Chapter 2
I stood up, shielding Lexi behind me, and glared at them with fury.
“This is the top–tier suite of a luxury hotel. Do you think security here is a joke?”
“Touch her, and it’s a crime! This is your wedding day–don’t ruin it!”
“I’ve said it before: I’m not here to marry you. Your groomsmen have no right to harass Lexi. Get out of here, now!”
But Gavin showed no intention of listening. His face twisted with a sinister grin.
“You’re not here to marry me? Then what are you dressed like this for, Lily? Still playing hard to
get?”
“Crime? Do you think I’m scared? With my status as a Duke, harassing a bridesmaid is just a wedding tradition. Who’s going to arrest me?”
“And as for security, don’t worry. Today is my wedding day–I do what I want. Do you see anyone here who would dare call security for you?”
Before I could respond, Gavin’s groomsmen began pulling at Lexi.
I fought desperately to push them away, doing everything I could to stop them from getting close to
her.
“Get out of here! Don’t touch her! Don’t touch her!”
“Gavin Duke, if you don’t stop them, I swear I’ll never let you go! I swear I’ll make you pay!”
“Leave! Leave now!”
At that moment, Gavin slapped me hard across the face.
I
“Shut up, you bitch! I’ll do whatever I want to her, and I want you to watch. Let’s see if I dare or not
“What do you think you are, yelling at me like that?”
He turned to the bridesmaids standing nearby.
“Pull her away! Don’t let her ruin my brothers‘ fun with this bridesmaid.”

an instant, countless hands reached out toward me. I struggled as hard as I could, but I was pinned to the ground, unable to move.
I could only watch as the groomsmen pinned Lexi to the sofa, their hands roaming freely over her while throwing out lewd comments.
“Wow, this one’s feisty!”
“She’s a real gem–we scored big time with this one.”
“Come on, tear it off. That dress is in the way.”
Lexi clung desperately to her dress, her face streaked with tears, trying to avoid their touch but finding nowhere to escape.
Today was supposed to be my wedding day. Lexi was my bridesmaid.
After being betrayed by my loved ones and cutting ties with my family, it was Lexi who took me in, stood by my side, and helped me through my darkest days.
I couldn’t let her suffer because of me.
I turned to Gavin, pleading desperately with tears streaming down my face.
“I was wrong. I was wrong. I was wrong, Gavin.”
“Let her go. Don’t touch her. I’m begging you, don’t hurt her!”
“I’ll do anything you want. Just don’t touch her, I beg you. Please!”
Gavin raised a hand, signaling the groomsmen to stop.

Lexi scrambled off the sofa, barely able to fix her disheveled dress, and crawled over to me. Her
trembling hands gently touched the side of my face where I’d been slapped, her eyes filled with pain.
Tears welled up in my eyes, spilling uncontrollably down my cheeks.
Gavin smirked with disdain and crouched down in front of me.
“Now, that’s more like it, Lily. No more lies, huh? Not claiming you’re marrying Evan Daxton
anymore?”
“Lily, I must admit, I do like your face. It’s hard for me to let you go.”

low about this? Since you like me so much, why don’t you stay with me? I’ll treat you well.”
Looked up at him in disbelief.
“What do you mean? Are you saying I should be your mistress?”
“Is that what you think of me?”
“Gav
“Gavin Duke! We were together for three years. How could you treat me like this?”
Though I no longer had any feelings for Gavin since our breakup, his words just now stabbed deeply into my heart.
Gavin, how could you humiliate me like this?
Gavin, however, showed no reaction to my questions. He stood up and looked around at everyone
present.
“Do you all know why I broke off my engagement with Lily Gilbert and decided to marry her sister, Rose?”
“Because Lily, just two months ago, was violated in the mountains. And not just violated–she was gang–violated.”
“For an entire week. Five men. Hahaha, maybe even more than five. Tell me, how could a woman like that marry into the Duke family?”
His words caused an uproar among the crowd.
