The trip to Divale was quickly arranged for Friday evening, with their flight scheduled for 7:30 pm.
Lisette finished work at 4:30 pm, and Gary was already waiting for her outside the company.
He had also sent her to work in the morning and had promised to return in the afternoon, which he did.
“You came all the way to pick me up. Did you get everything sorted out?” Lisette teased.
Even though Gary was busy, he had made an effort to spend time with her. She was concerned about holding him up.
“Of course. For something this important, I need to be thoroughly prepared,” he said. There was no room for errors.
Lisette smiled. “I packed my luggage this morning, so I just need to freshen up at home.”
“Alright, we have time,” he replied.
As they chatted, the car pulled up outside Lisette’s apartment. They got out and headed inside.
“I’ll get you some water. You sit down and relax while I shower,” Lisette offered.
Gary stopped her. “No need, I’ll handle it. You go get ready.”
“Okay, I’ll freshen up. Feel free to help yourself, Lisette said, handing him the heading to the bedroom.

Gary watched her slender figure with a smile, feeling at ease in how he treated his space.
After Lisette finished her shower, changed clothes, and applied some light makeup, she emerged.
Gary turned to look at her. She was wearing a beige collared dress that accentuated her delicate, fair skin and slim waist.
“You’re looking too thin. You should eat more,” Gary said, concerned she might be easily blown away by a breeze.
“I’m at a healthy weight. Let’s go; I’m ready.”
“And the luggage?” Gary asked,
Lisette nointed to her haus “It’s right there”

“Okay.”
“Got it,” Gary said, picking them up as they left.
Rhonda had already returned two days earlier.
She went back to the Reeve residence to make some arrangements.
After all, it was Gary’s marriage.
By the time their plane landed in Divale, it was just before 9:00 pm.

Rhonda was waiting at the airport. As soon as Lisette and Gary arrived, she hurried over.
She grabbed Lisette’s hand and said with concern, “Are you tired? You can rest in the car. I’ll wake you up when we get home.”
Lisette smiled gently. “I’m fine.”
She felt it was fine as the flight was short for less than two hours.
Gary was reassured by Rhonda’s warm demeanor.
Gary was reassured by Rhonda’s kind approach. Knowing her preferences for a daughter–in-( law, he felt confident about her relationship with Lisette.
They drove for half an hour before arriving at the Reeve residence, a retro courtyard.
Rhonda led Lisette inside, calling out, “Rose, they’re back!”
The Reeves, with their scholarly background, adhered to many traditional customs.
A voice answered from inside, “Yes, ma’am.”
Rhonda took Lisette upstairs and explained, “Since you and Gary are getting married soon, L didn’t set up a separate guest room. I’ve made some adjustments to Gary’s room. hope that’s alright with you.”
Lisette shook her head. “I don’t mind at all.”
They were about to get married soon, so a few days wasn’t a big deal.
Rhonda smiled, clearly pleased.
Last time, Gary had been evasive about his intimacy with Lisette. Rhonda suspected he just didn’t want to reveal too much.
She showed Lisette to Gary’s bedroom. “Go ahead and shower. I’ve laid out your clothes.

“I won’t disturb you then. Go freshen up. I’ll check on the food downstairs,” Rhonda said.
“Okay, thanks for all your help.”
“It’s no trouble at all. I’ll be downstairs, so call me if you need anything.”
“Okay.”
Rhonda left, leaving Lisette alone in the bedroom, taking in the new surroundings.
Although Rhonda had mentioned that the room was redecorated, Lisette could still sense its masculine influence.
The bedside table held a violin model, a square LED lamp with a stylish design, and neatly arranged Flaesauian books on the corner. It was clear that Gary liked them.
Two gray fabric sofas in
table that held a crystal e corner were simple yet elegant, paired with a small triangular
table that held a crystal vase with seasonal flowers, adding a splash of color to the room.
Although it was a temporary setup, it was done with good taste.
Tonight, she’d be staying here with Gary.
“Should we consider redecorating the guest room?”
Gary returned upstairs after preparing a couple of cold dishes in the kitchen. On his way up, he encountered Rhonda, who informed him that Lisette was in his bedroom and they would be spending the night together.
He immediately objected.
He wouldn’t touch Lisette before marriage and could wait.
However, Rhonda didn’t seem to care and left him feeling powerless. He was puzzled by his mother’s impatience.
Hearing the voice, Lisette turned around to see Gary standing there, looking at her gently.
“It’s fine.”
They would be together eventually, so one night didn’t matter much.
Gary’s eyes were filled with intense, suppressed emotions that had been held back for five
years.
