Aurora’s P.O.V. (Continued)
“He is not responding to the mind-link. I guess he has slept.” Hank told us in a worried tone. “I am ringing him.” Hunter spoke immediately. “If this is…. This is true th… that the death of his mother along with Aurora’s mother’s death in front of his eyes triggered something into him at that time, escalating the half shift at the tender age of nine, I guess the situation with Aurora led this….. this time.” Alpha Nevil speculated.
I trembled hard, but soon, I was engulfed in a tight embrace from behind. I stiffened while holding Noah tightly but relaxed immediately. “You have us now, Aurora. You are not alone and you will never be alone in the future.” Hunter whispered in my ear while holding me tightly.
I soft whimper escaped my lips. Both Noah and Hunter tightened their grip on me, giving me the comfort that I needed right now. I witnessed Luna Helena’s death, and Noah witnessed my parents’ death. It seemed that both my mother and Luna Helena died at the same time.
So we both were in the same pain at the same time. “It… it means th… that all of them can have the same situation before their birthday?” Alpha Nevil suddenly asked in a worried tone, and I trembled hard in fear.
I looked at Noah who was now breathing heavily. He was trying hard to conceal his pain only to give me some comfort, but it had made his pain worsen. “Don’t hold yourself back, Noah…. It will increase the pain. Focus on the wolf form. Think about how will you look after shifting.” I encouraged Noah in a choked tone.
Hunter was still holding me from behind. “She is right, Noah. You are almost half-shift. A little more effort, and you will be fine.” Hunter also encouraged him in a soft tone. “You need to leave him now, Aurora. His bones will hurt you more than they are already hurting you.” Nevil asked me in a worried tone.
“B… but I can’t take his pain without any physical touch.” I answered him in a worried tone. “Holding hands will do?” he asked me and I nodded in response. Hunter kissed the top of my head before releasing me from his grip.
Noah also tried to sit up after removing his hands from my waist. His hand was now transformed into a half claw. Hunter and Frank immediately came forward and help him get steady on his fours while holding him from his shoulders.
“We can escalate this process, but this will endanger our life.” Selene told me in a low tone. “Don’t you dare to think doing that, Aurora.” I raised my brows in surprise when Noah yelled at me in a hoarse voice.
“What happened? What is she planning to do?” Frank asked him immediately in an anxious voice. “She wants to use her powers to escalate this process, but it will endanger her life once again as she is still too weak to even stand on her feet on her own.” Noah informed them in a bitter tone while glaring at me.
I huffed while glaring at him this time. He exaggerated my condition a bit, but how did he know what Selene told me? Could he hear Selene now?
I was still sitting on the ground. He was right. I still didn’t have much strength in my body to stand up on my own. “But you need something to do to escalate your shift, Noah. You still have more than 12 before the midnight.” I said to him in a worried tone.
The darkness of the night had already started fading away. Soon the sun would rise. The place where we were was in the middle of a circle of trees, but staying here during the day time wasn’t a good decision.
The elders of the pack had asked to keep the upper side clear so that the shifting wolf can have the moon light straight over his or her head..
“J… I will be okay” Noah replied to me while panting heavily. He hung his head low once again. “We need to check the perimeters once again.” Hank muttered, and I looked at him with concern.
“You don’t worry, pup…. it’s just a routine inspection that we have decided to do in this area from time to time. We still don’t know who the traitor among us is.” Hank said to me with a faint smile on his lips.

I nodded in response and suddenly yawned aloud. “Let’s do something to cover this area for the day. Both Aurora and Noah need to rest for a while.” Alpha Adrian said to Alpha Nevil and I slowly rubbed my eyes.
I was sleeping when I got the mind-link from Hunter. The way he described Noah’s current situation, I was scared to death. I wasn’t able to get up and run to find Alpha Nevil and Olivia. So, I called a nurse and asked her to help me find Alpha Nevil and Luna Olivia.
“He….lp her.” I heard Noah whispering in pain. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at him worriedly. “Can we stop the process so that he can take rest?” I asked Selene in a concerned tone. “Yeah…. We can do that…… but for that… I have to talk to Beast once again.” She answered me, but she sounded annoyed in the end.
I giggled while giving her a meaningful look. She glared hard at me. Who was the one who thought about being their mate? I was sure that it wasn’t me.
I felt sorry for Noah to being in this difficult position, but it also made me worry about my shift. Noah was strong and could bear so much pain, but I wasn’t. I could bear emotional pain, but this much of physical pain……….
“You forgot that you took 12 bullets to save the warriors, Noah and other boys. Wasn’t that pain enough for you to suffer.” Selene said to me in a tired tone this time. She told me that she wouldn’t be able to help me for the next few days in order to heal herself yet she was forced to come out in this situation.
“Aurora…. Come here and sit with him.” Frank asked me and I bobbed my head lightly. Hunter left Noah and walked towards me. He helped me getting up and then sat down with Noah. They put his head on my lap, making him lie on the ground.
“We will be back soon.” Frank said to me in a worried tone. “You guys should rest too.” I answered him in a worried tone while patting Noah’s head lightly. He wasn’t whimpering anymore, but I could feel that he was still in pain.
“We will….. I got a mind-link from Clarke a few minutes ago. They will be here in a few minutes. We will take shift to accompany you and Noah.” He replied to me in with an assuring smile, but yawned aloud in the end.
I looked at Hunter with concern too. “I am okay… And I will do as they plan.” He assured me too. I passed a genuine smile to him. It felt good having a genuine friend. I didn’t know what future was holding for us, but I was glad that I had a friend like Hunter in my life. I looked down at Noah again.
“If you can sleep…. Try to sleep. I am here.” I asked him in a low and gentle tone. His whole body was twisted at different and weird angles by now. I could say that it wasn’t easy for him to lay comfortably.
“I am tired, Aurora.” He murmured in a painful tone. “It will pass soon. I am sure tha…. That you will shift quickly as soon as the midnight pass tonight.” I comforted him while stroking his shoulder, and back.
“Selene… Did you talk with Beast?” I asked Selene in a worried tone. “I am not talking with him. If you want… Go ahead and talk to him.” She yelled at me angrily. I was sure that Beast said something to infuriate her.
“Okay… Don’t be angry… It’s not good for your health.” I tried to comfort her, but it came out as a tease. She growled lowly while glaring at me. I giggled once again, but cleared my throat in the end.
“Can I mind-link him?” I asked Selene in a curious tone this time. I talked with everyone through mind-link, but not their wolves. So, now I was curious to know if I could or not.
“Yeah… just concentrate on finding him at the back of your mind. You are capable enough to talk to anyone’s wolf without their knowledge.” She replied to me in a tired tone while closing her eyes.
“Rest well, Selene…. I guess we will have a sleepless night tonight I instructed her in a concerned tone and rolled my from one side to another to ease the pain at the back of my neck

“Noah…. Aurora.” I opened my eyes when I heard Evan’s worried voice. I smiled weakly and looked back at Noah. “I…. I am really sorry that I didn’t come earlier.” Evan apologized in a remorseful tone.

“Hey, Morgan…. can you find someting in the library about how to escalate the first shift?” I asked Morgan when I remembered that he was the one who did almost all the research work among us.

“I am already on it, Aurora. Once finishing laying bed here for your two, I am going to do the same thing.” He replied to me in a low and gentle voice while starting preparing a temporary bed for us. In Noah’s situation, the bedding must be
something that wouldn’t be torn by his now twisted bones.
