Chapter 4
Alexandra
The events of the past few days have left me emotionally drained, and the weight of the impending rejection ceremony hung heavily on my heart.
I haven’t shared Lu**s’s decision with Deca and Josh, the pain was still too raw, too fresh, I will need time to process it, to gather strength for what is to come.
With a heavy sigh, I got up and decided it was time to head back. The night had grown colder, and the chill seemed to seep into my bones. Taking the familiar part of the garden, I headed back to the pack house.
As I approached the door to our room, I stopped and took a deep breath. I reached the handle, and as I turned it, I could hear a faint murmur of voices, something felt off.
Pushing the door open, I stepped in and froze. There, tangled together on my bed was Lucas and Selena. His hands roamed all over her body, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. Selena drew back slightly, acting shy, as if she had been cut in an innocent moment.
“Lucas!” My voice cracked with a mixture of betrayal. I strongly didn’t want to believe the night when he told me he was going to take her as his chosen mate. I hoped and thought he would change his mind, but now, I guess all hope is lost. “What is going on here?”
Lucas looked up, his expression changed from surprised to irritation. He detangled himself from Selena, who continued playing the role of a victim.
“Alexandra!” Lucas said, he has never called me by my full name, he did today all because of Selena? “What were you thinking barging into my room like this?”
“Your room?” I spoke in disbelief. “This was our room! And i did not badge in, i walked in, this is still my room!”
Lucas stood, his huge form covered that of mine. “Have you forgotten that we are now divorced? You have no right to enter my private quarters unannounced.”
Selena cleared her throat, and shot me a look of mock innocence. “I’m sorry Luna, I didn’t mean for you to see this.”
My hands clenched into fists by my side. “Don’t call me that. And you “I pointed at Lucas, “how could you do this to me? After everything we’ve been through, you bring her here, into
our room?

Chapter 4
Lucas face hardened this isn’t about us Alexandra, its about me moving on, you should do the same
“Moving on?” my voice broke, this was cutting deeper than anticipated. ” you couldn’t even
wait until after the rejection ceremony. You couldn’t even give me that little respect Ven
His eyes narrowed. “Respect? That’s funny coming from you. It will not be hard for you to move on, you already have someone who gets you chocolate and flowers. I need an heir, and sadly you won’t be giving me that.”
“You think this is my fault?” I asked.
Stella moved closer to Lucas, and held his hand. “I think it’s best if you leave Alexandra.”
What ever held me back was doing a good job, because at this point, I felt like plugging all the hairs from Selena’s head.
My gaze shifted from Selena to Lucas, “so you won’t even wait until the ceremony is over? He kept quiet, staring at me with no rumours. “Alright, fine, enjoy your life together. Don’t worry about me interfering in your relationship, after the rejection ceremony, I’m leaving.” I was heading out the door when Lucas stopped me
“Where will you go? Arrangements will be made for you over here, you may stay.” If I wasn’t so hurt by all that happened these past few days, I would mistake his words for worry.
Without another word I left the room, the door slamming beside me. I ran down the hall, my vision, my blurred by tears, my heart pounding with a mixture of rage and heartbreak
Outside the house I pulled my phone out, dialling Deca’s number.
“I
greet you Luna, what is good?” she said with a cheerful voice
“Can you come pick me up?” I said still subbing.
“What is wrong Luna? Sure thing, I’ll be right there.” she said ending the call.
Few minutes later, Deca and Josh pulled up in front of the pack house, I got in and we drove
off.
I told them I needed rest, I will tell them what’s going on soon enough, but Deca was being impatient, every now and then she knocked at the door asking if I needed anything or if I’m ready to talk.

There was a knock at the door again. “Luna, are you thirsty?” I smiled slightly at how concerned she was about me.

“Come in Deca.” she looked in first, before gradually walking to where i was. “Josh, I know you are there as well, come in.” Josh followed by
“What happened to Luna?” he asked me. I was surprised it didn’t come from Deca, she was ghostly quiet, staring at me.
“I prefer you don’t give me the creeps Deca, I’m getting worried as well.” I said laughing, but they both kept a straight face.
“Okay, no jokes.” I took a sip of water. “There is going to be an event tomorrow.”
I turned to look at them, but they still had that straight face on. “Well we know about that, the alpha told everyone, but we don’t really know what it is about.” Deca respond
“It is a rejection ceremony,” they both look confused. “I and Lucas’ rejection ceremony.” I watched as their confusion changed to shock.
Deca stood up immediately with a shout “WHAT?”
“How, and why?” Josh asked, equally worried.
I told them all what had happened, and what was going on, I excluded the part Selena threatened me, in order to avoid unnecessary drama.
“How could he? I’m heading there now to talk some sense into his head.” Deca said, turning to leave the room.
“Deca stop” I commanded, she turned to face me with a hurt expression. “If you do that, you will get yourself in deep trouble, and I won’t like it if you got hurt because of me. You know better than to anger your alpha.
“That slimy little a**ole,” Josh said.
“Don’t call him names Josh, he is still your alpha” I said
“No no, its not the alpha. I saw the beta at the hospital with Selena when i was coming up with the items I got.” he said
“What?” I couldn’t believe my ears, they planned this.
“Luna, how will you be able to take the pain of the rejection? You are not in a good state to.” Deca suggested, which was true. I had it in mind to take it as it is, if it leads to my doom, then

its fine by me, i will accept my faith. My silence give me out.
“No it won’t happen, I’ll get something to reduce the damage for you.” She said.
