Adrian’s POV
“They entered by hiding inside a few delivery trucks around 3 this morning, and hid themselves near the river, masking their scents. They attacked two patrol guards on the west side of the river, and killed them. They opened doors there.” Abraham, my beta, informed
me.
“How did they manage to enter though? Even if they were in delivery trucks…. Their scent is nothing that can’t be missed.” Hank, my ga**a raised the question in a frustrated tone. “Those trucks had chemicals for our factories,” Abraham answered him in the same serious
tone.
“This is not the problem, guys…. The problem is.” I interrupted Hank when he was about the raise the next question but paused in the middle of the sentence and took a deep breath. I looked towards the portrait of my deceased mate, Victoria on the wall in front of me.
“They were once again here for Aurora.” Abraham murmured and I closed my eyes. There was silence in the room once again. We all knew why those rogues wanted to take Aurora away. “Her birthday is still four months away. Should we expect more attacks?” Hank asked us in a serious tone.
“Let’s send her to a safe place for the next four months first,” Abraham suggested and I immediately shook my head negatively. “No… we can’t do this… did you forget what that witch told us, huh?” I asked him in a serious tone. He took a deep breath but didn’t open his mouth.
“The first thing that we need to do now is to check the security system and inspect the whole border to prevent any other infiltration in the future. Also, we need to install equipments to scan all the closed containers to find any potential threat hidden inside them just like this time.” He suggested in a serious tone and I nodded in agreement.
“But we have to do something before the next attack. They almost got her if it weren’t for Hunter….. That new boy from the Blood Moon Pack.” Jerome, my delta, said to us this time.
“Let’s start her training now. This attack cleared one thing that it’s not possible for us to guard her all the time… Not when our sons hate her from the bottom of their hearts and they have no intention of keeping her safe. I don’t know why we don’t know about them bullying her.” I replied to Jerome while explaining Aurora’s situation in school.
“What? What are you talking about?” Abraham immediately shouted in shock, and I just gave him a pi**ed look. “H… how can they do this to her? Evan is her brother.” He continued shouting and I scoffed while shaking my head lightly and looked in the other direction.

“You weren’t there when I confronted them.” I replied to him, but didn’t look in his direction. “This is a serious situation, then. We are talking about the danger outside the pack, when she is not even safe inside the pack. What the f**k.” Flank was **i*ed to the maximum extent.
“They are coming.” I informed them in the same serious tone when I sensed Noah’s near my office. I was disappointed in Noah the most. How could he hate Aurora when…..

We heard a knock on the door and Noah with other boys entered the room. “Close the door Clarke.” I instructed him in a cold tone. I could see fear on Clarke’s face. All of us lost someone beloved to us in that rogue attack 8 years but it didn’t mean that they would held an innocent responsible for that. Today…. I was determined to give them a lesson of being high- ranker.
They all came towards my desk and stopped in front of me across the desk. Noah, Evan and Frank were at front and Morgan and Clarke were behind them. They had their head hung low but I could feel that they weren’t sorry for their behaviour towards Aurora.
“I would like to ask you a question Clarke. Answer me that question as the future delta of this pack.” I addressed that boy first because I felt that he had deep hatred towards Aurora. As their alpha, I could feel their emotions better than them. I was just surprised that I didn’t find it earlier than this.
He gulped hard but didn’t lift his head up. “Suppose our pack is under attack, and fighting with all your strength to keep your pack and its members safe. You are severely

They all stiffened immediately. They knew why I raised this question, but it didn’t bother me. If they couldn’t understand the responsibilities of a high ranker, then they aren’t qualified to hold a high position in the pack.
He didn’t answer but gulped hard once again. I waited patiently for him to answer my question, keeping my eyes glued on them. Evan was the one who looked up. “It doesn’t matter if I am a high ranker or not. If I am a warrior, my first responsibility is to keep everyone who can’t fight or protect themselves in that situation. Even…. Even it means sacrificing myself.” He answered me calmly and in a firm tone.
I could feel Abraham’s pride towards his son, but it brought disappointment towards Noah to me. As the future alpha of the pack, he should be the one to answer my question. I took a deep breath and leaned towards the desk, still having my eyes on them.
“So, Evan… Tellune…. Punishing Aurora for the crime that she didn’t crime is right or wrong?” I asked him calmly, and he gulped hard this time. “Do you think that what your deceased Luna did at that time to save a pup….. was wrong?” I asked him in the same calm

He kept his eyes locked with mine, and I could see guilt in his eyes. The tension in the room was so thick that it could be cut by knife. Noah slowly looked up this time. “As Evan said… If you’re a warrior, your first priority is to keep your pack and pack members safe in every situation. What do you think. Noah, what should an alpha, luna, and all other high rankers do in case of an attack?” I asked him this time.
“What your mother did at that time wasn’t for Aurora only. She…. She had done the same thing for any pup or any other defenseless member of the pack, Noah. You hate Aurora because your mother died saving her, but I guess Aurora should hate you more because her parents died because they were trying to save your mother, and me.” I said to him further in the same serious tone, but I told him exactly what happened at that time.
Not only he but all of them immediately snapped lift their heads up in shock. We never discussed the series of incident happened during that attack, but now was the time that they should know what happened back then.
“You all are standing alive in front of us because of her parents, Clarke. I am sure that you remembered how those rogues entered that safe room where you all were hiding at that time, and what happened after that.” Hank spoke in a pi**ed tone this time.

Someone hit her on head, making her faint inside the class.” I revealed the whole truth to them.
“No… th… this can’t be…. I… I just fixed her nose.” Noah said to me in panic. “And after that….. what did you do after that, Noah?” I asked him immediately in a stern tone. I didn’t want to think his next action towards her, but he was forcing me to think about all the scenarios that could happen after that.
He didn’t answer me, but I saw guiled in his eyes. “You pushed her so hard that she hit her head in the wall.” Hank muttered this time, and I banged my fist on the table while looking at Hank angrily. He was the one whom I instructed to investigate this matter but he didn’t tell
me this.
“I… I didn’t know that.” Noah defended himself while stuttering hard in panic. I immediately stood up, pushing the chair so hard that it fell to the ground with a thud. “You didn’t know?

All of them stumbled hard while running backward towards the door. I banged my fist on the table one more time as soon as Hank released me from his embrace. “It’s time to go to the hospital, Adrian. Aurora needs us. Martha is already there.” Jerome said to me in a low tone this time. I closed my eyes and gulped the lump that formed in my throat down.
