In the hospital room
After recounting my dramatic actions with a half–joking tone to the elderly men and women, I received their unanimous praise. They joined me in condemning that despicable couple.
“Alright, alright, we get it, you’re amazing. Now, come and eat something.”
At mealtime, Ethan always arrived with his lunchbox, bringing food to me.
“Lia, in the future, you should look for a man
like Dr. Blair–reliable! Hahaha.”
Everyone cheered, making Ethan blush deeply.

Ryan, rendered speechless by my rebuke, pursed his lips and left in disgrace.
