Chapter 110
He spoke in anger without thinking.
Yvonne seethed at his words. “Go to hell, you scumbag.”
Iris cast him a cold look before climbing out of the hot spring and walking away barefoot.
Yvonne turned to Ted. “If you beat him up, I’ll help you pursue Iris!”
Ted’s morale instantly soared.
Stanley was stunned, realizing he had crossed a line. Taking advantage of that, Ted punched him in the face.
Stanley was not about to back down; he instantly retaliated. The two fought, and water splashed everywhere, as if there were two large fish thrashing in the pool.

The commotion attracted the resort manager’s attention, who rushed over to break scuffle. However, this fight was different from the last time the two men fought. Both men had bloodshot eyes, unwilling to yield. Ultimately, the manager had to call the police, and the cops came to arrest them.
The fight was deemed a mutual combat. Both men were injured. The police contacted their families.
Renee was the first to arrive. She found Stanley sitting in the police station in a sorry state. His hair was wet and messy. There were two scratches on his face and a large bruise on his mouth. He wore a coat over his damp clothing.
“What happened to you?” she asked
Stanley looked up and glared at Ted, his eyes burning with anger.
Ted met his gaze without fear. “What, do you want to fight again?”
Renee was shocked. “I thought you two were friends? Why did you fight?”
An officer interjected, “They seemed to have fought over a woman.”
Renee’s eyes widened. “A woman? Who?”
Silence hung in the air as neither Stanley nor Ted answered.
Knowing that she would get no answer from her son, Renee turned to Ted. “Ted, tell me— which woman did you two fight over? What kind of woman is worth turning a friend into an enemy?”
Her mind raced; could the Zeller family want to be in–laws with the Just family too?
That won’t do! Fiora could only marry his son!

She warned Ted, “Let it go, Ted. It’s impossible between you and Fiora. She already slept with Stanley. I’m already arranging their engagement.”
Before she could finish, Ted burst into laughter.
Renee was puzzled. Why was he laughing?
Ted shot Stanley a disdainful gaze. “You slept with her too? You really aren’t picky, are you? You’re willing to sleep with anyone who’s a woman. First Wendy, now Fiora–who’s next? When Iris finds out, she’ll surely think you’re disgusting…”
“Fuck you!” Stanley yelled, grabbing a cup from the table and hurling it at Ted.
Ted dodged just in time, the cup shattering on the floor.
The officer pinned Stanley down, warning, “How dare you fight in the police station? Do you want me to handcuff you?”
Renee seemed to have connected the dots. “You guys fought over Iris?”
Ted and Stanley both fell silent, confirming her suspicion.
Renee slapped Stanley’s back in frustration. “Are you a fool? She’s just a woman you dumped; why are you so attached to her? You already fucked her for four years–aren’t you tired of her yet?”
At that moment, Iris and Yvonne arrived to pick up Ted. They overheard Renee’s harsh words.
Yvonne cursed, “Damn, so Stanley’s vile nature comes from his mother. The rotten apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.‘
Iris had had to endure Renee’s wretched attitude for years and was not surprised to hear her derogatory remark. But to think she had called this person her mother–in–law for four years made her feel sick.
Stanley looked up at the sound of Yvonne’s voice his chest tightening as if the air had been sucked from his lungs. His eyes reddened, shimmering with unshed tears, and he stammered, “I–Iris…”
