In the private room, Rhonda was on the phone. “Yes, Ernest, don’t worry. I’ll take a good look at her.
“I’m sure that with Gary’s good judgment, she won’t be inferior!
“We’ve talked it over. After meeting today, we’ll take her to Divale this Saturday to meet everyone, and then we can finalize the wedding.”
Hearing footsteps outside, Rhonda glanced toward the door and quickly said, “They’re here. Let’s talk later.”
After speaking, she ended the call.
Just as she set down the phone, the crystal curtain parted, and the waiter led Gary and Lisette into the room.
Rhonda immediately looked over and hurried over, “Oh, you two are finally here!”
Lisette saw Rhonda and immediately felt she was a warm and outgoing person.
Rhonda took her hand enthusiastically, guided her to a seat, and gave her a thorough look.
The more she observed Lisette, the more pleased she became.
Lisette’s long black hair, falling naturally behind her, seemed naturally curly, and her features were delicate.
Her bright, clear eyes and serene demeanor matched Mabel’s description perfectly.
Feeling a bit uncomfortable under Rhonda’s intense gaze, Lisette lowered her head.
Gary sighed helplessly. “Mom, you’re going to scare Lisette away with that stare.”
Rhonda quickly said, “Sorry, I was too excited. I hope you don’t mind.”
Lisette smiled warmly, meeting Rhonda’s gaze. “It’s fine.”
Her voice was soft and kind.
Rhonda was thrilled. Lisette fit her idea of a perfect daughter–in–law!
“As long as you don’t mind my straightforwardness. I always say what I think.”
Rhonda was preparing for what she was about to say later.

Being direct was always better than being vague.
“Hehe, it looks like we’re meant to get along!”
Rhonda then asked about Lisette–her name, age, family background, and occupation.
She asked many detailed questions, giving Gary a bit of a headache.
His mother’s excitement was overwhelming.

He couldn’t interrupt Rhonda during the interrogation. He could only watch Lisette, hoping she wouldn’t be scared off.
Fortunately, she remained composed and answered all of Rhonda’s questions sincerely.
Gary’s worries eased. Lisette really seemed committed to marrying him.
The three of them chatted in the private room until almost 9:00 pm. If Gary hadn’t mentioned it was getting late and that he needed to take Lisette home, Rhonda would have kept talking.
“Oh my, it’s so late! Let’s continue next time!”
Rhonda held Lisette’s hand as if she didn’t want to let go.
Gary couldn’t endure anymore and took Rhonda’s hand away. “Mom, you should also head home and get some rest.”
Reluctantly, Rhonda rubbed her hands and said, “Alright, I’m heading home now. You two can enjoy a night out and look at the stars. I won’t bother you anymore!”
She gave Gary a knowing wink and drove off.
He knew what his mother was hinting at–she wanted him to seize the opportunity to have children sooner.
Gary felt helpless.
He thought he was in a rush, but Rhonda was even more impatient.
As Lisette watched the car disappear, her smile slowly faded.
