I sobbed lightly but my heart started beating furiously. In three days, I’would attain the age where I could be able to recognize my mate. I couldn’t deny that my obsession towards Aurora had already reached to that extent where I couldn’t see her with anyone else, and wanted her to be with me all the time.
“Noah… Answer me.” He yelled at me this time when I didn’t answer his question for a good few moments.
“Ye.. yes, dad…. I.. I feel relaxed and in peace whenever she is with me.” I answered him truthfully while taking light hiccups. His brows furrowed to the extent where they touched the hairline, making me looked at him in confusion.

“What is it, Dad? Why are you so… so troubled?” I asked him while standing up this time. He took a deep breath once again and slowly lowered his head. I stopped right beside him, and looked at him anxiously.
He could tell me anything but not that Aurora was going to die.

“I… I don’t know for sure, Noah.. b.. but it seems that Aurora is your mate. he replied to me after a short tensed pause.

My heart almost stopped beating when I processed his words. “The way you behave around her now, and what you feel for her…. It seems that the mate-bond has started forming between you two already.” He continued and I almost stumbled backward.
He sighed while looking at me helplessly. That’s it? What did it mean?
“She is meant to protect you withther life, son… But a protector bond never have physical attractions between the bond holders. I don’t know what made your bond with her an exception though.” He continued in a very serious tone, but may mind was completely numb.
I still had three days before my eighteenth birthday but I was going to lose my potential fated mate today. Was I so unfortunate! And ironically, I was the reason that she was on the verge of death.
“Do something to bring her back, dad…I.. I can’t lose her. I can’t lose her, Dad. I screamed in panic and agony when I realized what was at stake right now.
I stumbled hard and almost fell on my back, but I grabbed the edge of Troy’s desk to steady myself. Dad took a deep breath and just shook his head. I fell on the ground on my butts this time. I couldn’t breath and it made me clutch my chest tightly.
Dad suddenly stormed out of the room, leaving me with my helplessness and agony. I tried to take a breath properly, but it’ was almost impossible for me. “Noah… Noah… For goddess’ sake, boy. Pull yourself together.” Frank scolded me while barging in with Clarke and Morgan.
“F. Frank.. sh. she is going to die… she is going to die, Frank.” I yelled in panic while trying to breathe. “Nothing like this is going to happen, Noah… calm yourself down, first.” He comforted me while holding my head against his chest.
“Drink some water, buddy… We are together in this.” Clarke asked me while showing a glass of water in front of me. I didn’t take the glass though, but tightened my grip on my chest.
“Drink some water, Noah” Frank yelled at me, and Morgan pulled me from the other side. “Drink drink some water, Noah.” Frank ordered me this time while putting the rim of the glass on my lips. I took a sip but coughed harder as someone had strangled my neck, unable to make me gulp down anything, not even water.
“Don’t worry, don’t panic.. just try to drink again.” He coaxed me again while putting the rim of the glass on my lips again. I complied and took another small sip. This time, I managed to gulp down. I took a few more sips before signaling him to remove the glass.

brows.
Clarke signalled Frank, and I looked at Frank. He sighed and slowly sit down on the floor comfortably. I waited for him to answer my question, but I had a foreboding feeling in my heart. She took 12 bullets, saving 12 lives, including us.” Frank answered me, and my mind exploded.
“The vampires entered the pack through the river side. Someone removed the spell cast there this morning. We have a traitor in our pack, Noah.” Morgan told me in a very serious tone. Beast roared aloud this time, shaking my whole body, and I snapped my head towards Morgan, looking angrily.
“He is right. Noah…. We talked to all the warriors present there, and 9 of them told us that they were pushed by her with at force that they fell on the ground. At first, they were angry and confused, but when she coughed blood and collapsed, they realized that they were shot, but she not only saved them, but also took that shot for them.” Noah explained.
“A few warriors managed to detain two rogues and those rogues revealed that they were told to enter the pack through that particular place at a particular time this morning. They chose this day because they knew that Hunter is not in the pack. They knew that his blood could save her, or whoever would be hit by those bullets. So, whoever hired them, instructed them to attack today, and their only mission was to kill you and Aurora” Clarke explained further and I felt that my mind would explode at any time.
“Hunter and Evan are already on their way to come back. She… she just need to hold four more hours.” Clarke told further, but this brought nothing to be relieved.
“Do you think that she can hold this longer?” I asked him sarcastically and he lowered his head in guilt. “She… she did this to save us, Noah… we owe her our lives forever.” Morgan muttered but it only made me feel bitter.
