Chapter 72
Aurora’s P.O.V.
“Just bring the trophy to the pack, Hunter. I want you to stay calm and don’t do anything unless you are provoked the limit of your patience.” I instructed Hunter in a firm but concerned tone. “O come on, Aurora…. He doesn’t need to bear his arrogancy.” Olivia immediately protested, clearly disappointed with my instruction.
“You are right, Olivia. He doesn’t need, but sometimes a little suffering brings more fortune than trouble. So why not go for fortune?” I reasoned while shrugging my shoulders. Olivia immediately raised his brows with a stern face.
“And what fortune is in that pack that I need, huh?” Hunter asked me sarcastically and I rolled my eyes. I told him to study Blood Hound Pack’s history and its current situation and sources very well, but I guess he didn’t listen to me very well.
I sighed and looked at Olivia. “I remember you told me that there is a kind of herb that can be used to lessen vampires’ venom’s affect.” I reminded her and her expression immediately changed! I took my phone out and went to the page in my search history where I searched for that herb.
“See.” I raised my phone towards Olivia after I found it. She immediately took the phone and her eyes widened in shock. “They have plenty of those herbs in their pack, but I am sure that it will not be easy to get it from them. They have their eyes on our pack land for ages and this condition in our pack has given them this opportunity. Do you think that they will give these herbs to us just like that. We need a leverage.” I explained what I had in my mind.
Olivia sucked a breath and looked at me as if I had grown two heads at this very instant. “You truly are the most intelligent one, Aurora.” Nevil chuckled while looking at me admiration and I smiled bitterly. “I just like to gather information, Alpha Nevil.” I replied to him and looked at Hunter.
“Hunter, you need to win this battle not by your fist but with your brain. Provoke him, let him do a grave mistake and then we can demand these herbs as compensation.” I instructed Hunter and he rolled his eyes in annoyance.
“And why do you think that they will give this compensation?” he asked me annoyingly and I huffed. “Because Alpha Devon cares about his reputation. If we threaten him to complain to the council, he will surely do anything to stop us.” Alpha Adrian answered him in a calm tone this time.
I also nodded in agreement while giving Hunter a smug look. He grimaced and looked in his mother’s direction. I just shook my head and looked at Alpha Adrian. “Is this why you want to go there?” he asked me and I nodded in response.
“Yes, Alpha… I know that he will do something to bully me and I can get a better leverage on him, but.” I paused and pressed my lips while looking at him apologetically. “Okay… let’s finish the dinner. Hunter has to leave early in the morning.” Nevil urged us and I sighed while looking back at my plate.
I felt Noah’s burning gaze on me this whole time but I didn’t even glance at him. His birthday was next Friday, and I wish that he finds his mate that day so that he stops bothering me. “Here… have some more veggies… you are so recuperating.” Evan put some veggies in my plate, making me frown.
My plate was already overflowing with the amount of food that my grandmother had served me and now Evan was also adamant to convert me into a pig. “Eat as much as you can, sis… I will finish the rest.” He mind-linked me and I immediately looked at him with a surprised expression. He winked at me while lowering his head.
“Evan… you also need to stay calm there.” Aaron instructed Evan after some time and I glanced at Aaron this time. He had a serious face, but I knew that he was worried about Evan’s safety. Evan was going at my place.
“You don’t worry, Dad…. I am as cool as cucumber.” Evan self-appraised, making me giggle this time. “Yeah… a cucumber.” His mother, Cynthia, my aunt, remarked sarcastically. Evan scowled immediately and looked at me with a pout.
“Don’t make these faces, Evan…. it made me gag.” Hunter teased Evan and he immediately glared at Hunter. I chuckled and jerked my head lightly. “Boys…. Concentrate on your dinner.” Alpha Adrian ordered them sternly but this bantering made the atmosphere lively around the dining table.

“Noah… are you not feeling well?” Cynthia asked Noah in a concerned tone and my grip on my fork tightened immediately. “I am okay, Cynthia… thanks for asking.” Noah answered him in a gentle tone. “Are you sure? You look pale and agitated.” She asked him again in the same concerned tone.
“His 18th birthday is almost reaching. His wolf has started his period of transition already.” Nevil answered her this time in a casual tone, but I snapped my head towards him in surprise. “What? B.. but wouldn’t it be more painful for him than it’s generally for wolves if it has started this early?” Hunter immediately asked Nevil in a concerned tone.
Noah was sitting in front of me across the table on the left side of Alpha Adrian while I was sitting on the right. “It varies from wolf to wolf, Hunter. Noah is an alpha wolf, and most of the alpha wolves starts surfacing a few days earlier from their proper age.” Nevil explained in the same tone, but it made my heart skip a beat.
I was also an alpha blood, but I couldn’t tell them that I have started feeling some changes in my body and my temperament too. “How can Noah deal with this, then?” Cynthia asked in a concerned tone. I looked at Nevil nervously.
“Uhhhh….. well…. Proximity of his parents, and his mate can help him deal with this pain and suffering.” Nevil replied to him in a serious tone. My heart sank at the deepest pit of my stomach.
Parents and mate…..
Noah had his father, but what about me?????
“Aurora????? Are you okay, honey?” I flinched when I heard Cynthia asking me in a concerned tone. “I.. I am okay, Cynthia… I am okay?” I answered her while stammering a little and immediately lowered my gaze.
