Hunter’s POV.
“I really don’t understand, Mom. Why her? Why the goddess chose her to be his protector? She…. She is so innocent, naïve and fragile. In… in the past five weeks, she almost died three times. What did she did wrong to deserve this?” I ranted while pulling my hair in front of my mother.
“She did nothing wrong, Hunter, and also, you know very well that we can’t decide our fate.” She replied to me in a calm tone, trying to comfort me. “The goddess must have some genuine reason to choose her for this role.” She continued but I shook my head while lifting my head.
I was now in my room in the pack house where my mother came to meet me. They almost lived in the hospital, and that was why, I shifted back to the pack house to live with other guys. The villa that Alpha Adrian gave to us felt lonely without my parents there.
“Mom….. I want to propose her.” I told my mother in a low voice, but didn’t look at her. My eyes were now glued on the nightstand beside my bed. I was sitting on the couch with my mother in my room.
“You know that the things don’t work like this in our world, Hunter.” She replied to me in a firm but calm tone.
I slowly moved my head towards her this time. “Yeah… I know that… But I also know that she is not going to have a mate in this life span. What’s wrong with dating someone, then?” I answered her and she furrowed her brows.

“I haven’t found my mate, and I don’t think that I am going to find one in the nearby future. We have a connection, and I don’t think it’s wrong to share a romantic relationship in this case.” I explained my thoughts and she sighed this time while looking at me calmly.
“But what will happen when you will find your mate, Hunter? Do you think how heartbroken she will be at that time? You know how the mate bond work on us.” She questioned and I gulped hard. “It’s not about what you want, Hunter. It’s about how to keep her away from the sorrow and heartbreak that she will always feel whenever she will see someone jumping into his or her mate’s embrace.” She continued but my mind was a mess.
“Do you know why no one can talk to her wolf?” she asked me in the same calm tone, and I knitted my brows in confusion this time. Blaze told me about this, but after the attack on that village, Blaze told me that he can connect with her easily now.
“She is an ancient soul, Hunter… the only Luna Warrior soul that exists in this world. You can have a romantic relationship with human Aurora, but her wolf will never associated herself in this.” Mom continued and I smacked my lips.
“The reason that she always stay well hidden inside Aurora is that she doesn’t want herself to be affected by these emotions, and this also affects Aurora. You…. If you want to propose her… go ahead…. But don’t expect that she will accept it and don’t do this out of pity, my son.” She said further and I frowned on her last statement.
“I don’t pity her, Mom.” I immediately retorted and she scoffed. Yeah… sure… if it isn’t pity then what it is. You said by yourself that you want to propose her because she will never experience love because of her role as a Luna Warrior.” She replied to me in an accusing tone.
I opened my mouth to refuse what she said but shut my mouth because the way I put things in front of her sounded like the same. I lowered my head and closed my eyes. “I am sorry, mom.. this… this is really not my intention.” I apologized to her in
a low tone.
She patted my shoulder and stood up. “I need to go now, Hunter… But before I go back to the hospital, I want to say to you that don’t do anything that can jeopardize your relationship with her. She is highly sensitive to these things right now because of her approaching birthday.” She warned me and I just nodded my head in agreement, without lifting my head up.
I stayed in the same position until she walked out of the room. I sighed and slumped on the couch. I slowly lie down on the couch and curled up. “Are we doing bad things, Blaze?” I asked Blaze in a painful tone.
I… don’t know, pup. You know how romantic relationships work among us. I can wholeheartedly accept my mate only.

“I think so too.” I murmured while staring at the nightstand in front of my eyes. As Blaze said, Aurora was everything that I wanted in my mate. Above all, her beautiful eyes that always captivate me, can make me do anything that she wants.
I wanted to give her all the happiness and care of this world. Being a Luna Warrior means being a lone soul. She has to spend her whole life alone. I felt a pang of pain in my chest when this thought crossed my mind.
I sat up and took a few deep breaths. Tomorrow, before Noah’s birthday party, I will ask her out. Yeah… that will be the right step in that direction. I need to cultivate our relationship first before asking her to be my girlfriend.
I slowly stood up and walked towards the door. I was now feeling a bit hungry but it was already late and I am sure that the kitchen staff had already retired for the night. I went out of the room and rolled my eyes when I saw Noah approaching the stairs.

He also looked at me coldly but didn’t say a word. We both resumed our way towards the stairs. He was two or three steps ahead of me, but I kept my pace low. I didn’t want to be anywhere near to him right now.
“Are you hungry too?” he asked me when we both walked in the same direction. “Yeah… something is bothering you too?” I asked him while c**g my brow.
He didn’t answer, but his facial expression was enough to tell that I was right. We both walked inside the kitchen and he opened the refrigerator. I stayed behind and leaned on the edge of the aisle. “Uhhh… it seems that we only have milk to have or we need to cook.” He said to me while going through the ingredients.
Well…. Sometimes… it was easy to talk to him.
“Do you know how to cook?” I asked him while crossing my hands in front of my chest. “Yeah…. I always get hungry in night.” He answered me, but I saw him clenching his jaw. I felt a light squeeze in my heart, but I suppressed that discomfort.
“You learned cooking for Aurora.” I said in a very low tone and he stopped moving. He slowly straightened his back and took something out of the refrigerator. Aurora was always a sensitive topic between us, but the tension between us wasn’t that dense right now.
“She always has a good appetite. I remember that she always demanded something to eat when she was.” He paused and his body went tense. I didn’t need to be a genius to guess the rest part of his statement.
“Although they had a separate villa, Aurora and all of us liked to stay here with Martha. We almost slept together in Martha’s room. At night…. Whenever she… she felt hungry…. She woke me up or Evan…. So…. we learned cooking for her.” He told further in a very calm but distant tone, reminiscing those days.
“Tomorrow is your birthday…. Are you excited to meet your mate?” I asked him while taking the meat from his hand. I guess we were having sandwich right now. He gave that to me and went to take a plate to put veggies.
I furrowed my brows when he didn’t answer me immediately. We both went to wash the ingredients in our hands and I waited for him to answer my question. “You already know who is she, don’t you?” I asked him while narrowing my eyes.
He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “Yeah….. But she is underage.” He answered me this time in the same tone, washing the vegies, but my hands trembled.
1 clenched my jaw and tried to calm my furious beating heart down. “She can’t be your mate, Noah, and you know that.” I replied to him in a stern tone this time, still trying to keep myself calm.
