Chaanc Mate 15

Chapter 15
Albert’s POV
I could feel she was worried, even though she tried so hard to hide it.
She was speaking with mother, and I was asked to leave, that they needed privacy. It’s not like I couldn’t hear what they were discussing from where I was, I chose not to.
“Tom,” I called out through the mind link.
“Yes Alpha,” He responded.
“I need your help, I want to do something special for my mate, she isn’t really in a cheerful mood, and I want to change that.”
“Something like what?”
“I don’t know, that’s why I called to you.”
“How about a picnic? I’m sure the Luna will love it,” He said.
“Get the necessary things needed, and meet me at the water fall in an hour time.” With that, I severed the connection.
I walked back into the room, and mom gave me a dissatisfying look. “I’m not here to take her mom,” I gave her a kiss on the forehead, and repeated the same action to Alexandra. “She’s all yours for an hour, after which, she’s mine.”
Alexandra gave me a confused look.
“She’s her own person you know,” Mom said. “She can make her own decision. You can’t treat her like a toy.”
“I belong to her mother, as she belongs to me. I can never treat her like a toy, but she’s free to do whatever she wants with me.” I said, as I gave her a wink.
I watched, as my mate blushed. “I have somewhere to go darling, why don’t you just stay here, and chat with my mother for a bit? I’ll be back soon.”
“Where are you going to?” She asked
“You’ll see,” was my only reply. I gave mother a qulick hug and whispered, “Take care of her
for me.

“Of course,” she replied patting my back.
I left the two women talking and laughing. I pulled out my phone checking the time, I have less than 50 minutes to complete some official work, and meet Tom at the waterfall.
I went to my office to attened to my unfinished business. After carefully reading the documents, I signed what was needed to be signed, and rejected the once that were less than satisfactory.
With the paperwork out of the way, I picked up my phone and made some business calls. Once that was done, I check the time, and had 20 minutes left. “Perfect.” all i needed was 15 min.
I got there, and met Tom with his mate preparing the spot for the picnic.
The picnic blanket was spread out on the soft grass and I arranged an assortment of food on it. There were fresh foods like strawberries, grapes, and blueberries. The basket contained an assortment of cheese, c**rs, and freshly baked bread. There were pastries as well, a bottle of chilled sparkling juice. The final touch was a bouquet of wildflowers I picked from the surrounding area.
I took a step back to admire the scene, it was simple but beautiful. I turned and saw Tom’s mate putting some pink petals on the walkway towards the picnic blanket. It wasn’t just that, Tom placed some balloons on the trees around the set.
The picnic setup changed from beautiful to perfect. I thanked them, and they left me alone in the clear setting. It was time to get my mate, and with that, I left as well.
When I arrived, I found mom alone. “Mom, where is she?” I asked.
“She stepped out, she said she wanted to look around.” She replied.
I walked through the hallways, searching for her but she was no where to be found. A hint of worry, crept into my thought, where could she be?
I looked round the pack house, still, she was no where to be found. “Where could she be?” I thought loudly to myself.
‘Pups’ Rio said.
It made sense, she has a soft spot for kids. I quickened my pace and made my way to the playroom.
As I approached the playroom, I could hear laughter and playful chatter.

Chapter 15
I picked inside and saw Alexandra sitting on the floor, surrounded by the children. They were playing a game of charades, in which Alexandra was taking the role of various animals, to the delight of the kids. Her face was lit up with genuine joy, and the children were captivated by
her.
“Okay, guess what I am,” she said, getting down on all fours and pretending to be a lion. She let out a playful roar, and the kids erupted in giggles.
“You are a lion!!” Two kids shouted out loud as they began running away from here.
“That’s just silly and at the same time funny,’ I thought to myself.
“You guys are so good with this!” Alexandra said pouting her mouth like a kid.
“Okay we won’t get the next one,” one of them said.
This time, she stood up and spread her two hands, flapping them as if they were wings. “You are a bird!!” They all shouted out.
“Not fair, I’m gonna get you all!” She said as she began chasing the kids. They all ran separate ways in order to avoid her.
I couldn’t help but smile as I watched her. She was wonderful with the children. I wondered how it would be if she had be
I decided not to spoil the mood with that thought.I stood there, leaning against the door frame, happy to simply observe for a moment.
“Miss Alexandra, do you have any kids?” One of the little girls asked..
Alexandra’s smile faltered slightly, but she quickly recovered it. “No, not yet,” she said.
“Can you stay with us forever?” Another kid asked.
“I will always be here whenever you need me,” she said poking his nose.
“Alpha Albert!” One of the children noticed me and ran towards me.
The rest of the children turned and saw me as well. Their face lightened up as they ran towards me. Alexandra stood up with a half smile on her face.
I turned to the children. “Alright you little angels, I and Alexandra have something to attend to, but we will see you all later, okay?”
They groaned in disappointment but nodded. “Bye, Miss Alexandra! Bye, Alpha Albert!” They chorused.

I took Alexandra’s hand and led her out of the playroom. As we walked through the hallway, I glanced at her and spoke, “I have a surprise for you.”
“A súrprise?” She asked.
“Yes,” I responded. “But you will have to wait a little longer to find out what it is. I hope you love it.”
“This should be interesting,” she said with a smile.
“It sure will be. Come on, let’s get ready for a little adventure,” I said as I opened the car door for her.
We drove in silence, the SUV smoothly navigated the forest part, she sat beside me, her skin was glowing with the effect of the sunlight.
“Where are we going?” She curiously asked.
I just smiled, “you will see, we are almost there.””
After a few more minutes of driving, I pulled the SUV to a stop, the remaining journey had to be taken by legs.
I stepped out of the car and walked around to her side, opening the door for her. “Come on,” I said, offering my hand.
She took my hand, and as she stepped out, I reached into my pocket and brought out a scarf/
“I need you to trust me and close your eyes.” I gently said.
She did as told, and I carefully tied the scarf around her head. I lead her carefully along the part. “We are almost there,” I whispered.
Finally, we got to a stop, where the petals were placed. I gently untied the scarf.
“We are here.”
