss Chloe, I’m sorry.
My father, Spencer Led, was in a pante. He hurriedly helped her up. “Trick, how can you treat a child Hike that? Hurry, let’s take her to apply some medicine.”
Trick snorted, “This girl is nothing but trouble. She won’t learn unless she’s beaten. Unlike Chloe, who’s born with a princess’s destiny.”
My mother wasn’t pleased with my father’s concern for Sonborn. She cleared her throat, “Darling, why are you fussing over a maid’s child?”
“Well… Souborn and Chloe are the same age. I just think she’s pitiful,” Spencer Led explained, though his words betrayed his discomfort. He instinctively let go of Sonborn.
Moon Lunar adjusted her newly done nalls, and after a long pause, she said, “Forget it.”
She then stepped onto Sonborn’s pain with her sharp high heels.
