Chapter 96
Adrian’s POV.
“Is there really no way to break their bond? This is the third time in a row that she put her life in danger for him, and she is still underage.” Nevil asked me in a worried tone.
I didn’t answer him as my eyes were still glued to the people sleeping peacefully on the beds in front of me. My mind was a mess. Everything that happened in the last twenty-four hours were enough to make me feel both guilty and useless.
Once again, I failed to protect my son, and Aurora. Once again Aurora put her life in danger in order to pull him out of the misery of his first shift.
Once again everything went out of my control when it was supposed to be me to put my life in danger instead of them.
“Adrian.” I flinched lightly when suddenly Nevil yelled aloud. “They are sleeping, Nevil. What are you doing?” I scolded him in a hushed tone when I saw Aurora knitting her brows in her sleep.
“I called you twice but you were lost in your thoughts.” He complained in hushed tone this time. “Let…. Let’s go out of the room.” I instructed him in the same hushed tone, and walked out of the room.
“You didn’t answer me.” He asked again after closing the door behind us, and I sighed. “Do you think there is?” I questioned him back while glancing at him. He sighed, looking troubled while walking beside me.
“They are bound to each other for their whole life, Nevil. This is what the goddess has decided for them. Even if we want to separate them to keep them safe for the rest of life, there is nothing that we can do in this matter. Thi… this is their fate……. her fate.” I replied to him with resignation this time.
He didn’t utter a single word, and I welcomed this silence between us. I was not in a right state of mind to answer anymore questions related to Noah and Aurora.
“How is Hunter and Evan?” I asked him after a short pause to distract both of us while going towards the other side of the corridor. It seemed that this corridor had become our next home as we were here countless times in less than two months.
“They were lucky that we already have developed an antidote which is a mix of Aurora and Hunter’s blood serum. But due to presence of wolfsbane in their system, they will take time to recover.” He answered me in a serious tone.
“And Morgan?” I asked him while looking at him this time. I leaned on the wall, resting my back on it, and lifted my foot a little hire on the wall.
He took a deep breath and exhaled aloud. “This girl…. I tell you…. She should learn to put herself first in some situations.” He replied to me, and I just stared at him blankly while tilting my head.
“L… I still am processing that she forced Morgan to drink her blood when she was about to collapse. It saved him, but once again she paid heavily for saving all of them.” He continued in a pi**ed tone this time.
I just kept on staring at him blankly. “Are you going to hand over the pack to Noah now?” Suddenly he asked me in a curious tone. I blinked but didn’t answer him.
“If you are planning to do this as he will be 18 tomorrow, I suggest you not to do this for now. He is still not ready for this responsibility, and he has to undergo a thorough training now when we all know that he is the legendary silver wolf.” He continued and this time, I took a deep breath and slowly exhaled out.
“At first, we need to find who is behind all this, Nevil. They didn’t target Noah only. What I observed today was that they target all of them. Their primary target was Noah, but they didn’t go for him directly.” I replied to him in a serious tone.
He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair while looking towards the other side of the corridor where their rooms were. The whole corridor was heavily guarded, but both Nevil and I were not at ease about leaving them on guards.

“I am not handing the pack over to him for the time being. He needs to find his fated mate first.” I told him in a serious toe while looking at the closed door of his room. For certain reasons, we kept both Noah and Aurora in the same room. Martha wanted to stay here with them, but I sent her home to rest.
“This is a wise decision. You need to ensure his safety and also that he is strong enough to protect not only himself, but the pack too when the time comes. He…. He can’t depend on Aurora for his safety all the time, right?” Nevil replied to him in a
serious tone.
“You don’t worry…. He will take over when he will feel that he is ready for this.” I assured him and took a deep breath while closing my eyes.
“What about Hunter?” I asked him without opening my eyes after some time. My mind was still a mess, but I needed to stay calm for the next few hours. In the next three hours, it will be Noah’s birthday, and I didn’t want to take any risk this time.
“What about him?” Nevil asked me in a confused tone. “When will he take over?” I asked him in straight words this time.
I heard him sigh, making me open my eyes slowly. I looked at him slowly when I saw him looking towards Hunter’s room with a complicated gaze. “What is it?” I asked him while raising my brows.

“He He didn’t want to find his mate. He… he want to take Aurora as his chosen mate after her birthday.” He told me with some hesitation, and I immediately straightened my body in shock.
“What did you say?” I asked him while yelling in shock. “You heard me, Adrian….. he … he knows that Aurora will never have a fated mate because of her special condition. So, he …. He wants to take her as his chosen,mate. I… I don’t think that he will agree to leave her here to take over the pack.” He replied to me in a frustrated tone this time.
Ljust blinked while processing what he said. He once again ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. The silence between us was so tense that it could be cut by a knife. “Yo… you know Noah wishes for the same too?” I asked him in a very low voice, and he snapped his head towards me, widening his eyes in shock.
“No way.” He exclaimed and I just blinked harder, not knowing what to do with this situation. Both Noah and Hunter were young alphas, and we didn’t want any dispute between them because of Aurora, but it seemed that the situation wasn’t in our favour.
“Hey you two…. What are you two doing here?” I sighed and leaned on the wall once again but didn’t answer Troy..
“Why are you here?” I heard Nevil questioning Troy in a confused tone. “This is the time of their medication. Didn’t you see the time?” Troy asked him in a confused tone while replying to Nevil. “O yeah.” I replied when I remembered about that.
I opened my eyes and straightened myself once again. “You need to observe Noah throughout the night as it will be his birthday soon. Although he has finished his first shift, but I am still hoping for a residual effect.” I instructed Troy this time in a serious tone while walking towards the room.
