Hunter’s POV. (Continued)
It was good that Noah restricted his movements on my back or else he would have fallen at any time. “This is weird. He is still a day earlier.” I murmured when I realized whatever was happening to him right now was still early.
If he was going to shift at any time, then it would be tomorrow night, not tonight. I shuddered hard coming out of my trance in fear when Noah’s loud wail shattered the calmness of the night. Blaze also whimpered in pain at the same time.
Noah had dug his nails deep inside our fur. I could feel the blood flowing down through our fur. “Hang on, buddy… we will be there soon.” I tried to comfort him through the mind-link, but I was anxious now.
“Au… roara… I… I need her.” He uttered while groaning in pain. My heart skipped a beat by his request. Surely she was his protector, but her presence couldn’t lessen his pain. “Okay… Okay… let me mind-link her.” I replied to him in a low tone this
time.
“Sh… she is not res…. Ponding to the mind-link.” He answered me in the same painful tone, thrusting his nails deep again, making both me and Blazed hissed in pain again. “So….. You mind-linked her when you should mind-link your father first?” I asked him annoyingly this time.
He groaned in pain once again, and that was when I felt something going on with his bones through the fur. Was he going to shift a day earlier? What triggered his shift? It was going to be a very painful first shift for him if it was going to last till the next night.
I was in immense pain when I reached the tree line near the forest. There was a special hidden place here which Alpha Adrian had prepared for Aurora’s shift but yesterday he told us that not only Aurora but Noah, Frank, Clarke and Morgan will also finish their first shift there.
Blaze sprawled on the ground while panting heavily when we reached that place. The blood loss was not excessive but enough to make us feel dizzy. Noah somehow succeeded in getting off my back. I immediately shifted back into human form.
“Wait here… they will be here soon.” I instructed him while breathing heavily and looked around. The whole area was covered in darkness, but I could see through the darkness. I slowly stood up while plopping against my knee and walked towards a tree where I guess they had left some spare clothes.
I found a bundle of clothes after searching for some time hidden at the upper side of a thick tree. “I think we should call Aurora. He really needs her,” Blaze said to me in a worried tone. “Why? It’s not like she is his mate.” I immediately refused while putting a boxer shorts. My whole back was now covered with wounds. So, I didn’t feel like wearing a t-shirt.
“But she is bound to her for the rest of her life. She is her protector, and I am sure that her protector bond with him will help him endure this pain.” Blaze explained in the same worried tone. I wanted to retort, but I knew that he was right.
We didn’t know anything about the protector bond between a Luna Warrior and her alpha. So, it might be possible that her proximity would help him in enduring the pain. “She is also a healer, Hunter.” Blaze reminded me, making me purse my lips into a thin line.
I was still contemplating whether to call Aurora or not when I heard Noah screaming badly in pain. I immediately approached him. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths when I saw how badly he was writhing in pain on the ground.
“Aurora…. Are you still awake…. Come to the place reserve for your first shift. Bring my father with you.” I mind-linked Aurora and instructed her immediately.
“What’s wrong?” she asked me through the mind-link in a concerned tone. I was surprised that she was still awake. “Noah….. I guess he is going to shift. He is in so much pain. My father is not responding to the mind-link.” I answered her and slowly opened my eyes.
“H….elp.” Noah uttered while raising his already twisted hand towards me. The bones of his hands had twisted into so many

weird angles that made me shudder while remembering my first shift. I immediately took his hand in mind and squatted near him.

“Can’t we help him?” I asked Blaze in a desperate voice when I felt how badly he was hurting right now. “T… try to feed a few drops of our blood. I.. I am not sure if it will work or not, but we can try.” Blaze answered me with some hesitation, but I immediately raised my wrist towards Noah.
“Noah…. Try to drink my blood. I… I guess the healing powers of my blood will help alleviating your pain.” I asked him in a worried tone. His eyes were now drooping, he barely managed to lift his head up. His grip on my hand was also not tight.
“I… m… n… ot a vampire.” He spat, trying to open his eyes, but he was too exhausted to even lift his lid. “I know, dude….. a few drops of my blood can really help you in this pain.” I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
He was a special wolf. He must have had some special powers. He was still as annoyed as he was always. He slowly opened his mouth and I put my wrist inside his mouth so that he could bite me. I hissed when he penetrated his canines inside my
wrist.
“Enough.” I yelled while taking my wrist out of his mouth when I felt him sucking my wrist. He put his head back on the ground and closed his eyes. His whole body was now covered in sweat as I could see how sticky his t-shirt was now.
“Hang on, Noah…. Everything will be okay soon.” I comforted him while patting the back of his hand in a low tone. “Noah.” I sighed when I heard Alpha Adrian yelling in panic. I wanted to stand up, but he didn’t leave my hand. He wasn’t whimpering that much now.
I saw Alpha Adrian, Hank, and Frank coming towards us. “Your father is here. The presence of loved ones always helps in shifting. I am sure that this time will pass soon in their presence. I said to Noah softly while lowering my eyes towards him.
I remembered how my father held me tightly into his embrace until I finished my first shift. Alpha Adrian immediately squatted down beside Noah, and pulled him into his embrace. Noah screamed once again when his ankle twisted weirdly.
“It’s okay… it’s okay… It will be gone soon.” Alpha Adrian comforted him while I stood up slowly when Noah left my hand. “You are injured.” I heard Frank asking me in a worried tone. “I carried him on my back.” I answered him in a low tone and then walked a little far from them.
“Where are you?” I heard my father anxious voice through mind-link. “Really dad? You blocked link with me again?” I asked him in disbelief instead of answering him. He didn’t need to tell me why he cut off all the mind-links because I was sure that my parents were together at that time, but they were doctors.
“Where are you, Hunter? Are you okay?” he asked me in a stern but anxious tone. “I don’t know what happened, but Noah is now going through his phase of first shift. We are at the shifting place near the forest line that Alpha Adrian has built up for them.” I informed him but hissed in pain when I tried to stretch my body but the wounds in my back stopped me.
“I …. I think you should go to the hospital, Hunter. A few of them look nasty.” Frank said to me in a worried tone. “Aren’t they healing?” I asked him in a curious tone while moving my back towards him. “They are….. but at very slowly.” He answered me in the same worried tone.
I was exhausted and a little dizzy, but his answer made me furrow my brows in confusion. My healing was much faster than others. How could it be possible that I was healing slowly right now. “Let me clean them for you.” Frank proposed and at the same time, Noah once again screamed in pain, making both me and Frank tremble hard.

“I don’t know, but Evan was also in immense pain for more than 6 hours during his first shift, and Noah…. It… it’s really scary.” Frank shuddered hard in the end, but his revelation, made me think about my first shift.

Dad told me two days ago that almost our whole group consisted of special wolves. If both I and Evan went through immense pain for more than six hours during our first shift, and now Noah was experiencing the same, then what would happen to others in the future, especially Aurora?
I hissed in pain when a liquid hit my back. “What are you doing?” I yelled at Frank in pain but he held my shoulder tightly, unable to make me move towards him. “I am cleaning your wounds, Hunter.” He told me in an annoying tone.
I sighed when I felt the trembling of his fingers on my back. It wasn’t because of my wounds, but because of Noah’s painful whimpers. We could hear snapping of bones and joints from time to time. It was really a slow process.
“Is your dad coming?” Alpha Adrian asked me in a worried tóne after some time. Frank finished cleaning my wounds by now. “Yeah… he is with Aurora and they will be here at any time.” I informed him in a calm tone, and looked at Frank.
“What’s wrong?” I asked him when I saw him looking around cautiously. “I guess we should check the parameters. The last time, they also targeted Noah. What if someone was still around us, and is looking for an opportunity to attack him?” he answered me, his eyes still trying to look through the darkness.
He had a point. “Let’s go there. We can have a good view of the forest from there.” I said to him while towards the same direction. “Hey, pups…. Don’t go too far.” Hank yelled when we were about to go out of that reserved area.
