Chapter 88
Aurora’s POV.
“It’s hurt a lot.” Noah groaned in pain, and my grip on his torso tightened. I couldn’t deny that now I was scared about my shift. It had been already more than five hours that he started showing the sign of shifting, but it was so painful and so slow unlike the shifting of other alpha pups that I had heard.
“You don’t worry… it will be gone soon.” I comforted him, still holding him tightly. I hissed in pain when his shoulder bone snapped one more time, and poked into my chest. “Leave… me. Aurora. It’s hurting you too.” He asked me in the same painful and exhausted tone.
“I am okay…. And stop worrying about me. Just concentrate on your shifting and ask Beast to escalate the process.” I instructed him after scolding him in a low and hushed tone. He slowly lifted his hand, and wrapped it around my waist.
“I am tired, Aurora… I want to sleep.” He asked me in the same exhausted tone. “Then, sleep….. I am here for you.” I ordered him, tightening my grip on around his shoulders. I didn’t know what to do in this situation as Selene told me that she couldn’t help him in this condition. Only Beast could help Noah but Beast was completely silenced and that was why, Noah was in so much pain.
I heard him sniffing lightly, and it pricked my heart badly. “Why am I feeling so heartbroken, Selene? It…. It’s not like I am in a romantic relationship with him or I have any feelings for him in my heart.” I asked Selene in a frustrated tone.
When I reached here, the first thing that I did out of instinct was to snatch Noah from Alpha Adrian and kept him in my embrace. I had been sitting on the ground with him in my embrace for the past five hours. I was exhausted and sleepy too, but his whimpers and painful groans didn’t let me sleep or even let my body swayed a little.

I trembled lightly and tightened my grip on Noah once again. What if he is really our mate? He would be able to recognize me by tomorrow midnight but can’t tell me as I am still underage.
“Aurora.” He groaned in pain once again, pulling me out of my trance. “I am here… I am here.” I hurriedly comforted him. once again. “Aurora.” I looked up when Alpha Adrian called me. I am preparing a make-shift bed for you two. Lie down for a while. I don’t think that he is going to shift at any time soon, arid you have been sitting for long.” He said to me in a serious and worried tone.
1 wanted to say that I am fine, but I wasn’t. I was still weak, and yeah… I was having a body ache by now. “Let me check his vitals. He still has a long way to go.” Alpha Nevil came forward and asked me in a serious tone.
I gave him a curt nod, and he squat down in front of Noah once again. He was checking Noah’s vitals from time to time. Soon, it would be dawn, and it was making me worried now. This place was near the forest line. If Alpha Adrian wanted to stop the pack members to approach this area in the morning, it will not be a problem, but we are still vulnerable to attacks because of the proximity to the border.
Hunter and Frank prepared the bedding for me and Noah. Noah felt better in my embrace and that was why I was embracing him instead of Alpha Adrian, his father.

“He is still not responding, Nevil. I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but he is refusing to contact.” Alpha Adrian replied to him truthfully. He looked so helpless and vulnerable right now. Noah was his only child and only family remaining as his parents were also dead.
“Can you contact Beast, Selene?” I asked Selene out of desperation. “You know this doesn’t work like this for us, Aurora.” She immediately replied to me in a stern tone. “I… I know bu… but you heard Alpha Adrian…. Please make this an exceptional and contact him.” I pleaded to her this time.
She sighed and closed her eyes. It was clear that she was also affected by Noah’s condition. She tried to take some pain away from Noah, but both Alpha Nevil and Alpha Adrian stopped us. They said that it was necessary for Noah to go through this pain alone. Sharing his pain could increase the shift timings. So, I was doing everything to comfort him except absorbing his pain.
“Okay… let me try.” She answered me in a very low tone after some time. I smiled and looked down at Noah once again. I took the towel lying on my lap and wiped his face one more time. His head was now resting at my upper chest.
I could feel his breathing and his heartbeat, and that was why, I knew how badly he was hurting What if my shift this painful too?
I shuddered hard while shrinking my shoulders. “Aurora… are you feelings cold?” Hunter asked me in a worried tone. “No… I am okay… I… I was just thinking about my shifting.” I answered him truthfully.
“I am scared too, dude. If…. If this is… is this much painful… how am I supposed to endure this?” Frank chimed in, looking worried to death.
I smiled when I remembered that he was born two days earlier than me. “Why are you smiling, huh? You will be the next in line after me.” Frank scolded me, but I could say that he was also scared. “Let’s hope that our shift will be swift like…. Like plane taking off?” I said to Frank in a teasing tone and he glared at me, making me giggle.
“Guys….. You are not helping me all.” Noah complained this time, but hissed in pain when a bone of his jaw snapped. I tightened my grip on him. “Let him put on the bed first.” Hunter instructed Frank in a low tone.
They approached me, and I slowly let Noah go. He screamed in pain when Hunter and Frank lifted him up by grabbing his shoulders and his ankles.
“Man…. You are scaring me to death, Noah. I … I am now really scared about my shift now.” Frank muttered under his breath, but I knew that he was more worried for Noah than being worried about his shift.
I slowly stood up but swayed a little. My legs were completely numb by now. Alpha Adrian caught me immediately. “Are you okay?” he asked me worriedly while holding me by my arms. “Yeah…. My legs are numb.” I told him truthfully while shrinking my nose in pain.
“Take your time… you will be okay.” He comforted me and slowly pulled me up in a comfortable standing position. “Thanks, Alpha.” I thanked him sincerely and looked down at my feet. “Ca… can you ask Selene to contact Beast?” he asked me with some hesitation, and in a very low tone.
“She is already trying, Alpha. You don’t need to worry. She will find a way to contact him.” I assured him while moving my gaze on him. I saw worry of a father for his son in his eyes. He was an alpha first, still he was Noah’s father.
“Th… thanks, Aurora…. No matter she will succeed or not. She is trying and this matter.” He thanked me sincerely. Noah screamed once again, making us snap our heads in his direction. “Hey… hey… buddy… we got you… we got you.” Hunter immediately rubbed his back while comforting him. Noah was now on his fours, head hung low, trying to move his limbs in that position, but was about to fall when both Frank and Hunter held him.
“I… I think we should call Evan, Clarke and Morgan too.” I suggested and they all looked at me questioningly. “You guys are like…. Friends forever…. More than brothers to each other… it… it will ease his pain if he is in close proximity with all his loved ones.” I explained and Frank immediately looked at Hunter.
“What about Hunter’s presence then. They aren’t on good terms” Frank asked me while moving his gaze on me. I heard a low growl from Hunter, but I smiled.

“Yeah… you are right that they don’t like each other, but they don’t hate each other either. They are always in perfect synchronization whenever they work together. And tonight… it was Hunter who brought him here and endured so much pain in the process.” I explained in a calm tone.

I paused and took a deep breath while looking at Hunter and Noah. Both of them were looking at me now. “They have their disputes but it doesn’t make them enemies.” I said further while looking at Hunter in appreciation.
“Noah and Beast had a fight over something that Beast didn’t tell me. That agitated Beast to the extent triggering their shift. He was also in immense pain, but more than that…. he is angry.” Selene informed me in an annoying tone.
“What is it?” I asked her in a concerned tone. “He is really annoying, and clingy…. he… he wants me to comfort him….. his audacity to ask me to comfort him… why would I do that?” Selene answered me angrily, but I giggled once again. She
groaned and retreated deep in the back of my mind.
