Chapter 117
Fiora guiltily avoided eye contact. “No, not yet. It’s still in the early phase of pregnancy, so…‘
“Then let’s wait until it’s confirmed first.” Stanley pulled away from her and quickly walked off.
“Stanley, wait for me…” Fiora called, hurrying to catch up.
Suddenly, Stanley stopped. Fiora couldn’t stop in time and ran into him.
“S–Stanley…” she stammered as she looked at him anxiously.
“Aren’t you pregnant? Should you really be running?” His voice was devoid of emotion, even sounding a bit cold.
Fiora’s guilt intensified, her heart racing. She bit her lip in frustration. “It’s all because you ran off like that. I had to run to chase after you…” She emphasized the words “chase after you” and even rubbed her belly.
Stanley glanced at her abdomen but remained silent.
He had indeed slept with her, regardless of whether he was thinking straight at the time. It was something that he could not deny.
“Alright, let’s go,” he said, his tone softening slightly.
Fiora reached for his hand, but Stanley avoided it.
He didn’t seem angry anymore, but he walked very fast; he did not seem to care if Fiora could keep up with his brisk pace. Fiora had to jog to keep up with him.
“Stanley, where are we going?”
“Home,” he replied tersely. With his face like this, he could not participate in any events. Instead of staying to watch Iris and Ted display their affection, he would rather leave this unhappy place as soon as possible.
“But I just got here…” Fiora protested, but she suddenly realized that if they left, Stanley would not be able to see Iris anymore, and that made her happy. “Actually, yeah, let’s leave. We can go somewhere fun…”
Stanley’s annoyance grew at her incessant chatter. “Can you stop talking, please?”
Fiora bit her lip, feeling wronged.
Meanwhile, Iris and Ted arrived at a quiet bamboo forest. Realizing she was still holding Ted’s hand, Iris quickly let go. “Sorry, I…”
“No need to explain. I understand.” Ted knew she didn’t do it because she liked him.

Iris lowered her gaze, regretting her impulsiveness. She shouldn’t have held Ted’s hand out of spite when she saw that Stanley had a new woman.
It was very disrespectful to Ted, and very irresponsible to herself. She should not have used someone to vent her anger.
“I’m sorry, I…”
“You can use me anytime you want,” Ted said, looking deeply into her eyes.
Iris looked away, her voice heavy with emotion. “Stop doing so much for me. I’m not worth it…
“I want to. Like I said, you can reject me, but I’m not gonna give up.” He took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders. “You’re dressed too lightly.”
Iris wanted to refuse his coat, but Ted cut her short. “Let’s go. Yvonne is waiting for us.” The reason he was at Iris‘ room earlier was to call her down for a meal.
Iris looked down and said, “Okay.” She relented and accepted his coat.
They went to the restaurant, but Yvonne was nowhere to be seen.
Ted didn’t lie to Iris; when he went to fetch Iris, Yvonne was indeed waiting’in the restaurant.
He immediately gave Yvonne a call.
Henry had managed to convince Yvonne to go to a hot spring with him.
Iris was aware of Henry’s past. Being Yvonne’s best friend, Iris would definitely tell Yvonne and stop her from spending time with him.
