My heart was racing and my breath came in short panic gasps, as I jottered up screaming. The terrifying image still lingered in my mind, the merciless attackers, the brutal killing, and the horrific moment when I saw Alberts head rolling on the floor, I kept on screaming, unable to hold my terror.
Albert was beside me in an instant, his hands wrapped around me, “Alexandra, it’s okay. Shhhh it was just a nightmare,” he said softly. “You are safe, I’m right here.”
I clung tightly to him, my body trembling. Tears streamed down my face, as I struggled to catch my breath. Albert continued to murmur reassuring words to me, his hands gently stroking my hair.
We stayed like that till my breathing slowed down. Albert pulled back slightly to look at me.
“What happened? Can you tell me about the dream?”
“It was awful,” I said with a shaky voice.
“Shhh breathe, Calm down, it’s just a nightmare. Albert said.
-No you
don’t get it, it didn’t just look like a nightmare, or dream Albert. It seemed real.” I said, tears streaming down my eyes.
“Can you tell me about the nightmare?” He asked again.
“I…..I…found myself in the forest, then rogues came out of the forest, from every angle of the forest Albert. They didn’t seem normal, they all had white eyes like the prisoners, I thought they were going to hurt me, I lost hope already but to my surprise, they didn’t. They passed me like I didn’t exist, like I wasn’t there. They were heading here, so I ran after them. It was too late when I arrived, I couldn’t warn anyone. They were attacking everyone, Albert. They were killing children, women… everyone including you.” I said as I remembered his tragic death.
anymore.
“They had you cornered, there were five of them around you, maybe even six I’m not so sure
You were exhausted, and they used that particular moment of weakness to carry out their plan. Your head was ripped off Albert, it was completely ripped off! And..and that’s when I woke up.” I said to him.
I looked at him with worry and concern written all over my face. I watched, as his expression grew more serious. His grip on me tightened protectively.

Chapter 13
“Alexandra, it was just a dream, I’m right here,” He said, wiping the tears away from my cheeks. “And I’m not going anywhere. Nothing is going to happen to me or to you. I promise.”
“But it felt so real,” I whispered. “I was so scared Albert.”
He pulled me closer to him, his hands continuing to stroke my hair in a soothing motion.
“I know it was frightening, but you are safe now, I’m here with you. I will stay with you tonight, you are not alone,” He muttered.
I nodded, feeling a small measure of comfort from his presence. We played back down, his hands were still wrapped around me. The heat radiating from him calmed my nerves. I felt safe and complete in his hands.
“I will stay right here with you Alexandra. Just try to relax, I’m not going anywhere.”
As he gently brushed my hair, I could feel my eyes growing heavy once more, I closed my eyes as I focused on his heartbeat, and rhythm of his breathing. With that, I dozed off.
When I woke up the next morning, the room was filled with the soft light of dawn. I tried to get up, but something was holding me down. I looked down to see arms wrapped around my waist. I knew then that the hands belonged to Albert. I turned gently in order not to wake him up, but it was pointless.
Albert was staring at me. “Good morning,” I greeted, feeling a little bit embarrassed.
“Good morning sunshine,” he said with a smile on his face. “You look really cute when are shy.” He said using his finger to lift my head up. “How are you feeling this morning?” “Better,” I admitted. “Thank you for staying with me last night.”
you
He leaned in, as he stared at my lips. My heart was racing, what was he about to do? It’s not like it’s my first kiss, so why am I so scared? I couldn’t help but wonder, as he leaned in further. I closed my eyes expecting his lips on mine. I heard him chuckle, and a kiss was placed on my cheek. I opened my eyes in relief and disappointment.
I got off the bed, hurrying to the bathroom, but stopped on my track, as I remembered the little kid.
“Albert,” I called out as I turned to face him. “I would like to see the Kid that was taken out of the dungeon the other day.”
He nodded his head, “alright, after you freshen up, and have breakfast we will go to the pack house.”

I went into the restroom to freshen up, a few minutes after I got in, I heard the door to my room close shut. I did my usual, brushed my teeths, and had a hot shower. I picked a simple but elegant black dress. It’s a neckline midi dress, in black compact cotton, a corset detailing around the waist, and a gathered skirt. “This will do,” I mumbled.
I went downstairs for breakfast, I met Albert there already. We had toast and coffee when we were done eating, I cleaned the plates we used, and went outside to meet him. We drove out of the house, heading to the pack house.
Albert packed the car, and we both stepped out. The pack house was massive, it was designed to accommodate over a hundred people, if not more. Though the pack house was not as elegant or morden as Albert’s personal home.
The packed house seemed to have been here for over a century, but it looked like it had been here for some couple of years. The ground around the house was well maintained, so was the house.
Albert led me inside, the walls were adorned with paintings and many more, showcasing the history and achievements of the pack.
We walked through the pack house, as Albert showed me various areas of interest. He showed me the dining hall, where most pack members have their meals, training area, for both physical and combat skills, I learnt that we have an outdoor training area as well. And so many more. Everywhere we went, people greeted Albert with respect.
Albert Exchanged greetings, with various pack members. I noticed Marcus’s mate, Isabel, talking with someone across the room. I tried to find a way to avoid her, I was slowly walking towards a door beside us. But my efforts were in vain as I heard her call out my name.
“Alexandra!” Isabel’s voice rang out.
