Iris looked up, and her eyes met Stanley’s furious gaze He was staring at her like a predator staring at a prey, ready to pounce at any moment.
Iris looked behind him and spotted Henry there too.
Were they here for dinner?
It wasn’t unusual to see the three of them together, so Iris wasn’t surprised.
Lester stole a peek at Stanley.
Stanley’s face was tense, clearly on the verge of exploding!
Iris withdrew her gaze from them. She remained calm and composed, as if she didn’t notice anything
With a smile at Lester and Henry, she said, “I have to go. Bye.”
No one replied.
Henry and Lester could both feel the chill emanating from Stanley.
After a moment, Henry finally said, “Okay, see you around.”
Jason moved a little closer to Iris, his sharp eyes casually glancing past Stanley. This provoked Stanley; his hands clenched into fists, veins standing out on the back of his hands.
“Um, did you drive here?” Lester asked Iris, attempting to ease the tension.
“Yes,” Iris replied.
“Then… drive safe,” he said.
She thanked him and walked past them toward the exit.
Stanley couldn’t hold back any more; he wanted to chase after her, but Lester grabbed his arm, quietly reminding him, “You’re divorced. She has the right to be with other men. You yourself are announcing Fiora as your girlfriend today, remember?”
If Stanley could have a new partner, so could Iris.
As Stanley’s friend, Lester felt he had a duty to remind Stanley of the reality.
He’s not happy seeing Iris with another man? Well, too bad. He had no right to interfere.
Henry was afraid of Stanley doing something rash. He advised, “Stanley, you’re still injured. Don’t be reckless.”
Stanley understood the situation, but he couldn’t help feeling angry and frustrated. Fury burned in his chest.
He couldn’t help but feel that Iris was still his. Even if they’re divorced, she was still his. He could leave her, but no one else could touch her.

“Mr. Just,” Stanley bit out, “Are there no other women in the world? Why do you have to pick up someone else’s leftovers? Not very picky, are you?”
Lester stared at Stanley in shock; even as an outsider, those words felt excessive. He could only imagine how Iris felt hearing that.
Henry shrugged. He decided to stop caring. If that’s what Stanley wanted, so be it.
Iris‘ steps halted, her body trembling in anger.
Her heart ached, as if it had been stabbed by a sharp knife. It wasn’t Stanley’s words that stung her – it was the realization of how blind she had been, falling for such a scumbag and loving him wholeheartedly for seven years.
She felt like the dumbest person in the world!
Jason noticed her trembling. He was equally surprised by Stanley’s rudeness.
He turned back, his sharp eyes exuding a hint of disdain.
His chilling aura shocked Lester.
Although Jason seemed drunk, he emanated an undeniable pressure.
Lester’s grip on Stanley’s arm tightened. He had a feeling Jason was not to be messed with.
Iris tried her best to maintain her composure. Her hand that was holding Jason’s waist gripped his shirt tightly as she said, “Let’s go, Mr. Just.”
Jason lowered his eyes, the coldness in them disappearing instantly, replaced by a pang of heartache. At the car, she opened the door, helped him inside and leaned in to fasten his seatbelt.
She was so close that Jason could clearly smell her breath and hear her heartbeat.
When she was about to pull back, Jason reached out to hold the back of her head and kissed her on the lips!
