Chapter 151
Iris nodded in agreement.
Jason led the way, and she followed. She walked awkwardly and slowly. Noticing her pace, Jason deliberately slowed down to match her.
Iris said, embarrassed, “Mr. Just, um, why don’t you go ahead?”
Jason glanced around. There were no shuttle vehicles like golf carts that they could ride; the equestrian center was huge, and it would take some time to reach the exit.
“Sorry, I should have been more mindful. It’s your first time riding, so of course there are many things you’re not used to.” He pursed his lips and said, “I can carry you on my back if you want.”
Feeling embarrassed, Iris quickly waved her hands in refusal. “No, it’s okay. I can walk.”
She coughed lightly, adding, “It’s actually not that bad. I have no problem walking.”
Jason lowered his gaze, briefly assessing her legs. “Are you sure?”
Iris nodded repeatedly. “I’m sure.”
She would rather endure a bit of discomfort than let Jason carry her.
It felt too intimate, an action usually reserved for those who were very close.
Jason was her superior; she wouldn’t dare to let him carry her.
Although she knew Jason had no interest in her, she had to avoid interactions that were too intimate.
Unpleasant rumors were already circulating within the law firm.
For the sake of Jason’s reputation and for the sake of her career at the law firm, she had to keep a proper distance from Jason.
“Alright,” Jason conceded.
“Do you come here often, Mr. Just?” Iris asked as they walked. She had seen him expertly handling the Ferghana horse earlier, which made her curious about his experience.
“Occasionally,” Jason replied.

This surprised Iris. “Only occasionally, but you ride so well?”
He must be a genius.
Jason smiled.
The rare smile softened his usually stoic demeanor, making him look more charming and approachable. It enhanced his already handsome features.
Iris quickly averted her gaze.
Time flew as they chatted, and before they knew it, they had returned to the stables. Iris went to change out of her riding attire while Jason spoke with the manager outside.
Iris emerged holding her riding outfit. She would bring it back to wash it. She could wear it again for future rides. It seemed wasteful not to reuse it.
“If you want to ride again, come here and look for him,” Jason said, pointing at the
manager.
The manager approached Iris respectfully, handing her a business card. “Miss Glover, anytime you want to come for a ride, just give me a call, and I’ll make all the arrangements for you.”
Iris was surprised by the manager’s extremely respectful attitude. She accepted the card with both hands. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome; it’s my pleasure,” the manager replied humbly.
As they got into the car, Iris remarked, “I guess you must be a VIP member here.” Jason started the car and glanced at her. “What makes you think that?”
“Well, if you hadn’t spent a lot of money, why would the manager treat you like royalty? No, wait…” She suddenly recalled that Jason’s horse was worth over four million dollars. He was royalty.
She knew that lawyers at the Big Eight law firms earned well, especially those handling high–profile cases.
Previously, when Stanley handled a divorce case for a wealthy client, he earned over $700,000 in commission. Given that the disputed properties were valued at over $ 300 million, $700,000 in legal fees seemed reasonable. Jason must be making even

more than that.
Thoughts of earning money ignited her determination. She would work hard to become a great lawyer and earn lots of money so that she could provide her parents with a carefree life.
Jason said half–jokingly, “What if I told you the equestrian center is mine? Would you believe me?“”
Iris was momentarily stunned. She then replied with a chuckle, “I believe you.”
After all, Jason could definitely afford to own an equestrian center. Besides, an equestrian center could be profitable.
No wonder the manager was so respectful.
